Music, since ancient times, has been a tool of human expression that was believed to be limited to those who could perform it, and understood by those who boasted of having economic, social, or political power, sometimes referred to as "cultured," turning it into something "eclectic."

As the years , music becomes more versatile, showing different facets of people (music is the naked soul of humanity), and what is considered "appropriate" or "inappropriate" has lost its defining line, becoming a gray area of broad shades.

My intention with this blog is not to define what is "correct" or "incorrect" in music. At the end of the day, it has a human face. This is more of an introductory mechanism to share with you one of my favorite bands, "SABATON." Some time ago, I shared about "BAD OMENS" (They're great too); this time, I want to focus on SABATON.

Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band formed in 1999, known for its lyrics about war and history. Its powerful sound combines fast riffs with the voice of Joakim Brodén. The current include Brodén, Pär Sundström, Chris Rörland, Tommy Johansson, and Hannes Van Dahl.

Their ability to tell stories through music, taking into its historical component, I find truly irable, as it is no longer a group of individuals simply expressing how they feel, but a group of people creating music based on something real that might have happened to others.

I emphasize this because, many times, music is focused on the "Ego" and how the other makes me feel, whether that other is an object or person, directly or indirectly, it always comes back to the "Ego" However, seeing another approach to music that provides good quality and is based on historical facts conveys different interests (which is not wrong, as using music as a cathartic tool is sometimes necessary at certain stages in life when it touches on areas that need to be explored). This allows not only emotional connection but intellectual one as well.

Among my favorite songs are:

RESIST AND BITE: https://youtu.be/iGtEH1i78sI?si=OAE5_WeO0DXWTi_F

SOLDIER OF HEAVEN: https://youtu.be/LYI3eegIJlI?si=QQgoulHD34TqTSmT

I hope you also enjoy their songs as much as I do, and that more questions arise afterward because that’s the magic of SABATON.
