Alrightly so this is gonna be a little series now where I share my thoughts and opinions on musicals I haven't listened to yet! Hopefully y'all enjoy!
Okay so since I'm going to see Wicked in a week, I've really been meaning to listening to the soundtrack. SO THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M DOING. LET'S GO BOYS:
Edit: Ty for the feature!! :two_hearts: :sparkling_heart: :revolving_hearts:

#1. No One Mourns The Wicked
Okay is it just me, or does this song actually seem a little bit fucked up? Like, these people are legit c e l e b r a t I n g the death of someone just because they're "different" But I'll it the music and the way they're singing does set the tone for the musical and where it takes place.
#2. Dear Old Shiz
I legit felt like I was in a church while listening to this. Also, the "zzzzz" part at the end made me laugh :joy:
#3. The Wizard and I
For the first song with Elphaba in it, I actually really like this song! It's very hopeful and gives us a the story from Elphaba's point of view. Buut, when I was listening, all I could her was Elsa from Frozen :joy: (Y'know bc Idina Menzel)
#4. What is This Feeling?
I've heard a bit of this in a musical medley, so I kinda knew what I was getting myself into when I started the song. But I actually really enjoy it! It's very fun and catchy! Probably my favorite song so far. Also, I noticed that one of the lyrics in the song is "I'll be loathing FOR FOREVER".... *Dear Evan Hansen flashbacks*
#5. Something Bad
Ooooo is this where the drama starts to kick in? It better be, I'm honestly craving for drama when it comes to musicals and shows.
#6. Dancing Through Life
Okay I had to go on Wikipedia to find out what was going on and who was who during the song  But I do like that there is a lot of stuff going on here, and I'm always a sucker for a love triangle
#7. Popular
Again, this is another song I've heard a part of. But still, it was actually funnier than I thought it would! This was the first song in the soundtrack so far that I actually gave a reaction to, it made me laugh a lot. :joy:
#8. I'm Not That Girl
When I first saw the title of this, I thought it was gonna be a power ballad that Elphaba sings about how unique she is, but NOPE. It's about Elphaba's one sided romance with Fiyero, which is honeslty even better for me. I mean, I've had a situation like that a few months ago, so this kinda hit me hard...
#9. One Short Day
Screeeee finally we're getting some Wizard action. Also, Elphie and Glinda's bond is growing stronger, and I'm living for it uwu
#10. A Sentimental Man
So,,,, is this what it's like to be President without being an asshole :no_mouth:
#11. Defying Gravity
Before listening:
Okay OBVIOUSLY I've heard the ending of this song, I'm sure almost every person who likes theatre has. That being said, I'm very excited to see how it is as a whole  I honestly feel super anxious when it comes to listening iconic songs like this for the first time, like how I did with Seize the Day in Newsies. Still, I hope this one's good...
After listening:
... Woah. That, was amazing. I'm literally speechless. Like,,,,, the ensemble at the end, and then the whole scene with Glinda and Elphabe saying bye to each other and AGH-
I just really don't know what to say. I'm shooketh.
Act 2
#12. Thank Goodness
We love some character development in musicals :ok_hand: But seriously I can't help but feel a little bit bad for Glinda
Okay I wasn't sure how to feel about the wizard until I heard this song, and I actually quite like it! It's sounds goofy and fun!
14. I'm Not That Girl (Reprise)
I actually thought it was Elphaba singing this until I replayed it and realized it was Glinda, my bad  But I'm assuming Fiyero decided to be with Elphaba instead of Glinda now? Seems legit I guess.
15. As Long As You're Mine
This is actually how I expected it to sound, except it sounds like it's from the 80s, not that I'm complaining. Also, I'm a little concerned about Elphaba at the end...
16. No Good Deed
ELPHABA N O. WHYYYYYYY. :sob: :sob: Ugh my heart,,, I stg I'm never look at the Wizard of Oz the same way again... This was super angsty and kinda relatable,,, so much that it hurts,,,,
17. March of the Witch Hunter
Oh geez I'm actually kind of terrified right now,,,, now everything from the movie makes sense, which is a good thing I think? Idk, also is it true that Elphaba turned the Lion and the Tin Man into, well, a lion and a tin man or is that just another rumor the townspeople heard?
18. For Good
I'm literally about to cry right now... A lot of these songs struck me in the feels, but this one right now struck me hard. Why does this musical have to be so relatable!?
19. Finale
Gonna it, For Good would've made a better final number. But of course this is a musical so of course they would have to end with a big and loud ending (okay Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen are exceptions)
Overall thoughts
I really really REALLY enjoyed listening to Wicked. It had beautiful music, characters, and relationships. Heck, I haven't even seen it live yet and I already know how fantastic this musical is! Now that I've listened to the soundtrack I am very excited to be seeing it tomorrow! Not only that but Kara Lindsay is gonna be Glinda at the show, and she's one of my theatre idols
Score: 10/10

I just saw wicked on two days ago for the first time!! God it was stunning. But little suggestion. Don’t listen to all the songs before going to a musical, I avoided wicked until I saw it live. And it was so worth it, I’d only heard Popular, Defying Gravity and What is This Feeling, so worth being surprised by everything
Oh also the current cast is stunning,
The wizard is B u r t r u m from Jessie.
Oh and Fiyero is og cast JD, Ryan McCartan.
Just saying all the songs are amazing when u actually see it. It makes more since and is more exciting when u see it. Since I saw it over the summer with phantom
Kara Lindsay was already Galinda. She ed the torch to Amanda Jane Cooper. ^^
I think Kara Lindsay ed the tour? I was confused as well because she was my Glinda like four years ago.
