.╭──࿎࿎─ ︿︿︿︿︿︿ .   .   .

Two pairs of legs hung over the side of the balcony. Tsuyu and Jenna looked down the hillside at the city of Musutafu, watching the few cars slowly stalk about the streets as the citizens finished up their late-night activities. "Iida would throw a fit if he learned we were breaking curfew," Tsuyu commented, glancing over at her companion. The girl beside her had long brunette hair that had been tangled by a day's worth of training and several minutes of sitting out, exposed to the wind. The small tiger-like ears were flattened to protect their sensitive hairs from the cold, revealing a beautiful purple flower tucked into her hair behind them. A similarly-styled tail was draped over the edge of the balcony as well. The woman narrowed her eyes in thought.

"We're in the dorms, aren't we?" Jenna pointed out. "Besides, what can he do? Yell at us, sure, but it's not like we're harming anybody. Besides, if he caught us, he'd be breaking the rules himself." She was right. Of all the rules to break, staying up past curfew was quite harmless. Besides, who would want to be alone at a time like this? With everything that would happen tomorrow?

The flower tucked into Jenna's hair turned orange as Tsuyu contemplated the events that would unfold the following day. The orange crept out from the center of the flower, slowly taking over the petals. Even though Jenna couldn't see the change, she could tell just by looking at the frog girl that something was bothering her. It didn't take much to figure out what had her so worried. She slipped her hand into Tsu's comfortingly. "I promise, nothing will happen to you tomorrow. To us. I'll make sure everything goes smoothly."

The flower's petals remained a bright orange. Tsuyu glanced at Jenna, who was staring into her eyes with a look of determination. "I'm more worried about you than myself," she revealed, throwing Jenna into confusion. "This is a covert operation. I'm fine with keeping my cool, but you? You're very impulsive."

Jenna's expression was unreadable. It wasn't stoic, but Tsuyu couldn't tell if she was shocked or impressed. The flower in her hair turned yellow as Tsuyu giggled at her face. Neither of them was typically expressive, been when they were alone together, they dropped their composed stature. Not that the way they behaved otherwise was just a facade. Tsu didn't hide her emotions around the others, she just kept them in check to avoid too much drama with the other classmates.

Jenna's expression returned to one of determination. "I promise, I won't let you down," she said solemnly.

"What's with all the theatrics?" Tsuyu asked. "I'm sure we'll be fine. It's not like we should be in any danger anyway. But, since it might take a while before we're done, we should probably get a good night's rest while we can."

Tsuyu started standing up, but Jenna didn't move. Not until Tsu had opened the sliding door that led to her room. It was at that point Jenna ed her companion. They crossed the room in silence. Jenna kissed Tsuyu on the forehead and headed to her own room. Tsu closed and locked the door behind her, changed into her sleepwear, and curled up in her bed. She didn't know if she dreamed that night, but she knew she was restless throughout the entire night. Even though she didn't check it, the flower decorating her nightstand stayed orange the entire night, and in the morning when she took it with her.

When she exited her room the next morning, she spotted Jenna, Uraraka, and Aizawa waiting for her at the end of the hall. Jenna smiled as she saw Tsuyu approach with the flower tied into her hair. She didn't say anything as a greeting, however, and instead, they both looked to Aizawa. Their teacher had a stoic expression, but they all knew he was worried as well, Even though he knew how to hide his emotions, they knew how much he cared for his students. "Midoriya is keeping track of the assignments you'll have to make up," he reminded them. "With any luck, you'll be back in my class tomorrow, but I know Ryukyu warned me it may take a few days."

"I'm sure we'll be done in no time," Uraraka chimed melodiously as if she wasn't worried at all. "There'll be four of us, right? And with Hado, there's no way we'll get hurt."

The thought of Hado accompanying them was indeed relaxing. Aizawa nodded his understanding and continued. "I wish the best of luck to you girls. Now go, I'm sure Ryukyu and Hado are waiting." With a nod of gratitude from all three of them, the small group headed for the stairs. They made their way to the train station, and as they approached the campus exit, they spotted a familiar purple-haired student. Hado smiled and waved at them enthusiastically.

"Ryukyu is waiting for us at our train's destination," Hado informed them s she ed them in their walk. "She doesn't want to risk venturing any farther than the train station, because she doesn't want to risk alerting our target of her presence."

"Who is our target, anyway?" Jenna asked. "She told us we needed to keep an eye on a warehouse, but didn't really tell us why."

"I figure it was just another branch of the Shie Hassaikai," Tsuyu shrugged. "Even with Chisaki dead, there are small branches of the organization still up and running."

"It's something along those lines," Hado nodded. "Although, the branch no longer identifies as the Hassaikai. They've been having internal conflicts recently, and with Chisaki dead, they saw it as the perfect opportunity to declare themselves their own independent gang. They call themselves Mogura."

"So we're getting rid of them before they can cause any real trouble?" Uraraka ventured a guess. Hado once again nodded in confirmation.

The four of them boarded the train, sitting next to and across from each other. As Uraraka and Hado chatted and Jenna browsed her phone, Tsuyu looked around the train. A small TV monitor was streaming a news program in the corner of the car, the audio turned down so low she couldn't hear it over the sounds of the train. Regardless, she found herself staring at the monitor, watching the news about how Endeavor had defeated a villain late last night.

As they neared their destination, the broadcast was quickly cut short by a BREAKING NEWS screen flashing on the monitor. Even though the audio remained silent, what was on the screen was impossible to mistake. A large creature was thrashing about in the streets of the city, fighting off aggressors. "Ryukyu!" Tsu called as a warning. Several people, the three that were with her included, gave her an odd look. "Guys, she's in trouble." She pointed at the screen, drawing everybody's attention to it.

"What the-" Hado gasped. "That's impossible! She said she wouldn't leave the train station."

One of the people standing under the screen stretched up and manually turned up the audio, recognizing their concern. The reporter was talking quickly. "-as soon as she entered the section of the city. None of these villains are recognizable, and yet they are all clearly working together. Is this a new group for the heroes to worry about? Despite being new, they are giving pro hero Ryukyu quite a hard time..."

"Something clearly went wrong," Tsuyu said calmly and quietly.

"Don't worry Ryukyu, we're coming," Jenna claimed as if the pro hero could hear her. The flower in Tsuyu's hair turned red. "Those guys don't stand a chance against all five of us."

"We don't know any of their quirks," Tsuyu reminded her. " to be cautious until you know what you're dealing with."

"Can't this train go any faster?" Jenna asked as if she didn't hear Tsuyu's concerns. "Ryukyu needs us!"

As she complained about the speed of the train, Tsuyu felt it start to slow down. The girls grouped by the door. Others let them by as they heard they worked with Ryukyu. Very few of them knew who Uraraka, Jenna, and Tsuyu were, but many of them recognized Hado. As the doors opened, they were greeted by a large crowd of civilians wanting to get away from the fighting area. The group of girls ran through them. The crowd parted as they approached, allowing them to plunge head-first into danger.

They could feel the ground trembling before they even left the train station. As they made their way above ground, it wasn't hard to spot Ryukyu's giant dragon form farther down the street. Luckily, it seemed the civilians had already evacuated the dangerous area.

The four girls ran toward the pro hero, ready to help out. Hado and Uraraka took to the sky to get a read on how many there were. Tsuyu planned on jumping up on a wall to examine everybody's quirks, but she paused as she realized a tiger had raced past her. Jenna. The tiger flung itself at the nearest enemy, locking its jaws onto the unsuspecting man's shoulder. The man cried out, alerting his comrades to the newcomers' arrival. As he stumbled forward, one of his allies shot forward, their arms turning into blades.

Realizing Jenna was in danger, Tsuyu jumped into action. She ran toward the scene, her tongue shooting ahead of her to wrap around the man with the bladed arms. Of course, it was no longer a sneak attack, so he saw it coming. The blades sliced into Tsuyu's tongue, but she was able to whip it around enough that it wasn't completely severed. She drew it back, blood now dripping from her mouth. But at least she had drawn the attention of the one about to ambush Jenna.

The one that Jenna had pinned screamed, and Jenna went flying backward. She looked a little disorientated as she morphed back into a human form. Tsuyu ran up to her, and they faced off against the two enemies together. It was at this point Hado and Uraraka also lowered themselves to the ground to help Ryukyu with the rest of the group.

Tsuyu was fairly confident they could knock these two out but froze when they both pulled out a pistol. "Jenna, we need to get out of here," she said.

"We can't just leave Ryukyu and the others," Jenna said. As she spoke, her voice got deeper and more feral as she transformed back into a tiger. With a roar, she charged at them again.

Time seemed to slow down for Tsu. She knew Jenna would be filled with bullet holes. As both the gang started to fire - one at Jenna and one at Tsuyu - Tsu jumped into the air, toward a fire escape. She felt the bullet whiz past her ear, just barely avoiding her head. When she landed, she turned to see Jenna stumbling backward, human once again, gripping her arm. Tsuyu's tongue shot forward once more. A lot of people felt uncomfortable when she used her tongue to move them, but it was the simplest way to ensure her safety.

She yanked Jenna up to her as they fired more bullets. Tsuyu didn't feel any pain, but she could feel the force of the impacts making her stumble back. She focused all her strength and energy into her tongue as she lobbed Jenna through a window into an apartment room. She had intended to follow her in, but...her vision was spinning. She stumbled forward, feeling stinging in her shoulder and her thigh. They were still firing. She gasped as one went through her side, bringing more pain.

"Tsu!" Jenna cried, recovering from her own daze. She frantically crawled toward the window, but could only watch as another bullet hole appeared next to the one on her shoulder. The shooting stopped, presumably because Tsuyu had collapsed where she previously stood, shielded by the railing of the fire escape. Jenna scrambled forward and hefted her through the window.

Her voice was distant. She could tell Jenna was calling her name, but it was fading away. Tsuyu could feel the vitality draining from her with each drop of blood. She felt pain as Jenna tried applying pressure to the wounds, but there were too many bullet holes. Tsuyu closed her eyes, knowing that Jenna was safe.

Jenna frantically tore off straps of her clothing to tie around Tsuyu's wounds but had no idea how to do it properly. "Don't worry Tsu, they won't follow us in here," she assured her. "We just have to wait for Ryukyu to realize we're missing. She'll send Uraraka or Hado to find us, and they'll take us back."

Her rambling stopped as she realized something was drifting outside the window. She glanced over to see small black specks being sucked outside by the draft. Terrified, she reached up and pulled the flower out of her hair. It was black. Black and dead and crumbling into ashes. She could only hold it as the petals were whisked away by the draft. Until there was nothing left.
