If you finish the hero side and the villain side, then you're technically done with the game and considering one justice 2 is a full recap of season 4 then there's not much story content.
Arcade doesn't really unlocked stuff since it's use for grinding for currency.

In order to advance to the next story chapter, you need to complete the one that's unlocked, the only time you should pay is for some of the characters.

Yeah, I have. Do you think I have to do the mission stuff? I’m currently trying to get through all the characters in arcade. Does that unlock stuff? Also, thanks for all the tips. I really appreciate it!

I'm actually unsure myself if the missions contribute to the main story but it is worth a try, and no problem!
