➢ Kaminari might be a bit of a coward to anything with a spook but, a haunted house in the middle of the summer? Made by someone like Shinsou no less can't be too bad! Though, things start getting a little too real, both on a paranormal and physical spectrum.

“Be back by the next prep time, no later!”
“-or I’ll wringe your neck!”
The warning and additional threat left to Kaminari by his respective band mates had him scratching nervously at his neck in the heat. How was he supposed to have fun if they expected him back at a certain time? What’s with Jirou too, she gets way comfortable being bossy when she’s in charge! Not to mention Bakugou who’s suddenly so hyped over order in the band. Kaminari’s brow twitched in annoyance while thinking these things, considering to drop his flee for some carefree activities. He really needed it though… there was absolutely no way his attention could be set any longer on practice and music.
How could they be okay with missing out on all the festival events anyways? The festival was bustling with fun times and cheers of laughter. Walking through it all and into its hold lifted Kaminari’s spirits a bit and away from the burdening time limit over his head. He was here to have fun so fun he would have even if it killed him!
“What to do what to do…” He mumbled to himself, pinching the bottom of his lip and shifting sneakers over grass parched with spilled sodas and free falling cheap prizes from vendors. Maybe he should’ve waited for the whole gang to venture with him, he considered but, his eyes then caught glimpse of something incredibly wicked. Looming in the distance a couple feet higher than most of the makeshift rides set up was a fort like building. It’s theme of darkness and horror heavily contrasted against the other stands that spewed out nothing but happiness and cheer. It was a negative place that would even bring Tokoyami to tears!
Leaping over trash in a mildly fast pace, Kaminari made way to the haunted house with a little nerve in his stomach. He wouldn’t say he was particularly interested in horror; if anything he disliked it very much. Though, the fear of getting on stage and rocking out and possibly screwing up in front of a bunch of hot potential lovers was enough to make anything scare related look like a kiddy ride in comparison. Hey, it could even still his anxiety about getting back to an angry band boss!
His glee about the made-up revelations halted when he saw the caution tape securing the front entrance. Kaminari’s mind assumed it was just decoration that fit the theme of the place all too well until he saw the line of upset attendance waiting outside and gradually departing to make do with their time elsewhere.
“Don’t tell me someone died in here!”
Kaminari groaned out aloud followed by an easygoing response from the right side of him.
“Yeah, a heart attack. Terrible isn’t it?”
Kaminari didn’t expect the guy to be so close or aware of his statement. The mess of indigo hair and tired eyes made him settle down surprisingly quick.
“Oh, hey! You’re… Shinsou, right? Don’t you have some quarrel with Midoriya?”
“I wouldn’t call it that. Shouldn’t you be more concerned about the dead person?”
Kaminari slapped his forward and his eyes bulged open in surprise once more.
“Gee, yeah! Are they really dead?!”
“No. Some kid just puked and I had mopping duty.”
Shinsou didn’t smile once for teasing Kaminari but shook the broom to leave emphasis on his statement. Kaminari wouldn’t point out that it was a broom and not a mop.
“You’re a little comfortable taunting me, man. Not cool!”
Shinsou shrugged unapologetically and went to retreat to the back of the house before Kaminari spoke up again, grabbing onto his wrist.
“Hey, hey, wait a second! Wanna make it up to me by slipping me into this t? It’s like the only place I really want to get on before my band has my ear about not coming back on time.”
“You’re a little comfortable grabbing onto a stranger, aren’t you?”
Shinsou shot to him a bit aggressively, a tone that made Kaminari lean back with his hands off and up in innocence. Guess he should’ve known his crowd but, he didn’t learn his lesson with people like Bakugou then he didn’t learn at all. That was the lesson that you have to absolutely annoy them until they warm up to you!
“No harm here! But listen, you probably get super bored too and that’s why you made that sorta lame joke to me. Am I right? I get it, us students having to work our asses off to please the presses and make good face is taxing! How about I slip you 1,000 yen and-“
“I’ll take you inside— for free— if you just stop talking.”
“Sounds like a plan my man! I’m Kaminari Denki by the way. You should hit me up in VIP after my show and we’ll make it even for the exclusive tour you’re about to give me.”
Shinsou opened the back door for him and they both made it into the back darkness while Shinsou retorted back.
“I never said anything about walking you around.”
“Tough crowd. You really want me to get lost in here?!”
“Keep your voice down.”
The door closed and suddenly they were in the dark of the hall. Kaminari’s eyes wouldn’t adjust fast enough and all he could feel was the heat radiating off of Shinsou’s black clothing as he did his best to follow behind him in pace. He only collided into his back once when Shinsou paused to open the hidden door into the main lobby.
“This is the starting point. The whole place runs like a free-for-all maze and depending on where you head off to is what you encounter.”
Kaminari peeked in while listening to his introduction on their haunted house. For something that was built by the hands of students he could confidently say he was impressed by their craft. Nothing really struck him as out of place and the dark and creepy nature of it all with addition to its vastness sent a chill to his back.
“Woooah… you guys really made this yourselves? Is anyone else in here?”
“They went for a break.”
“Lucky us then, we got the place to ourselves!”
Even after saying that it felt a little too intimate and heat crept up to his ears, glancing back to make sure Shinsou wasn’t weirded out by the comment. His attention was to one of the maze entry’s though which settled Kaminari’s panic down. How uncool of him! He couldn’t particularly help it though after bumping into Shinsou’s back and realizing how much muscle he put on after the tournament. Did Midoriya really throw him around hard enough to the point he pushed himself to work out?
“We can go through this route first.”
Shinsou pointed down the first empty hall, the entrance littered with cheap cobwebs and hanging spiders bought from a party store. Kaminari followed beside him easily until they wandered in deeper and to ages with different decorations, so much to the point that he couldn’t mentally retrace his steps anymore for a way back. He could find subtle grace that the haunted house students were on break and weren’t around to jump-scare him out of his wits and charm. It wasn’t until they stopped at the broken mannequin that made Kaminari’s heart stop after rounding the corner that Shinsou finally suggested they head out.
“Are you done yet? You’re looking pale and I don’t want to clean up someone’s dissolved lunch again.”
“What? Me? I’m fine! Nothing gets to me! But I think you’re totally right, I extended my time-“
A pitched scream sounded ahead of them that echoed and pierced the cold air. Kaminari’s hands instinctively flew to his cheeks and he jumped behind Shinsou who stood there, surprised as well but also with no indication of being fearful.
“What was that?!”
Shinsou didn’t say anything which only added to Kaminari’s quickening heart rate.
“Shinsou, dude, c’mon! Honestly, I’m not really a die hard fan of this scary stuff in a literal sense-!”
“Shut up for a second!”
Shinsou snapped and Kaminari obliged, just thankful he wasn’t pressing them toward the screams. That was, until he began doing just that and walking down the hall to the source.
“Are you crazy, shouldn’t we be running away from it?!”
“Nobody is supposed to be in here other than my classmates so if someone wandered in too they could’ve gotten hurt or lost.”
Great, another thing he learned about Shinsou was his moral com was much more at par than his own. It was appealing in retrospect that someone so bland was actually pure at heart but, he didn’t have time to tease that fact to the guy nor the confidence.
Shinsou was moving and Kaminari wasn’t about to be left alone nor try his luck in finding his way back. Begrudgingly, he followed, keeping at eye on every corner they ed for movement.
“What if this place is actually haunted, what about that??”
“You’re pretty dull in the head. Someone would have needed to die here for it to be haunted and we made this thing a week ago.”
“Oh yeah? What about haunted objects? Haunted power tool? Haunted-“
There was a loud bang to Kaminari’s left and in the darkness he could see a figure rushing away. It made him swallow thick and not even realize that he made haste to hang onto Shinsou’s arm. Shinsou made a confusing face, one mixed with annoyance but a hint of fluster that made his brows wrinkle down.
“…Can you get off?”
“You need this for something? I can’t hold on a little bit longer?”
“You’re such a coward, you’re really starting to annoy me you know!”
Shinsou huffed out but, his words didn’t coincide with his actions for he didn’t bother to wave Kaminari off of him. It was weird having his arm pressed to the other guys chest as if his life depended on it. Why was he so touchy? He was childish, irritable, bothersome… so why was he allowing it?
Whoever or whatever was in there with the two of them surely could realize of their presence by now with their constant bickering. If it were someone lost then they would’ve tried to reach out by now to call for help. If it were Shinsou’s classmates then they would’ve realized one of their own was in this mess and would quit the act, right? If neither of those added up, then what could it possibly be?
Before he could warn Kaminari to stop walking with him upon hearing the hatch open from above, they both jumped back when a lump of a white matted body bag dropped down right before Kaminari’s sneakers. He yelped out in surprise, unlatching himself from Shinsou in an every man for himself response and darted away the their dead end.
“Kaminari! You’re gonna end up getting lost!”
Shinsou shouted down the hall and clicked his tongue, kicking the lump bound with just trash that they all worked on together to form a figure. He glanced up the hatch but heard nobody, not even someone hurrying away. Could they be waiting there silently? He went to investigate but thought better of it. Kaminari was unfortunately his current responsibility and having him in meltdown mode would be his fault when his classmates returned.
He paced himself down the hall Kaminari ran, checking any curtains or doors the blonde may have hidden into during his escape. It was a dead end path so how far could the guy have gotten? When he rattled the door of the last closet on the left, he knocked gently with a roll of his eyes.
“I know you’re in there, it’s me.”
The door made no time to burst open and close, Kaminari swiftly dragging the other male in with him into the tight space. Kaminari was strangely reflexive to Shinsou’s surprise and the taller one of the two had to place his hands up on the other side of the closet as to not crush the other.
“You’re really having a blast pulling me around, aren’t you?”
“I’ve figured it out. It’s got to be a ghost! I heard them walking around outside while I was in here, you didn’t see them coming down??”
Kaminari spoke up to him, his face red with embarrassment from their closeness and of course from the prospect of potential death by ghoul. Yeah, let’s go with that.
Shinsou made no remark though, also now hearing the steps made outside and watching the shadows move in front of the door. He would of certainly seen someone lurking in the dead end path if someone did happen to be there. Could it really be true?
Shinsou put his hand to the doorknob despite Kaminari’s refusal from behind him. He turned it slowly until it was completely free of its lock. Bracing himself, he jammed the closet door open only to welcome in the unison of laughter.

Kaminari did end up with more than an earful from Jirou and borderline assault from Bakugou if Momo hadn’t intervened. Off stage and fully prepped for their concert now, he aired out his shirt from the bottom to release the tension and sweat he had built up from his adventure at the haunted house. Seeing Shinsou’s classmates actually have the nerve to pull a prank on them was uncool! He was sure he would wow them enough during the concert to where they had no choice but to beg for his autograph AND forgiveness. While he was fantasizing about it, he was slow to realize that Shinsou was waiting at the bottom with… blood spewing out of his head in drenched lines.
“Man, what happened?! Are you alright?!”
Shinsou tucked one hand out his pocket, touched his head and looked guilty for spooking Kaminari yet again.
“It’s just fake blood from the house. See?”
“I’m so done with horror after this…”
The comment earned him a genuine smile from Shinsou which Kaminari hadn’t ever seen on him whatsoever. He went to say something about it but, Shinsou began to speak again.
“I’m sorry about my classmates. You still have my VIP right?”
Kaminari fumbled for a nonexistent badge in his pockets before pointing down to Shinsou.
“For you? My biggest fan? I’ll come get you myself after the show and we’ll get you in with the cool guys, how’s that?”
“Sounds like a plan.” or a date, Kaminari internally teased and sniffled a mischievous cackle under his breath as he turned up the stairs.
“Don’t make a fool out of yourself, I’ll be watching.”
Shinsou said before turning away, noticing how Kaminari nearly slipped on his footing on the stairway at the sudden blush that gripped him yet again while being in Shinsou’s presence. They could both say the feeling was nearly paranormal to them and mutual.
