Okay so this took way too long because the main thing I did was brainstorm what to write :sob: :hand: It turned out a lot shorter than I would have wanted, but it’s okay! Not my best work but I wrote it so might as well post it for theme week! Maybe one day I can rewrite it and compare the two! :0 Anyways, hope you enjoy!

It was gorgeous that morning; to Rei at least. Midwinter, the trees and grass layered in snow, yet the sun still shining bright. It was as if Rei’s ideal day had been created, just for her.

The white haired mother’s hands scrubbed over the last dish in the sink. A pretty silver kettle that had always seemed to be Rei’s favorite piece of metal. For what reason? She did not know, but the emotional connection she had to the object was quite weird. The female allowed herself to gaze out the window again, basking in how pretty it was. ‘Just for me,’ she thought once more.

“Mother...?” Rei heard a small voice ask, hand reaching up to tug on the rim of her shirt. The beautiful women’s eyes went wide, kettle jolting with her arms. A gasp left the little boy as she dropped it, shaky laughter coming from her.

“Sorry darling, you just startled mother. How are you?” Rei asked while she recovered, leaning down and pushing the dual colored bangs out of her youngest son’s eyes. It was always a mystery as to how Shoto had inherited both her and her husbands hair colors, but it was never a problem. Rei knew that her family was special. And she loved it.

Shoto let out a giggle as he timidly reached up to cup his mother’s face. His actions had always been very gentle, and incredibly caring. It amazed Rei to no point of return. He really was the perfect son. Along with the rest of her children, of course.

“We have to get the games ready for whenever father gets back from work, ?” The eight year old reminded, causing Rei to laugh. It was almost as if he was trying to parent her. How cute.

“That’s right, isn’t it? Thank you for reminding me, Shoto. Where are your siblings?” She asked softly, eyebrows raising as she picked her youngest up. Even at eight, he was tiny. The male responded by resting his hands on his mother’s shoulder, not protesting at all. Definitely her calmest child. “Living room.”

And true to Shoto’s word, that was exactly where they were.

“Touya, give me my book back!” An angry Fuyumi fumed, jumping to try and reach the book in Rei’s oldest’s hands. Touya simply answered by laughing and sticking his tongue out. “Or what?” He teased lightly.

“Or you’ll be forced to take the thimble in monopoly.” Rei chimed in, a smirk in the mother’s voice as her children froze. Touya immediately dropped the book into Fuyumi’s arms and let out a whine. “Mom, that’s not fair! You know I always take the race car!”

Rei just hummed as she followed Fuyumi, who was already making her way to the couch. Her fifteen year old went to a corner and curled up, opening the book and letting out a huff. “Dabi, you ripped one of the pages...” She grumbled out, using the nickname they had for Touya.

Even though Fuyumi and Touya argued a lot, Rei knew they loved each other. It was proven the second her oldest beat up somebody that bullied Fuyumi because of her intelligence.

“Sorry Fu, I’ll buy you a new one.” He said, the other teenager nodding. “Thank you...” She said in return.

The mother smiled at their sweet exchange, finally sitting down on the couch. She kept Shoto in her lap, as the little boy didn’t seem to mind it.

Rei scanned the room, noticing a missing person. “Where is Natsuo?” She asked, to no one in particular.

“Right here mama! I made an airplane!” The twelve year old exclaimed out of no where. She felt a body hit her side and gasped. “Natsuo!” She scolded, though it was mainly out of shock. Her third child giggled, waving a white folded up piece of paper in front of her face. “Airplane!”

The mother sighed as she grabbed it. “It’s very nice Natsuo, now where were you?” Rei asked softly, just curious at this point. He came out of no where.

A small pout made way across his face, before he pointed behind the couch. “I was sitting on the ground waiting for you and Sho...” Natsuo murmured, sitting down correctly and nuzzling Rei’s side. Adorable.

“Well we’re here now...” She said gently, feeling almost bad for not complimenting the child’s work enough. It was a mistake that most parents made. She should have encouraged Natsuo’s creativity. “And your plane is amazing by the way, what did you use to make it?”

Her son immediately perked up at that. “Paper and tape! I used tape to reinforce the paper since it isn’t very thick by itself, you know? So when it flies it will go higher and not fall and...” The male’s voice faded off as he finished. Rei grinned, pulling him closer with her free arm. “Brilliant! You put a lot of thought into that, didn’t you?” She asked rhetorically, though she still got a nod from Natsuo.

The white haired female did not miss the happy look on her son’s face, priding herself in it. As long as she fixed her mistakes, she’d let them go.

Rei felt a heavy weight settle on the couch, and looked over to see Touya sprawled out on top of Natsuo; who didn’t seem to mind too much. She wished she had her camera right now, because this was perfect. Everything about it was. Her children and her, all together, just enjoying each other’s presences. Rei was in complete bliss.

“Mother?” A voice asked again, snapping Rei out of her thoughts.

“What is it love?” She asked, looking down at the boy in her lap. He turned his head in the direction of the door and whispered a happy, “Dad!”

Rei smiled as well, excited to get family game night started. With ALL of the people she cared about.

“I’m home!” A loud voice boomed, causing Fuyumi to dart up and run straight to her father. Touya was soon to follow, with a little less enthusiasm. The two embraced Enji in a hug, Natsuo and Shoto staying behind. Rei looked down at them and rolled her eyes.

“You two can go.” She said with an exasperated sigh, watching the two run over to the bulky man without another word. Enji was quick to lift them up, and add them to the group hug.

Rei realized just how lucky she was in that moment. With such an amazing husband, and such fantastical children, her life was literally unparalleled. It was like she had her own utopia, and she’d enjoy it while she could.

“ us Rei!” Enji managed to get out from behind the four kids. And who would she be to deny his request?
