Shenanigans In 1-B: Episode 37: Battle One!

Now on Wattpad. Literally the whole story so far is up there, I just got out of habit of ing here.

Summary: The first fight of the t Training Arc.

Author’s Note:

Before things start... I am an omnipotent body that can change the flow of the story if you so much as Beyblade in my direction, so keep that to yourself. The original characters and base story beats were made by Horikoshi, I’m just relaying things in 1-B and making some changes to spruce things up.

Any correlation between the OCs and something else is a coincidence.

Hopefully you understand this before I piss you off in any way. Let me repeat that. This is my story; I am bored so I wanted to make something for fun, so fuck off if you get annoyed at me because I miss-measured the size of Tamaki’s tentacles.

And before I forget, I’m writing this for my friends first so expect a few inside jokes that you won’t get.

So without further ado... I present the thirty-sixth episode of Shenanigans In 1-B! WOO!

“What's the strategy?" Tsuburaba asked

"Koda-san will likely start by sending animals off to spy on us, and since Shiozaki-san's a big threat in their eyes, she should be off alone to distract them. Same with you, Genyu-san." Shishida thought. "Tsuburaba-san and I will ambush them once they're occupied, Kaminari-san's will not be able to launch an all-out attack with his allies nearby. Ember-san's mist is indiscriminate you say?" He looked to Kaikiban.

"Yeah."

"Then she has to use it in moderation. Shiozaki-san, when alone, attempt to wrap up anyone you catch."

"Understood." She bowed. "But I do not like being a decoy."

"What about me?" Hiryu asked.

"Hang back behind us, prevent any attempted ambushes. Genyu-san, attempt to capture them all at once when the entire confrontation begins, if that doesn't work, continue as normal. Tsuburaba-san, trap Koda-san and Shinso-san in your Air Prison."

"Got it."

"We should have a buzzword too, something along the lines of 'training'." Kaikiban said quickly, "and keep it to two concise words, so that Shinso-kun doesn't get us. Use the buzzword when they figure out the two words thing."

"Now match one... start!" Vlad King announced to the students now that they were in position.

"One last thing! If we get brainwashed, don't hesitate to strike each other!" Hiryu yelled.

"Let's go, team!" Tsuburaba yelled back at them as they set off, jumping onto the enlarged Shishida's back. Kaikiban and Shiozaki split off to the left and right and he kept to the shadows as some pigeons flew above. Shishida was barrelling down the area, sniffing about. Once the pigeons had gone away, Kai used his tendrils with bone hands to pull himself to a higher altitude. Pursuing Shishida was a menial task when he could fly, so he soared low over the industrial metal.

"ROARING RAGE!" Shishida yelled, telling them that he'd made . He sped up and saw that Shishida was bearing down on them, Koda was in a box of air.

"Now, wreck them Shishida-kun!" Tsuburaba's voice came.

^That's Shinso!^ The four present 1-B boys thought at once. Before anymore surprises hit them, Kaikiban jumped from the top of the metal and dropped. Ember looked up with surprise.

"Imitation Series: Shiozaki Todoroki!" He yelled, a large number of powerful bones were formed and they shot down at the six enemies. A crackling, cold mist blasted up as Ember and Kaminari reacted in sync. The mist slowed the bones enough for them to dodge.

"Good try!" Hiryu stated from behind. A flurry of scales then assaulted Class A. A barrier of ice formed from some flowing mist and blocked them.

"This is bad!" Kaminari yelled, as the large bones began to sprawl out towards them. Kaikiban detached his arms from them and fell into the shadows, an almost invisible, yet sturdy wire of web was connecting him to the bones.

"Stop hiding like a coward, Genyu!" Ember yelled out, but he didn't see her mouth move.

"Fall back!" Kirishima yelled at them, and they began to form a retreat. Kaminari shot off a couple of discs at Shishida, before being sent off his feet by him. Koda was still in the cage, Shishida picked it up and crushed the air, capturing him.

"I'll go!" Monke told them, jumping away.

"And then there were five." Kaikiban stated to Hiryu, coming from the shadows.

"Yeah." They could talk freely as they looked to each other.

"I can smell their scent trails, and I can see them through the walls." He said, his third eye appearing on his forehead.

"Then we should probably fall back too, get Shiozaki-chan and reunite with Shishida-kun." The grounded Tsuburaba said. Before they could react, a tongue came from a shadow and wrapped up Tsuburaba.

"Kosei!" Hiryu called after him as Asui pulled him away.

"How did I miss that... wait, cold mist... Ember-chan can cloak them and throw me off!" Kaikiban realised.

"Then we need to get back." Kaikiban nodded, catching his friend in tendrils and grew his lower half into a horse's. "Shiozaki, come!" He yelled to her direction.

"Very well!" She returned, he could hear her fast footfalls as she ran. Shishida was closing the cage door when they reunited. "Why must you have used me as a decoy in a sneak attack?" Shiozaki had her hands clasped together as she seemed to pray. "Ahh... such a sinful act deserves a good lashing."

"What the fuck...?" Kaikiban hissed under his breath as his lower torso returned to normal.

"WAIT! WHERE'S TSUBURABA-SAN?" Shishida asked worriedly.

"Taken. It seems Ember-chan can mask and feign their location." Kaikiban informed them. "Their smells get all wack and the thermal vision falters."

"Then we rely on our other senses." Shiozaki told them, her vines began to stretch out in preparation for something.

"I CAN SMELL THEM COMING... AND THEY'RE ALL IDENTICAL!" Their large, furry ally told them loudly. "FROM ALL ANGLES BEFORE US!"

"A frontal assault?" Hiryu muttered. "That means they know where we are."

"A form of tracking?" Shiozaki cocked her head. "I swear on my true name, Vine, that the schemers shall be punished. Via Delorosa!" Her vines began to fan out and coat the surrounding area before them. "Their positions, O Apocalypse Beast!"

"TEN, ELEVEN, TWELVE, AND TWO AT TWO'O CLOCK! THEY'RE CLOSING IN BUT FANNING OUT!" He yelled. "And please don't call me that... IT'S GEVAUDAN!"

"Closing in? So they must have a way to track us!" Hiryu realised. "And there's something stuck to you Shishida!" His scales coated his arms and shot it off. Kaikiban turned up to his forearms to rubber and picked it up.

"This belongs to Kaminari-kun." He told them. "Now we know who tracks us."

"Two have been caught." Shiozaki told them. "I SHALL DRAG THEM TO JUDGEMENT!" The vines holding two people were pulled in fast.

"Be prepared, we don't know who it is! Kai, be prepared for Kaminari-kun!" Hiryu instructed. The vines came back and both Kaminari and Kirishima were in them.

"DING DING DING! Let me tell you what you've won! Since you're all together, you get a four-way zapping extravaganza!" Kaminari began to charge up. Shiozaki saw this and completely wrapped him in a ball of vines.

"Crucifixion." She stated dully. "And Faith's Shield." A wall of vines was formed.

"Hey! That's cheating!" Kirishima yelled.

"I do not cheat. And this is a flawless counter." She stated.

"You sure about that?" Kaminari charged up more. ^They've got the disc! And I'm in range!^

^Ozone!^ Kaikiban realised quickly and threw the disc at Kirishima, it stuck to his arm.

"WAIT! DENKI NO-" Kirishima was immediately zapped.

"Wait!" Chargebolt realised what he'd done, Kirishima was unconscious. Kaikiban extended his arm out and caught Kirishima. The red-head was thrown into the slammer immediately.

"MORE COMING! GET THOSE VINES BACK UP!" Shishida's voice rang out.

^A dirty trick from a scoundrel!^ She realised, not responding. Shishida and Kaikiban inhaled as a frosty scent filled the air.

"My vines are frozen!" Shiozaki called out surprised. A large gust of mist billowed out from behind Kaminari, the green vines' colour dimmed and a slash went through them. It frosted over the metal and left them with a chill. It wasn't lethal to breathe however. Ember had made her entrance.

"We can't rely on you for anything can we, Kaminari?" She said cooly, a sword-spear in hand cut the frozen vines away with ease. "My mist weakens anything it touches. Your vines fall before me, Shiozaki." Kaikiban moved at his top speed and caught the two of them by the backs of their clothes. His fire and wings rocketed them over the pipework.

"GOT THEM! FIGHT BACK!" He yelled down to them, keeping their two word deal in tact.

"Flames die too." Ember whispered to him as he felt his fire die out when she flowed mist over his feet. He positioned them below him to attempt to slam them, but she had other ideas as his hand went numb and she got free. Kaminari was lost from his grasp as Kaikiban pulled off his jacket. He landed with a roll and turned to face the pair of them. They floated down on ice platforms. "I see you've polished it to not hurt your allies."

"It just weakens them less than you." Frost began to coat her hands as her sword-spear formed and Kaminari took aim with his item.

"You might be tough, maybe one of the toughest out there, but think you can take us both?"

"I have my own gas, and I can make rubber. Bring it on." Kaikiban enveloped his body in steam.

"THERE ARE ONLY TWO LEFT FOR US!" Shishida roared. "DO NOT HIDE!" He looked up as a shadow came over their vision. Multiple pieces of metal were falling towards them. Rin shot them away and Ibara flared her vines out to find them.

"I'll assist." Someone told them.

"You do tha-" Rin froze.

"Snap out of it!" She moved a vine to him post-haste and slapped him across the face with it. He snapped out of it.

"They must have figured out our strategy!" Rin supposedly said.

^No buzzword.^ They thought.

"Shishida-kun? Where are they! Train your scent!" Rin asked.

"I-I CAN'T! THERE'S TOO MUCH OF AN ECHO TO TRAIN!" Was the response. A tongue came from somewhere and caught ahold of Rin. He yelled as he was almost pulled away. Shishida caught his waist.

"You'll pull me in half!" He squeezed out, taking aim with his scales and short them at where the tongue was coming from.

"Ribbit ribbit!" Came a strained voice and Shishida yanked him back. The tongue didn't stretch and Asui was pulled into the open.

"Your heretical behaviour ends now." Ibara looked to her, vines at the ready. A piece of the binding cloth emerged and caught her. Her hold on Rin removed itself and she was pulled into a crevasse.

"I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE NOW!" Shishida howled, before charging straight in, demolishing the metal in his way.

"Hold up!" Rin called after him, but the Apocalypse Beast was too far gone.

"Leave him." Ibara rested an arm on his. Rin made a 'tsk' and scales formed across his body.

"We need to find Kaikiban then. Two on one against those two is a problem." She tugged on the back of his shirt.

"I entrust you to assist him alone." Ibara said evenly, there was something else in her voice that caught his attention.

"There's no need to be worried." Rin gave her a ive smile. "We can tip the scales if you me."

"I must attempt to assist the Apocalypse Beast." He nodded and they went their separate ways.

Kaikiban jumped out of the way of a weapon slam from Ember. The concealed zone he'd gotten themselves into was a perfect place for her to ensnare him into her mist. She'd already frozen off the exits and was keeping the pressure on to prevent him from smashing through and escaping. Kaminari was giving some from afar, some of the discs he'd shot out had landed on the walls and Kaikiban had to be careful when dodging to not get zapped. His arms and legs had been enlarged and filled with muscle to compensate for his lack of ability to use his sword, tendrils or fire. While he could theoretically take on Ember with his sword, the mist made it nigh impossible to continuously do so. She swept out her sword-spear and cool mist flowed after it.

Kaminari shot off some lightning and it struck a disc on the wall, electrifying it. With the rubber formed inside his forearms, Kaikiban took a gambit and dug his hand into the shocked metal, the electricity flowing into his hand and up to his elbow. The right arm of his Hero Costume wasn't made resistant enough and it peeled away leaving his arm bare.

"Dude! Why are you so shredded?" Kaminari asked, genuinely shocked at his muscles.

"Just like the Sports Festival." Kaikiban told the blonde; disregarding the question, his hair had come loose from its ponytail. Ember cut downwards with her weapon and a trail of mist shot along the floor and solidified into ice, he reared back a punch and shattered it, releasing the electricity through it. She dropped her sword-spear as she retreated up and away. Not letting up, he jumped after her and struck an erected ice barrier.

"Blizzard." Ember said cooly as a bluster on fast mist pushed him into the floor. The mist enveloped his body and dulled his enhanced senses back to normal. A faint smell of ozone hit his nose and Kaminari came into the mist, his hand was crackling.

^I learnt this with Atsuki and Nimbus. A concentrated punch!^ He had a disc in his hand and was flowing all of his electricity to it. "Million-Volt-Thunder-Punch!" The punch was caught by Kaikiban and the mist crackled around them, sending blue, yellow and green sparkles all over the place. "C'mon! You caught that?! I thought you said the mist weakens things?!" He called up to Ember, who was standing casually on a thin beam of ice, an armoury of floating icicles were above them.

"It does. He's just that strong." She informed him, "now back off." Flicking her hand, the icicles rained down and stabbed into Kaikiban and the floor around him. Kai had to thank himself for hardening his suit and body, he could have been killed; only the tips of the icicles had hit his back and only two had stuck.

"Yeah. Back off!" Kaikiban punched Kaminari in the stomach and sent him sprawling. The disc had attached itself to his hand, which then dropped off as he regrew it. Mist coiled around him and blocked the downed boy from his view.

"I cannot let you capture Kaminari." She loomed. Frost formed on his arms and legs as she went to capture him.

^I won't let her get me. Her mist has a thicker density to air, so flying is actually easier, but there's not enough. But I still have a lot of power in my legs for take off!^ He thought, bounding to a wall of the hidden area, kicking off it and to another, before grasping Ember and slamming her into a different wall. His bones kept him up. "Got you." Mist formed on his stomach and he was wretched away and over the wall.

"Kaminari." She looked down to him, he was on his feet now.

"I'm... I'm okay." He gave a thumbs up, stepping onto a provided platform and they went after him.

Kaikiban landed hard on the top of an industrial tower. His cloak had become a hinderance by that point and he undid the button, it caught the wind and flew off.

^I'll have to get that later.^ An icicle flew his way and he caught it easily.

^He couldn't avoid that earlier, he really is weakened by the mist.^ Kaminari mentally noted as they arrived on the scene.

"Seems like you're serious now." Ember stated, her coat swayed loosely around her shoulders before she removed it. "Now none of us have an external layer." Her bare arms had frost running up them. "Now, freeze."

"I wouldn't bet on it." Kaikiban lowered into a crouch and thought deeply.

"Kaikiban, do you want to know more about our Quirk?" Mei asked me one night. I was dreaming again and she approached me.

"I do." I obviously responded.

"You know it harbours nature within it. Anything biological is ours to choose. Restricted by our knowledge. But the possibility of creation lies deep within us. Truth be told, I mess around as a stupid child and... you came to be." She told me easily. "I'd discovered Relinquish when I was six and played around with it, but I unknowingly took a step I shouldn't've and fractured my mind and warped my form. And you came into being."

"Why are you telling me this?" I had asked concerned over this new knowledge.

"Because it will be useful to remove your limit sometimes. That's what it amounts to. Use of Adaptation without restrictions for a limited time. You just have to dig deep into the Quirk and pull it out."

"It sounds very useful."

"It really just sures out limits past even hysterical strength. You know how it activates right?"

"We breathe in oxygen and concentrate."

"Do you know how the growth occurs though?"

"I don't actually know."

"Well... within every cell of our body, there is a type of fuel created by our Quirk. That mixes with oxygen and can lead to spontaneous transformation. It basically transforms them into fast forming stem cells, allowing us to create anything biological so long as we know it's structure." Kakumeiso had told me. "And since it's a reaction at heart, with oxygen, it's only reasonable that steam is the result. Gaseous water."

"You know an awful lot about our Quirk." I responded, highly intrigued into how our Quirk truly works. "What about the mental side of things?"

"That's just an offshoot of our criminal father's Emotional Divide. It's just a will or mistake and then boom! A personality is created, same thing to remove it too. That's why One's gone. He ran his course and I got rid of him."

"Does that mean I can just be removed too?"

"Funnily enough, no. You're a part of the original mind and you grew out from there. You're as real as I am, Kaikiban. For us, it's symbiosis. For them, it's domination." My 'sister' had told me. The information dump had been slightly overwhelming, but from that time, it's made my use of Adaptation more focused. And the ability to use Relinquish came with that knowledge.

Since then, I have managed to use it a couple of times, requiring immense concentration but the result is worth it. Kakumeiso can use it better than me, with less effort, it is her body after all, but it is a definite marked improvement in my performance.

The move itself raises my body's temperature to abnormal levels and causes my veins to glow as a side-effect of the heat and the combination of my Quirk's fuel and oxygen at such a heat.

Ember and Kaminari's arm hairs stood on end as the veins in Kaikiban's arm began to light up along it; the ragged scar seemed to glow and bulge.

"Ultimate Move: Relinquish!" He announced. "One minute, then back to normal." The kickoff from the floor brought him face to face with an already reacting Ember, mist spun around her and allowed her to quickly back off. Tendrils sprouted from his back and hunted her down, being frozen then severed quickly.

^Just a bit more...!^ She thought to herself. Kaminari had covered himself in lightning and ran at Kaikiban.

"That doesn't work!" He responded, flinging out a wall of sap. The boy managed to dodge back and the B student enlarged his arms multiple times their original size and swiped them out, the sheer range forced the two of them out of Kaminari's range for his discs and Ember had to block a slam. This was followed by a whoosh as Kaikiban rocketed himself at her with his flames and crashed into her.

"Blizzard!" She yelled, sending billows of mist out at him to force him away, only helping slightly. Ember covered herself with the gas and controlled it telekinetically to help her fly out of his reach. His wings had formed and he was keeping pace in the air. ^Shit, he's been running me through a wringer.^ She coughed once and wiped away the slight amount of blood. ^It shouldn't be long now!^

Kaikiban felt his body calm down as 'Relinquish' wore off and he slowed, descending quickly to Kaminari.

"Not happening!" Was the response and he shot up his second to last disc, and with his other hand, shot off his electricity. Kaikiban dodged it and formed a claw with steam.

"Got you." He growled, but he missed the strike as Kaminari was yanked to the side by hardened mist. He crashed into the floor and got up with a roll, facing off against the two of them again. "You're both on your last legs." He huffed.

"Then come and get us." Ember taunted; Kaikiban readied to leapt at them, but widened his eyes as he coughed blood.

"What-!" He recoiled, his entire body had gone stiff and dull. Adaptation seemed to falter as he breathed to try and use it.

"Now!" She yelled, flowing extremely cold mist across the metal, the contraction of it sent cracks into it. "Absolute Winter." Kaikiban was frozen to the metal as the mist wrapped around him and cooled him down. His senses were worse than what they were unenhanced by that point and he couldn't move. "Kaminari!"

^I still have oxygen stores in my body with this effect on me, I can't use my Quirk without it. And I have just enough for one final move!^ He rose his hand to his mouth.

"Million-Volt-" Kaminari was cut off as steam overtook the mist and pushed him back. A giant partially muscles skeleton had formed. It swept at them and took Ember off her feet.

"He still had enough in him for this?!" She said shocked. It looked completely unpolished, and there wasn't any place for him to hide. "It's a move of desperation!" She flew over it, pulling Kaminari with her.

"t Ultimate Move: Crackling Snowstorm!" They said in unison as Kaminari was shot down to the recovering Kaikiban, lightning and mist covering him. The impact sent the mist sprawling over the metal and cloaked them both.

^That was part one!^ Kaminari thought. ^It's Blizzard into Million-Volt-Thunder-Punch!^ The lightning spread across the mist and caused it to disperse in sparkles. He hit the floor beside their opponent. "Whey whey!" He gave the floating girl the thumbs up.

"Did it work?" She hoped, the mist blocking her view parted and it revealed Kaikiban. His body was encased in ice and frost, he was looking stunned and unconscious. "We... we did it!"

"Whey!" Kaminari got up and had the stupid as fuck expression on.

"^Now to get him back.^" She coughed, wiping away more blood. "^Damn. He really is strong.^" The ice encasing him made him float and she pulled Kaminari to her.

"Huh?" He looked over to the partial titan. Scales pelted them and Kaminari fell off the now flying ice.

"Kaminari! Wha-" Ember protected herself from the scales with her arm and had to leave him behind as she took Kaikiban back to their cage. Hiryu was still shooting scales at her as she went. ^I'm sorry, Kaminari. I can't save you. Tsuyu, Shinso, you need to catch one more.^ She coughed again as she dropped the defeated Kaikiban off in the slammer.

"No way. You beat him?!" Tsuburaba asked shocked.

"Barely." She wheezed. "We lost Kaminari though."

"So we're still in the lead." Wide Eyes smirked.

Hiryu hauled Kaminari back to the jail and got him in there.

"Whey!" The boy went.

"Shit. Losing Kai's bad." Running came from behind him. Shiozaki was alone. "Where's Shishida-kun?"

"He's captured! Head hit. Multiple times." She told him, getting very close. "Where's Genyu-kun?"

"Captured. It's three-three then. And, what are you doing?" He asked, as she began to wrap them in a large ball of vines.

"We have lost out best bet at locating them, so we must draw this out to a standstill. It is a heretical thing, so please punish me later, but we cannot let our class down." She went on, enveloping the complete area in wide stretching vines.

"Can you just attempt to capture? Ember-chan's completely out of it now and Asui-chan and Shinso-kun can't penetrate this." Hiryu went on.

"I will try. Or maybe they'll see sense in what I'm doing and allow it to be a draw, lest they lose." She told him.

"That's fair I guess." He nodded. "I'm basically at full health though. With a strategy, I-"

"No. They have two capture types. You'll be caught and we will lose." She hardened her voice. "We'll. Stay. Here."

"Okay."

"Shiozaki-chan's extending her vines out quite far, ribbit." Tsuyu noted, a finger to her chin.

"That makes it almost impossible to get to her without being caught." Shinso responded.

"And since Andrea is basically out of commission, we can't break them. Seems like a stalemate, ribbit." They headed back to the jail cell, where Andrea was breathing slowly. "You okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah. I'll recover." She gave a thumbs up. "Is it a draw?"

"It's better than losing." Shinso took off his mask. "Rin-kun won't go in alone."

"Then it's a stalemate." The wheezing girl concluded, the same as Tsuyu.

"And with a time out, the first match has been taken to a draw!" Vlad King announced, a tear in his eye. "1-B fought so eloquently, but was halted by 1-A's efforts!"

"Stalling like that isn't like Ibara." Atsuki stated curiously.

"It was a viable strategy that didn't deceive anyone, unlike the first one they had." Monoma pointed out. They waited and watched as Kaikiban was wheeled away on a stretcher by two robots. Ember was sat in a chair being escorted as she wasn't in any way fit to move. The now remaining students were lined up.

"Tell me what you learned." Aizawa said.

"Don't charge in against a binding type and if my opponent doesn't want to fight, my Quirk can't do anything." Kirishima said, removing his headpiece.

"I need to give more specific instructions to my bugs." Koda sighed quietly.

"Whey! Whey!" Kaminari gave his Homeroom teacher thumbs up, Jiro was trying not to burst out laughing.

"Things got very chaotic and stayed chaotic after the initial engagement. The best we could do was a stalemate, else we ran the course of losing six-three to Shiozaki-chan's vines." Asui told them.

"After everything I learned... I couldn't even put a fraction of it to use. It's frustrating." Shinso looked to the binding cloth. Aizawa then encouraged him and told his students what they needed to improve on.

"If Ember-chan were here, then I'd have told her to not be so frontal and reckless, even if she had the numbers advantage. It resulted in the draw." He concluded. The Class B students were next up. Vlad King was looming.

"And now you four." He had his arms folded.

"I need to be more proactive and not just a glorified dog playing fetch." Hiryu said in embarrassment.

"Being out in the open with my Quirk's only good if I can see them coming." Tsuburaba noted.

"I must work past my desires to not be deceitful in my actions, however that may punish me." Shiozaki clasped her hands together.

"Rushing in alone's only good for one opponent. Two and things get tricky." Shishida stated.

"All true." Their teacher stated. "And you know what I'm about to say next." They nodded. "WAS SHISHIDA YOUR CENTRAL PILLAR OR SHIOZAKI?! WITH CONSOLIDATED LEADERSHIP, YOU COULD HAVE WON, but a draw is also good." He added on the end to keep them in good spirits.
