Watch out! She’s a hugger!

I’m back for day 9 of MerMay with the theme of “Best Buddy”! For whatever reason I thought Fumio would be perfect for this because I’m pretty sure she can get along with almost anyone, and because it would be fun to draw a character looking like they were about to jump out of the screen about to hug the viewer. Because, Fumio.

For her design I decided to give her a gray tail with the blue pattern on the trim of MerMay pants spiraling up it, along with a blue and gold fin to keep the color scheme of her shoes. As for her top, I just decided to have a bit of fun with it seeing that a sweater wouldn’t translate too well onto a mermaid, although I decided to keep it blue. I knew she also needed to keep her heart locket, although I decided that it would better if she didn’t have her normal crossbody purse so I just kinda had to delete that one. I’m also still experimenting with backgrounds like I said in my previous post, though I really like this one! I was also really inspired my Ariel from The Little Mermaid and her cave so if it looks similar you know where I got it from. Either way, that’s about all I have to say, so here’s some art!
