”nemesis,”
My name is Nemesis
You unfortunate girl
Born an enemy of the people
She is to be respected feared
The goddess of revenge
Men dare not cross her path
Many desire her power
Nemesis
She decides the penalty
She is the judge, and juror
Your crimes will not go unnoticed
Your actions will not go unpunished
I am called the avenger
In matters of hubris
In matters of pride
In matters of love
I am called the divine punisher
The gods cannot escape her
Mortal, you dare defy her?
What makes you think you can hide
where she will not find you?
”the tragedy of narcissus,”
My fate is sealed
Her harsh, red eyes engraved into my soul
I fall before her.
“Do you know who i am?”
I had heard legends
They must be only stories
They had to be.
O goddess, sing of thy retribution
Sing of mortals foolish and coy
Thine eyes see all
Thy mind forgets none
Sing, o goddess, of thy fateful day
Of the mortal youth who sits by the lake
O goddess, sing of thy hate
of the boy who sends girls to their death
with a careless word
O goddess, have mercy on him
He is mortal, foolish
Inconsequential to your legacy
May he not learn to live with his consequences?
Sing, o muse, of the tragedy of Narcissus
