Hello everyone! Today (March 20, 2022) is the day of the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere. I love the spring and autumn seasons, and the equinoxes are among my favorite days of the year. The spring equinox is one of two days per year when day and night are equal and balanced. We'll talk about the spring equinox today, some deities associated with it (and spring in general), and some ways to celebrate it!

In the days to come, all the way until the summer solstice in June, the days will begin to be longer than the nights. At this time of year, we celebrate the return of the sun, the return of warmth, and the return of light. The warmth and light mean that the grasses and flowers will begin to grow in earnest, baby animals will be born, and new life has begun to emerge on the earth.

The spring equinox also has astrological significance, as it occurs when the sun reaches 0° of Aries, the first sign in the zodiac, thus marking the astrological new year.

Rituals for the Spring Equinox typically focus on the symbolism of new life and fresh starts. The beauty of celebrating the seasons, nature, and the moon phases is that a new opportunity for a fresh start always comes with each cycle.
