Hi everyone! Welcome to my

first post for Tea Spill where

we give you some facts on

various topics. This month's

topic is "Magic" so I decided

to tell you about some magic

deities.

According to Herodotus, the words "magic" and

"magicians" come from the Persian language.

Outside of Persia, magic was considered to be

the domain of women.

The first and rather the most

famous magic deity is :

                                  ᎻᎬᏟᎪͲᎬ

              - The Greek goddess of darkness,

                witchcraft and the world of

                supernatural beings.

               - She was identified with other deities:

                Artemis and Selene, Persephone and

                even Demeter.

                                      ҒᎡᎬᎫᎪ

              - Norse goddess of love, fertility and

                magic. According to myths, she is

                considered the most beautiful of the

                goddesses.

               - Freya often took the form of a falcon.

              - At the table of the warriors in Valhalla,

                she occupied a place equal to Odin.

               - She had the power to turn people into

                wild boars.

               - The fifth day of the week comes from

                her name in many Germanic

                languages: Friday (in English), Freitag

                (in German) - Frei day.

                                      ᎪΝᎠᎪᎫ

               - The Lithuanian god of magic,

                 sometimes considered the supreme

                 god ( antdievis ). The ruler of the dark

                 sky, protector of priests.

                - Identified with the serpent god.

                                  ᎷᎪᎡᎠႮᏦ

              - The patron deity of Babylon, the most

                important in this pantheon, son of the

                god Enki / Ea, consort of the goddess

                Sarpanitu.

               - Was associated with the planet

                Jupiter.

               - He was the patron saint of magic,

                 wisdom, water, and the judiciary.

                                      ᏔᎬᏞᎬՏ

              - Slavic underground god of magic,

                oaths, arts, crafts, and, above all, wealth.

              - Weles is also associated with cattle

                because it was a measure of wealth,

                over which he was ruling

              - All people swore by Weles except

                warriors who swore by Perun .

                               ᎷϴᎡᎡᏆᏀᎪΝ

                - Celtic goddess of magic, the

                  underworld, war and destruction.

                  She is usually depicted wearing armor

                   and gear.

                 - She is also associated as raven or crow

                - Morrigan is one of the four goddesses

                  of war. There are also Macha, Nemain

                  and Badb.

                                  ᏟᎪᎡᎷᎪΝ

                - In Celtic mythology, the goddess of

                  evil magic.

                - She had three sons named Dub ("dark"),

                  Dother ("evil") and Dian ("violence")

                  who plundered Ireland.

                - She was defeated by the powerful

                  sorceress Bechuille. Carman's sons

                  were killed and she was chained and

                  died of despair.

                 - Until the 11th century, Oenach Carmain

                  was celebrated every three years on

                  August 1 in the Wexford area in honor

                  of Carman.

Marduk [and Enlil] was Kytheya's counterpart [Kytheyah is my oc] in my story. He was killed by her, after she'd destroyed his tower at Babilon [with Sütheth, God in my book] throwing a powerful lightning destroying forever the structure. Always in my story
