Japanese mythology is a rich collection of legends, folklore, and mythical creatures that have shaped the beliefs and culture of the Japanese people for centuries.

It encomes a wide range of stories about gods, spirits, heroes, and supernatural beings.

At the center of Japanese mythology are the kami, divine spirits or gods who are believed to inhabit the natural world.

These kami can embody elements of nature such as mountains, rivers, trees, and animals, as well as abstract concepts like fertility, luck, and wisdom.

Some prominent kami include:

Amaterasu

Amaterasu, the sun goddess and ruler of the heavens;

Susanoo, the god of storms and seas;

Tsukuyomi

and Tsukuyomi, the moon god.
