『Hera is the Greek goddess of marriage, women, childbirth, majesty, royalty and the queen of heaven. She was born from the union of the Greek titans, Kronos and Rhea. In Hera's early years she didn't have a chance to experience the wonders of childhood due to her being swallowed by her father Kronos as a newborn baby. Well through the help of her brother Zeus and mother Rhea, she didn't stay in his stomach for long.』

『Hera was then said to be raised by the primordial god Ouranos and his titan wife Tethys. As she was developing to be this mature young regal women, her beauty had caught the eye of Zeus. His advances to her had failed and were rejected at first so Zeus resorted to a trick to win her favors. On one particular day on Mount Olympus, Hera was just indoors from the storm going on outside. Which Zeus most likely caused and he took this opportunity to play on Hera's nurturing side. He metamorphosed himself into a cuckoo bird with an injured wing. When Hera had caught eye of this bird she had grown sympathetic and brought the bird to her bosom. Zeus then saw the chance for him to change back into a humanoid and then actaully...rape Hera. From the shame of this being done to her she had married him.』

『After Hera was officially made Zeus's wife, she was now seen as the queen of the gods and goddesses of Olympus. She was given the same amount of respect as her husband Zeus would be given due to their status. Through their union Ares(god of war), Hebe(goddess of youth) and Eileithyia(goddess of childbirth) had been born. Even though Hera was a goddess of Marriage, her own marriage wasn't the most exceptional. Zeus would frequently cheat on her with mortals, immortals and nymphs alike. Hera couldn't take her anger out on Zeus due to his power being stronger than hers so she went for the offspring of these adulterous unions instead.』

『The most well-known child of Zeus that she tried to ruin was no other than the demigod Hercules. Here's a list of what she tried to do. When Hercules's mother was giving birth, Hera had given an order to the goddess of childbirth to cross her legs so that it would be difficult for Hercules to be born. That failed because he had been born anyways but not first though which did cut his chances to inheriting the throne as king from his father. Next, Hera had sent a poisonous snake to the crib of Hercules with the intent to end him but that failed too because he actually ended up choking the snake to death. It didn't stop here though because soon as Hercules had become an adult, got him a wife, a few kids and when his life was running smoothly that's when Hera just sent the spirit of madness his way. This spirit caused him to murder his wife and children. Leaving him with a not so great reputation but later on they compromised their differences and she had allowed for him to marry her daughter Hebe. A cool mythological theory is that Zeus or Hermes had brought baby Hercules to a sleeping Hera and allowed him access to breastfeed from her. This caused for Hera to wake from her sleep and seeing the child Hercules made her push him off of her but through this some milk spurted out, making our milky way.』

『Immortals weren't spared when it came to Hera's wrath. There was a goddess by the name Leto that had caught the eye of the king of the gods. After Zeus had finished spending alone time with Leto, it didn't take long for her to get pregnant(with twins at that). Hera had ordered for every mortal, immortal and animal to not allow for Leto to rest on their land so she couldn't give birth to her children. There was also a dragon chasing her so that sucked too. It took awhile before Leto could find a place release her twins from her womb but she eventually came upon an island called Delos. She had given birth to Artemis first but when it came to giving birth to Apollo there were some issues. Hera had locked the goddess of birth in a room, which was preventing Leto from receiving the assistance she needed. Artemis helped her though and Apollo had been born into the world with his hair golden. When Apollo and Artemis were finally given their spots as Olympians, Hera had no choice but to accept them into her life.』

『When the Trojan war had been taking place, all of the Olympian gods and goddesses had participated in the war. Hera was on the side of the Greeks with her brother Poseidon, step-daughter Athena, and her son Ares(but he switched back and forth frequently). Hera was helping the Greeks due to Paris poor choice and she had finally been given the opportunity to get back at him through this war. There was one time where Hera asked Aphrodite for her girdle so that it could enhance her beauty. Hera seduced her husband Zeus into sleeping with her so that when he has fallen under Hypnos dust from their love-making then she could attack the Trojans with the help of Poseidon.』

↬The Greek pantheon↫

Hera is shown respect and given loyalty by her fellow Olympians because of her status as queen. Even though they are required to treat her with respect, they are not to keen with what she had done to a few of them in the past but they compromise. Only few are allowed to be close to her and get more personal.

↬Hera & Zeus↫

They have really complicated relationship. It's beyond unhealthy but Hera seems to continue to stay while Zeus does not cut the cheating. He doesn't leave her because maybe he really does love her but wants to be able to be granted free to get his rocks as well. Zeus has been reported to abuse Hera physically on occasions and even though he has done that she still does not take her anger out on him but through his children.

↬Hera & Ares↫

Hera only dislikes Ares because Zeus isn't that fond of him and she has to appease to her husband. She still is a mother to her son but not in the nurturing sense but from afar and distant.

↬Hera & Hephaestus ↫

Now, Hephaestus still has not forgiven his mother for throwing him from off of Mount Olympus as a newborn. They compromise with each other but Hera is still ashamed to have a son such as him and to be known as his mother.

↬Foreign pantheons↫

Hera isn't quite open to pantheons that she does not at least have the highest rank in. It makes her feel uncomfortable but she wouldn't show that she was. Hera would still be be the regal queen she had always been.

↬Mortals↫

Hera does answer the prayer of mortals but she does not choose to hang around a being lesser than her. She has no issue destroying a mortal if they disrespect her or happen to be victim of her wrath and fury for being Zeus's secret lover.

          ┊   ↳ Well I wanted to go for a fresh start and go a new route on a character to do, on my return here. I had thoughts on g for Psyche as well but I begin to lean more towards Hera. I believe that I could bring a side of her character that isn't shown often but I won't try to stir her too far from that jealous aspect of her because it is still there.

［ I've been roleplay for about a good 6 months. I begin the journey of role-playing in this group actaully. I've roleplayed as Offical gods/Goddesses on in this group before and I can say that I'm quite decent at the skill. ］

Describe your character

. . . 〉Hera is a married goddess at the end of the day. Her marriage is everything to her even though it wouldn't be considered healthy to most. She loves the idea of being a wife, especially to the king of the gods because it brings her own status high and it creates this border around her. Hera is unconditionally loyal by default due to that being in her nature to be. Her ambitions are high and she knows how to get exactly what she wants, if needed to. Hera experiences jealous quite often and most are caused by her husband Zeus infidelities. She does shed tears, yes but in the privacy of her four golden walls of her brilliant, shared palace with Zeus. When in the public eye of the Olympians she is their queen.

On the high mountain of Olympus, the home of the infinite gods and goddesses; The divine Olympians were in the counsel/throne room discussing the world affairs of the mortals below. A particular goddess though was missing from the equation. The queen of the deathless immortals was in her room alone. Wrapped in her own company just for a moment to calm down and recollect herself.

Hera's reflection stared back at her in the vanity mirror, that her son Hephaestus had created for her as a gift. Tears rolled down her soft cheeks, dripping from her heavenly chin then to her garments. She had just been told once more by her husband in a fit of rage that there was yet another bastard child that's been born and that she must accept it. Did he know how embrassing this was for her? To have everyone know that her womb isn't good enough for even her own husband to love.

"Why does he consistently contuine to bring shame to our marriage? Why did he want to be married in the first place if...he didn't really love me for me? Is there something wrong with me?! I'm a goddess, a queen, an immortal but he still chooses to keep the bed warm of a worthless mortal maiden and have the nerve to have a child with them. " Hera said the last sentence with utter disgust, just the mere thought made her sick to her stomach. "Maybe...he does this because he knows I wouldn't ever leave.."

"Excuse, thy majesty?.." the voice of a female had came from the entrance of the room. Hera quickly wiped her tears with her hands from her eyes. She didn't want to be caught in such a vulnerable state in the presence of anyone who isn't her. Hera turned to see the rainbow messenger goddess Iris staring back at with a concern expression on her facial features.

"Haven't you heard of knocking before entering?!" Hera said with frustration and annoyance clear in her tone. She was really just worried underneath that maybe she might have been figures out.

"Sorry, your majesty. The counsel told me to call for you to come back and give your thoughts," Iris said carefully, hoping to not upset the queen any further.

"Alright, I'll be there in a minute." Hera said, then turning to her vanity mirror once more to see if it appeared as if she was crying. Her cheeks were slighty flush but with a snap of the finger she looked as if not even one tear had touched her cheek.
