The defending Nascar Cup Series champion has finally made his triumphant return back into victory lane for the first time since punching his ticket into the championship 4 at Martinsville during the 2023 season and the inaugural race at Iowa Speedway showed the entire NASCAR community on why he's a champion! Ryan Blaney was easily the best performing driver throughout the race at Iowa Speedway as the 12 Team Penske Ford led the most laps of 201 and winning stage 1 while holding off the hard charging Hendrick Motorsports duo of William Byron and Chase Elliott during the closing laps of the race before claiming the first ever Nascar Cup Series win at Iowa Speedway! This is Ryan Blaney's 11th career win in the Nascar Cup Series and his first win of the 2024 season, which locks the 12 Team Penske Ford into the Nascar Cup Series playoffs for the seventh consecutive season!

Ryan Blaney might have been the best performing driver at Iowa Speedway, but Kyle Larson was the quickest driver throughout the race as the 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet looked to be the car to beat until a late-race accident took him out of the picture. The 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet was the strongest car during the first 2 stages, which saw Kyle Larson start from pole position, lead 80 laps, and winning stage 2 but unfortunately his chances of winning went down the drain due to a late-race crash. This is Kyle Larson's 3rd finish outside the top 30 during the 2024 Nascar Cup Series season that unfortunately drops him down to 2nd in the championship standings and he'll look to try to regain the top spot during next weekend's race at Loudon.
