The Paint Scheme That Never Raced Episode 70 - Terry Labonte's 2014 C&J Energy Services Ford

The 2014 Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway was the end of an era as the two-time Nascar Cup Series champion Terry Labonte was making his 890th and final start before retiring at the end of 188 laps in AL. Go Fas Racing wanted to honor Terry Labonte during his final Nascar Cup Series start by running a special throwback paint scheme that commemorated his Cup Series championship victories from 1984 and 1996. The paint scheme did participate in the scheduled group qualifying session at Talladega Superspeedway, which saw Terry Labonte advance into the final round and claimed the 9th starting spot for his final start. Unfortunately, the throwback paint scheme was disallowed for the race as Nascar stated that all cars must be painted in the same color to avoid any potential safety concerns that ultimately forced him to start from the rear and claimed 33rd place finish.
