Defending His Crown

William Byron makes history in the 2025 Daytona 500 as the driver of the 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet became the youngest repeat winner of the Great American race and the fifth driver to achieve this accomplishment after surviving the last lap carnage! The 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet ran pretty well throughout the race during the 2025 Daytona 500, which saw William Byron ran inside the top 10 for the majority of the race while leading 10 laps before avoiding all the mayhem on the backstretch that helped him secure his second Harley J Earl Trophy! This is William Byron's 14th career win in the Nascar Cup Series and his first win of the season, which locks the two-time Daytona 500 champion into the Nascar Cup Series playoffs for the seventh straight season!

Almost The Perfect Number 2

Austin Cindric began the 2025 Nascar Cup Series season on a very strong note as the former Daytona 500 champion was easily the best driver throughout the race at Daytona but unfortunately he fell one lap short from capturing his second Harley J Earl Trophy. The 2 Team Penske Ford started the race from 2nd place and ran pretty strong throughout the day at Daytona International Speedway, which saw Austin Cindric lead the most laps of 59 and run inside the top 10 all race long but his chances of winning were dashed by the final lap carnage on the backstretch. Austin Cindric was able to take the checkered flag in 8th place that helped him secure 3rd in the point standings after the 2025 Daytona 500 as the 2 team will look to keep the momentum going at Atlanta.

A New Year With Even More Problems

The newly crowned 3-time Nascar Cup Series champion established his dominance during the first half of the 2025 Daytona until electrical problems flipped Joey Logano's race upside down that ultimately led to the 22 Team Penske Ford by late-race accident. Joey Logano started the race from 10th place and immediately dominated the first half of the 2025 Daytona 500, which saw the 22 Team Penske Ford lead 43 of the first 70 laps until electrical problems dropped Joey Logano to the rear of the field where the newly crowned 3-time champion was ultimately taken out. This is Joey Logano's 5th career retirement from the Great American race that, unfortunately left him with 35th place finish and currently sitting 17th in the point standings as the series heads off to race 2 at Atlanta.
