In 2003, Yao Ming got selected by the fans as an All-Star starter at the center position for the Western Conference with over 1.2 million votes which seems polarizing and it did left some bad taste among other people since Shaquille O'Neal was the best center in the NBA at that time and he should've been the starter instead of Yao.
We all know how popular Yao was during his career as he is right up there with Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James among others but this 2003 voting is just a bit off.
