#ACVillager entry - Matty

Hey pals!

Here's my entry for the #ACVillager contest!

I'm not really good with animals and rushed this drawing as I'm also busy working on another piece, which is why it looks kinda crappy and low in quality, but I hope you still like it!

How I made him

I decided to make a rat villager because rats are one of my favorite animals and need more love. I know there are mice in AC, but whatever, I still wanted a rat. I kinda have a thing for edgy characters also, which is the reason for his design, but later decided I'd love him to be cute in personality, but still kept his design because I like the contrast between edginess and cuteness. I also chose red as his "signature color" because it's my favorite color.

The drawing itself was done with prismacolors mostly, except for the background and highlight in his eye, which were made with an aquarelle pencil and white gel roller.

Matty in the game

Matty is a friendly villager who likes to make friends and play his guitar. You can see him walk around in the village a lot or play his guitar at the beach or plaza. If you talk to him, he'll talk about his hobbies or food most of the time.

His house looks like a music studio, and you can find some instruments there, of course. His goal is to become a famous musician one day.
