Indie World OFFICIAL RECAP - December 10th 2019

Yesterday, we have an indie direct!

I’m sure some of you didn’t know but yesterday there was a new Indie World. But don’t fret! I’ll be recapping everything just for you all! So please enjoy.

To start the Indie World, we got an official announcement for Sidebar Games’ new game - Sports Story. A sequel to their Golf Story last year. Except, this time, it is not just golf.. no! It’s a full on RPG, dungeon crawler with Golf... Tennis, Football, Volleyball, and so much more.

Sports Story will come out first on Nintendo Switch, mid-2020!

Lizardcube, in association with SEGA, are releasing a new Streets of Rage sequel which will be making its way on to the Nintendo Switch. Beat em all up alone or with friends, just like the classics.

Streets of Rage 4 will be out in the first half of 2020, for Nintendo Switch.

This Metroidvania game takes place in the world of glass, which has been stained in darkness. It’s up to you to save it. This game looks a lot like Hollow Knight, so if you like that, you’re either gonna like this or be upset that they nearly blatantly copied the art-style.

Anyway, Gleamlight releases for the Switch in Early 2020!

You liked Overcooked? Well imagine that but it’s a multiplayer brawler to bake the dough first. You either work together or go against each other in PVP. Either way, don’t try this with any slightly insecure relationships or friendships - you will lose them!

Bake ‘N Switch comes out in Summer 2020.

We like games here, right? A lot of different genres too. Well, imagine if you could play a game with games within the game which are different genres? Well SuperMash is exactly that! You get a procedurally generated SuperMash with a random arrangement of genres, and the game creates itself. There’s pretty much something for every type of gamer. You can also submit yours and share them around.

SuperMash comes out as soon as May of next year!

The Talos Principle is a classic puzzle game in the perspective of the first person, you go around an island to solve the mysteries of it with puzzles scattered around the realistic, gorgeous world.

If any of that interests you, then look no further, it came out yesterday, so you can get it right now.

Sail the seven seas on a boat, and use your boat and coordination skills to defeat other ships. It takes a lot of skill. Fight your friends, or even customise your own boat, weapons and all that, with Sail Forth and its gorgeous art-style.

Murder By Numbers is like Picross in a Phoenix Wright game but with really anime designs - more than Phoenix Wright ever had. That’s all I have to really say. If you’re not sold by that, you probably won’t be more convinced. But seriously, take on a murder mystery in California 1990s and uncover the truth, with plenty of number based minigames.

Murder By Numbers will unravel itself Early 2020.

An old classic, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath gets a HD version coming to the Nintendo Switch. In this classic, you take on the adventure of Stranger, a fearsome bounty hunter with a gun that shoots out bugs and insects.

Ok so imagine Tony Hawk Pro Skater or Skate 3.. but with birds? That’s the game. You can unlock different birds to skate around the room with. Do all kinds of tricks to impress everyone. Yes, this exists. And it looks super fun.

Liberated is an action/adventure side scrolling game with a gorgeously stylistic looking game, something straight out of a comic, or graphic novels.

Liberated will liberate itself on the Switch in 2020.

A dungeon crawler RPG game where you play as a girl, who has swords who can become single men, and you can date your single men swords. Personally, I’ll wait for the sequel; Girlfriend Simulator.

Boyfriend Simulator comes out, also, in 2020.

Dreamscaper is an ARPG Roguelite, blending elements from brawlers, top-down shooters, and dungeon crawlers. Every sleep, is a procedurally generated level. You play as a young woman called Cassidy, as you jump in her dreams to fight off her depression by destroying her nightmares.

Dreamscaper comes out in early 2020!

The Survivalists is a new game from Team17, where you are on a top down pixel art world, and you have to, well..survive! You can have friends in your world too with online.

To finish the show, they revealed the sequel to a little indie game called Axiom Verge. Well, Axiom Verge was a massive indie back in the day, one of the original indie metroidvanias. We don’t know much about it, but it’s very big that they announced this since many Axiom Verge fans wanted this.

Axiom Verge 2 is slated for a Fall 2020 release.

Hope you all enjoyed the summary. A pretty solid show, in my opinion. Sports Story and Axiom Verge 2 are pretty big in the world of Indies and SkateBIRD certainly has me unironically interesting.
