Today I'm here to talk to you about Blocking the Moderation team.

Why?

Recently we found out some of our have blocked one or more of our staff and we thought it would be a good idea to make a quick little post about it.

Blocking

Blocking is when you set up your profile so a certain person cannot communicate with you. This can include DMs, Wall messaging, and commenting. Usually people block others when they are being harassed or feel threatened by said person. Please feel free to block people if they won't stop harassing you, but also let the staff know about said harassment. We are here to make this amino a safe place.

Why You Shouldn't Block Mods

Blocking mods can prevent you from receiving announcements from the amino, which means you could be missing out on event information, rule upgrades or other things we think you should be seeing. We announce things for a reason, sometimes they're for fun but other time they are used for serious and important matters. Yes, our amino is low on activity at the moment, but that doesn't mean we don't have important things to announce. Blocking mod prevents you from seeing these announcements and receiving important information.

Why You Can't Block Mods

On this amino it is prohibited that you block any moderation member, Leader or Curator. We are here to do our jobs and communicate with you all. If you block one or all of us, we cannot communicate with you. This doesn't make you totally invincible, instead it makes us harder for us to get a message through. If you've committed an act against our guidelines, we need to message you about it. However when you block us we can't do our job. Moderation are here to help and fix issues. Our guidelines clearly state to not block any of the Moderation team.

This rule is put here for a reason, not because we want to feel superior that no one has blocked us. We need to be able to communicate with you all. That is our job as s. If you disagree with a mod, don't like them or got into an argument, that's fine. But that doesn't mean you get to block them. We aren't here to agree with you and be your best friend. We are here to do a job. Being friends is only a bonus and reward. So please, think twice beffore deciding that you want to block a mod member.
