Watching the Scream franchise with my mom | Part 2

Oh, my... time for Scream 4.

I have a decent memory of this because it was my favorite reaction!

The Opening: no matter how many times I explained it, she was so confused by the "a movie within a movie," thing. She predicted the garage crushing Marnie!

Ghostface: you're the dumb blood with the big tits.

My mom laughed and loved how Marnie explained her smarts. Unfortunately, her smarts did her no justice vs the garage door.

Sidney and Gale: She thought they aged beautifully and I agree! She was happy to see Gale still with Dewey.

Olivia's death: that entire scene had her nervous about where Ghostface was going to pop out during Kirby's phone call.

Suspects: I think she pinned Charlie from the start. She said he looked like he could play a killer lmao. Her other suspects were Trevor, Judy Hicks (after coming out of the shadows, and especially after coming out of nowhere after Kate was attacked), Rebecca (right before we see her wander off alone then my mom knew she was dead), Kate (right before her death), and last but not least...Kirby! However, she only suspected Kirby when she popped out of nowhere as Sidney was walking back into the house. Then we get another Kirby phone call!

Charlie Walker: she suspected him for the most part but she knew if it wasn't Charlie, it was for sure Robbie. She knew for a fact one of the film nerds were involved and her gut was saying Charlie. However, after his head was bashed, she was a little unsure but knew it could've been a possible setup. Especially after Kirby ran out there to untie him. She felt pretty proud guessing him.

Trevor: She suspected him mostly because he was the Billy of this movie. Considering they wanted us to think Jill was our new final girl, she figured Trevor might have been plotting against her.

Jill's reveal: It wasn't very shocking but she was a little thrown off. After Jill was no longer seen to be under the bed, my mom thought she could be a potential killer but her main thought was that Jill just hid somewhere else. I don't think she was expecting Charlie to be betrayed but she was interested in what was happening. After Sidney is stabbed for a second time, my mom was like "they can't kill her." While Jill sets up the crime scene and hurts herself, my mom kept calling her a "dumb bitch," which was funny. The reveal + self-mutilation interested her! The flashing lights in Jill's face really made my mom nervous for Sidney.

The hospital scene: As this scene went on, she was less nervous, especially after Dewey mentioned Sid having a possibility of surviving. She also knew Jill would go after her the moment Dewey left the room. Of course, she was right. As Dewey was explaining to Gale Jill's state, and talking about their matching wounds, my mom was like "Well, how does Jill know," right before Gale wondered how Jill knew she was also stabbed in the shoulder.

That reminds me.

Gales attack: my mom was like "Oh, please not Gale!!" She was really nervous for her life after what happened to Randy.

Continuing the hospital scene:

She really liked the Jill vs Sidney showdown. She knew Sidney would win in the end. However, the ending confused her when they were describing Jill as an American hero.

I really enjoyed watching the fourth film with her. I find it slightly funny she suspected everyone except Jill. The thought of her being a killer was in her mind for 0.2 seconds. I wasn't sure if she'd catch on. She would've if she never went against that 0.2-second thought she had.
