Where No One Goes, Chapter 1: The Recap (and Eret, son of Eret)

Berk, my home. Five years ago, Hiccup Haddock III defeated the Red Death. Five years later, dragons and the vikings of Berk live in harmony. That was apparent enough, as at the moment a dragon race was going on.

You may be wondering where I fit in among all of this. Well, I was a viking. Keyword: Was. When I was bitten by a Stormcutter, I was cursed to take the form of the dragon that bit me.

Ever since the death of the Queen, I have been staying in Hiccup's house along with Toothless. This morning, I caught wind of a conversation concerning Hiccup and his father. I had no interest, or business, in the talking. So, I left. Apparently, Hiccup had the same idea. Of course, I didn't know this at the time.

I was flying high in the clouds, relishing the feeling. I had promised to help Fishlegs with the baby dragons, but first, I was hungry. As I came closer to a new fishing area, I smelled something foul. It was smoke. My gut told me to not get anywhere near it, but of course, my curiosity won over. Tracking the smoke down was easy. What I discovered made my gut wrench. A dragon trapper fort. Or, what was left of it. It was covered in this blue-green ice, and footprints littered the mud. I was about to fly away when I was hit.

A net wrapped around two of my wings painfully. As I started to plummet towards the trappers, I built up gasses in my mouth and shot my fire towards them. They dove for cover, but I saw one out of my peripheral run up to me and start yelling.

"Watch the fire! Tie those two wings up!!"

What this trapper didn't realize was that my tail was free. So, when any trappers tried to get close, I just whacked them with my strong tail. The lead trapper wasn't having it, so he started to bang his dagger on some metal. Since I was technically a dragon, it gave me a massive headache. That's when I smelled four familiar scents.

Astrid, Hiccup, Stormfly, and Toothless!

I shrieked to get their attention, and it worked! Unfortunately, the trappers saw them first. Stormfly was shot out of the air with a net and Astrid was falling. Hiccup and Toothless caught her and landed on the wooden floor. Hiccup looked over at me and grumbled. I gave a sheepish smile in return. He and the other guy started to talk- I wasn't really listening.

"Let our dragons go, and we'll be on our way. Creepy dude who we have never met."

"Oh. Where are my manners? I'm Eret. Son of Eret. The greatest dragon trapper alive!"

"And this is Toothless, he says that we're leaving. Now."

Toothless shot a plasma blast at a chunk of ice, and Hiccup freed me and Stormfly before we all took off. I heard Eret scream one last thing before we were out of earshot.

"Drago is coming for them all!!"
