AJ is distant and cold, at least, that's how he would be percieved at first due to his rogue trainer nature. However, in reality, AJ is just some goofy guy with a knack for sewing, smithing, carving, and has an incredible backlog of information on dragons he's encountered on his journeys. However, beyond him and his crimson goregutter Bowhead lies a secret... as he has been noted to sneak off into the woods in the late hours of the night to visit a very particular dragon.

Trainer! He's similar to Valka in a sense, although he ran to live with dragons willingly. He has a knack with dragons, including an ability to mimic certain dragon calls.

~Family History~

Little is actually known about AJ, as he never speaks of his family. He was born in an archipelago very far northwest of Berk, and often says he was raised in a little fishing village.

~Abilities~

AJ, as he is out in the wilderness often, has well adapted senses and survival skills. Snowstorm? he's got it. Lightning? AJ can get you somewhere safe in three seconds flat. Blazing hot? he can find a safe water source.

AJ has a heavy understanding of many species of dragons, from weakpoints to behaviors.

AJ's navigation is unparalleled. It's a wonder how, even on an island he's never seen before, he can navigate it like the back of his hand in a matter of minutes. He knows where certain currents run, where to avoid, and can find the shoreline easily.

~Weaknesses~

Despite being named after a fish, AJ cannot eat fish. Makes him feel sick, and it's probably an underlying allergy

Amberjack....is not the best at doing anything without very specific instruction. If he does not know exactly what he is to be doing, he will freeze up and he will be unable to accomplish certain tasks..

He is tired about 95% of the time because the poor guy cannot sleep

He isn't really a fantastic communicator as he isn't exactly a people person. Honestly, he gets along with dragons better than people

Notes from an Anonymous Dragon Trainer

As far as relationships go with canon characters, the only solids I have are he sees Gobber as a parental figure of sorts, and he's into Snotlout. He is still in development lore-wise :broken_heart:
