After rescuing Rachel’s mom and escaping from the Asylum, it was easy enough to say that everyone needed some time to themselves, time to process and reflect everything that had happened.

Gar was a dedicated vegan and he killed someone with his teeth and swallowed the man’s blood, having more of the man’s blood on his face, hands and chest. Even after all of you got back to the safe house and he showered and scrubbed, Gar still felt as if he couldn’t get all the blood off his skin.

And you, you were basically water boarded in an attempt to gain information about your friends as well as just to torture you and make things as traumatic as possible. By the time Gar and Rachel rescued you, your lungs burned and you felt as if there was a litre of water in them. Gar went to shower when you guys got back to the safe house and your heart rate started to beat frantically because you were afraid for him. You were too scared to bring yourself to shower or bathe.

What they did to all of you within the Asylum ran deep and you all knew that there would be devastating long term effects on everyone.

Everyone took the night and kept to themselves to process everything. The next day Gar, your boyfriend, knocked on your door. The door was glass so you knew it was him. You nodded for him to come in.

Gar walked over and sat on your bed next to you, but didn’t say anything for a minute. “Do you… do you want to talk about it?” He asked softly.

You took a deep breath and looked over at him. You shook your head slowly, looking down to avoid his eyes. “No, I don’t…”

Gar nodded and let his lips twitch into a small smile. “That’s okay.”

You thanked him for understanding with a nod of your head. “Do you want to talk about it?”

Gar laughed a little and shrugged his shoulders. “Don’t worry about it.”

You nodded your head. And leaned back down onto your bed before patting the space next to you. Gar cocked an eyebrow at you and you rolled your eyes and patted the empty space again. Gar laughed and shrugged off his jacket before walked around the bed so that he could slip under the covers behind you. You rested your head down on the pillow and let Gar wrap his arm around your waist and pull you back against his chest.

“Are you okay?” Gar whispered softly from behind you.

You nodded against the pillow. “I’m better now that I have you here with me. You’re warm.” You tacked on with a laugh at the end to lighten the mood.

Gar chuckled at your comment and pressed a kiss to your shoulder. “I know. I’ll keep you warm, okay?”

You nodded. “You always do, Gar. I can always count on you for that.”

“You can always count on me period.” Gar whispered seriously.

You turned around in his arms and reached up to stroke his cheek with a small smile on your lips. “I know.”

Gar nodded and matched your smile but it didn’t reach his eyes. You sighed and leaned forwards to press a kiss to his cheek. “We’re going to be okay, okay?”

Gar nodded and pressed a kiss to the inside of your wrist. “I know.”

“Good.” You replied and shifted so that you could rest your head on his chest. Gar’s hand came up to rub your back softly, and that was how the two of you stayed for the rest of the night.
