after writing this I looked back at the chats that were participating and didn't see one that totally fit this entire post, Ill say it's for the Deity worship chat I guess, since one of these is an offering to a deity. Most of these though were workings with color magick..I hope that's ok!

So I am no artist by any means. Ask me to draw a person, and I can do it, but it's not great and very awkward looking, lol. So I was always interested in art. I loved the way it looked when I saw professionals or people who just had a natural talent for drawing. So when I tried and tried and just couldn't get it to look the way I wanted, I got discouraged. I stopped drawing for a long time.

Then I picked up a paint brush. And while I dont paint as much as I want to now, I do love it. I feel more free like no matter what I do, it'll turn out good. I liked to use color magick when painting, too, so as it sits on my wall, it's giving the room "happy" "good" vibes.

I'd like to share some paintings I've made over the years and one I've done more recently *for* this challenge!

The Bob Ross painting 🖼

This one I made, sometime in high school, I think it's the oldest out of the 4 I'm going to talk about.

I grew up in a christian household, so this included going to a youth activity once a week. One day, the activity was doing a Bob Ross painting. I personally love these. His voice is so calming, and mine doesn't always look like his, but I liked how mine did turn out anyway! I feel like bc he says it's ok to make mistakes throughout the video that I "forget" to be my usual lowkey "perfectionist" self about it and just go with it.

Funny little thing about this, during this video, I believe we were painting waves but for like half the video I guess I thought we were doing mountains 🤦‍♀ so mine looked a little off lmao!

Despite all the mistakes, I love it, and it brings me peace and loving energies when I look at it. It is now on Freyja's altar! She enjoys it there as much as I do!

Color magick painting

So this one was actually also done at a church youth activity, lol

This time, we were doing free painting. Just paint whatever you want. And I'm not gonna lie, most of these girls had *Talent* like I looked around and went "idk what to do, they're all doing these pretty landscapes or whatever and if I try that it's gonna be embarrassing bc it'll be so bad". The leaders kinda noticed my hesitance and anxiety and told me it's no big deal, just paint whatever.

That's when I got the idea.

I had just recently started researching witchcraft and realized I could use color magick here! I grabbed different colors that I liked and felt would fit the intentions I wanted.

I picked red for courage,

as I was feeling pretty anxious at this point and have severe anxiety, so it'd be a great energy to have hanging in my room

I picked yellow for happiness

I was also struggling with depression at this time, so it was also a good intention to put into this.

I picked orange for confidence

I picked green for prosperity

I wanted to bring in thriving feelings of happiness and well-being

And lastly, lavender for calmness

Instead of trying (and failing) to paint "something" I just kinda put strokes of each color thinking about each intention and then as you can see, kind of tried to blend them all together to make it flow more

I love this painting as well, and it still sits on my wall. Every now and then, I'll take it down and cleanse it and reset the intentions on it. Making this post is making me realize I haven't done so in forever. Idk if it's necessary, but it makes me feel better about it. And I do it like a couple times a year or whenever I feel I need a pick me up and have time to do so.

I made this one in my senior year as a way to release some emotions, as you'll see it has a darker pallet than the other 2 I've shown so far. It uh... it wasn't supposed to look like this at all either...

I had originally used some colors; I forget what bc I didn't write it down, but I know the intentions were to release negative emotions and better my mental health

I put them all on the canvas in different spots then went outside and spun around, this part actually did lift my mood a little bit, the spinning around and watching the paint shift and move, I wish I had a picture before the incident because it honestly looked so cool, all swirly looking, but oh well🤷‍♀.

The incident :eyes:

So I left it out to dry once I felt it was done. Left it outside on a bright and sunny day...

...or so I thought.

I had to leave the house to do something, and while I was gone

it

started

raining

At the time, I didn't think much of it, but once I got home, I realized my mistake. Some of the paint had washed off completely, but there was still some, and it was a mess. The canvas was wet, so all I could really do was let it dry to really be able to assess the damages.

This time, I brought it inside to dry the rest of the way. The rain had stopped, and it was sunny, but I didn't wanna chance it. It turned into this, and I thought it kinda looked like a character from Star Wars, Mother Talzin, who is a powerful force sensitive witch apart of the Nightsisters in the Clone Wars. Idk I think it looks cool, tho

feel free to share in the comments if you see something different portrayed in this painting idk it's it was a mess lol but I fr didn't do anything to it after the rain hit it.

It still sits on my wall as a reminder that plans change, mistakes happen, and it's ok.

For this one, I assigned each color an intention and kinda just let the paint brush guide me. My daughter did help with it a little, too! She saw me painting and came up, grabbed my brush, and added her own strokes. I didn't mind. As you can see, I wanted it to look like this anyway. She had fun and I had fun making it! I'm gonna put it up where we can see it and so the intentions I put into it are present in the room.

We put intentions of happiness, healing, courage to do hard things, absorbing negative energies, love, and I added the rune, Nauthiz, for achieving goals and positive change in store!

I hope you all enjoyed the way I've used art in my practice over the years through color magick. I enjoyed putting it together and revisiting what I've done over the years!

Thank you for sharing this with us!

I lowkey found this to be like having a conversation and just laughing about good times. Also for a mistake that is some good mix of colors and I’m really feeling a strong emotion from it truly.
