As this is written (immediately before posting), it's the morning of 5 November 2024.

That's the date of the US Presidential election, in a country where it's still afternoon of the previous day.

In a matter of hours, it will also be 5 November 2024 over there as well and election day.

There are two main candidates, each with very different views on a whole range of topics and issues.

One seems to lavish in misogyny while the other is a woman with women's reproductive rights on the platform.

One of them is transphobic yet uses music from a rainbow music artist at their rallies. I think that's hypocritical, which doesn't surprise me.

The outcome will have implications for many if it goes a particular way.

While I'm far from the US, I do see plenty of reports from there and was saddened to see a couple nights ago a young Democrat voter in an area with mostly Republican ers.

They were saying how 'as a queer person' they were worried if Kamala doesn't win and if she doesn't, they'd need to move to another state with their partner.

I can only imagine how many others are feeling exactly the same and if anyone is reading this, you may well be one of them.

To all of you in that situation, know that despite not being there, I certainly feel for you.

This includes US citizens who live in other jurisdictions because you may still be eligible to vote (if of the right age) and US laws still apply to you as a citizen.

Know that whatever the outcome of this election, if you need , I'll be here.

See you on the other side.
