As some of you may know I am going to keep 2 (or 3) of Amaya’s babies. I want to know at what point it is safe to introduce everyone. She has already calmed down a lot, now I can handle her without gloves and she will eat yogurt off my fingers, but I don’t know how she will react to more adult rats. Any ideas?
At What Point After A Pregnancy Will A Rat Calm Down?

Gloves? Has she bitten you at all? Any blood?

Yeah her babies are 5 weeks and she has calmed down a lot. im not worried about her being around humans, but rather if she’ll be aggressive around rats she doesn’t recognize. Now I can pick her up and hand feed her and she rarely bites me. She boggles and plays like any other rat.She came from the breeders pregnant, and of course I won’t put her through that again and have no near-future plans of breeding rats at all. 🙂

See that's the thing, that's what maternal agression does. Depending on the severity, she may bite your other girls. Just give her some time.

Will do, thanks for the advice :)
I think I read about a month after babies are weaned from the mother. Then mama rat will go back to normal

Hm, well give her time, I'm sure she'll come around again :)) it's just those pesky pregnancy hormones changing her

That’s my hope, my parents say if she doesn’t calm down she will have to go back to the breeders which I really don’t want. Thanks for the advice :)
