Hey guys! I have some excellent news for you guys today! I hope you guys enjoy this and I must say I’m proud and hopefully you guys will be too!

Now, today in JROTC class, I saw there was a small beta fish in a tank that was less than a gallon. The fish was cramped in will little swimming space, and a sharp plant that could tear the fins. I spoke to First Sargeant and he said it was his home rooms’ class pet.

Now, I must say, the living conditions for this poor fish were terrible. The water was cloudy, old pellets littered the tank, and the fish was barely moving and was clearly overfed. I politely confronted First Sargeant about the situation and he itted he didn’t like how bad the fish was cared for either. He knew his home room was too chaotic and irresponsible to own a class pet.

Just before I started setting up the 20 gallon tank

I told him the proper care that the fish needed and that I had a 20 gallon tank at home with all the fittings. It was then he told me I could take it home as my own and he would just tell his home room it died so they wouldn’t get mad at me. We both knew they would be angry I took it home for better care despite them not being able to care for it correctly. So on the way to the car rider area after school, I picked up the small tank and put the pellets in my pocket and took him home.

I took him home and put the small tank on the counter while I did a full clean on my 20 gallon tank and took out the sharp plants and put my smooth plants in. I was able to quickly set up the tank and get the temperature just right. I put him in the tank a good bit after I got it set up and cycling. Now, he’s already swimming all around the tank and is doing much better! I fed him just a couple pellets to see if he was ok to eat since I knew he couldn’t be wanting a lot of food for how much that class fed him.

I’ve decided to name the little guy Skipper! It’s a common nickname in the navy and since I got him from a JROTC class and fish of course live in the water and the navy is based in the water, I chose Skipper! Overall he’s doing so much better now and I will check back in with him on Friday when I get to my dad’s house! I will be sure to post more updates in the future!

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog! Like I said, I will post more blogs in the future! Until next time, Pugsey out!
