To be honest, I don't know very well about it, but I will put an yes, since there is a lot of votes for no.
I don't think it's canon for either franchise because of the layton time-line and the ace attorney time-line. Layton plays in the past and ace attorney, by the time of the release, was playing in the near future. So that wouldn't make sense
