Coming Out:
When I came out I felt safe because I was under the assumption one of my close relatives was also in some way queer. This turned out not to be the case however it gave me a lot of in finding the will and a crutch to lean on or fall back on.
Don’t have something like that? Honestly, I would never want my child to feel the pressure of ‘coming out’. So act your way and walk your own walk. Out with your folks and see a pretty lady? Openly compliment her. See a gay couple holding hands? Your parents will your . You don’t have to have a big speech if you act in a comfortable manner regarding your identity. If they don’t ask then you don’t have to tell.
Crushing:
So you’re a girl. And you like a girl. Or a boy who likes a boy. Or a person that likes another person. But what if the other person is straight?? What if they find out I’m not straight?? Will they hate me??
Honestly in this day and age it isn’t hard to figure out the vastly homophobic to accepting, but whether their straight or not trickier. All I can say is I think that everyone’s at least a little bit gay. Even if it doesn’t work out at least you know you tried. Go for it. Ask them for coffee or for a movie or a Mexican circus — whatever floats your boat! Just have fun and that rejection is not the end of the world.
