Hey guys! Back with another bunny tip of the

week! Let's get into it :rabbit:

This week's tip is.............

:rabbit2: Bunny Care Tip of the Week #2! :rabbit2: -Hey guys! Back with another bunny tip of the
week! Let's get into it :rabbit:

Limit your bunny's pellets! At most, an average sized rabbit (5-6 pounds) should eat no more than 1/4 cup of timothy hay-based pellets! A smaller breed (2-4 pounds) will only need about half of that. And larger breeds (7-8 pounds and up) will need more than average.

Do not worry about the bowl being empty! Rabbits always should have constant access to hay if they get hungry between meal times for pellets and veggies!

That's all for today, see you next week with the next tip! Thanks for reading! And here's the link to Last week's care tip if you missed it!

But why do you need to feed pellets? They get all the vitamins they need from hay and veggies!

Well pellets add more vitamins and minerals because if you don't feed pellets then rabbits need many more veggies and a greater variety of them so sometimes pellets are easier

I'm just feeding unlimited hay, veggies in the morning and veggies in the evening, apple wood and fresh grass with herbs every day and my rabbits are super healthy :)

In my country you can buy pellets, but all the experts say they're bad because they're getting bigger after the rabbit ate it, and the rabbit isn't hungry anymore and won't eat hay to short the teeth. A German rabbit website posted this picture.

Very true! It's also important to note that young rabbits need to eat more than adults because they are still growing and have a faster metabolism. Mine ate twice the adult serving until they were 2 years old, at which point they started to only eat 1/8 cup per day.

I wish I could do that, but one rabbit in particular that I have refuses to eat hay! So when I give her the right amount of pellets, and a bunch of hay, she'll only eat the pellets and starve herself, then she starts tearing out her fur because she's not eating enough! She's so picky cx

oh no! that's really bad! I would recommend trying different types of hay like Timothy, orchard, meadow, botanical, ect. and if she doesn't eat it still I would get her to a vet for some more advice

I've tried all sorts of hay, but she'll only eat a few nibbles then won't touch it after that. But I resorted to when I give her veggies (she loves those), I crush the hay and sprinkle it in the veggies so she gets hay still, but I can't give her an unlimited amount that way ): but she's doing fine! She's not overweight or anything cx I weigh her quite often
