Hey RLA, I wanted to make this post because I see it happening FAR to much. There will be links at the end :sparkling_heart:
(A few words) If you do this and you think its ok, its not. Animals like guinea pigs, hamsters, some dogs, some cats and chinchillas, and a lot more should NOT be put with rabbits. Imma just get into it now.
(Half disclaimer) yes rabbits are social animals and need a friend but you dont just go to a pet store and buy a guinea pig, nuhuh. Intead you should go to an adoption center where you can try out your bunny with other bunnies 'til you find the right one.
Guinea pigs

That is what a guinea pig is for anyone who doesn't know.
Ok so the main reasin not to put these two animals together (unless its for a 5-10 minute photoshoot) is because they have different language (guinea pigs make a squeking sorta sound, in the guinea pig world its wheeking).
These next ones are from the RSPCA website, i'll link it at the end because their great.
Rabbits may bully guinea pigs, which can make them stressed if they cannot get away. The bacteria, Bordetella bronchiseptica,is the most common cause of respiratory disease in guinea pigs. Rabbits (also cats and dogs) can carry this bacteria which can to guinea pigs and cause disease. Therefore, guinea pigs shouldn’t be housed with rabbits.
As I said earlier, Rabbits behave and communicate in very different ways to guinea pigs, so if kept together they won’t understand each other’s behaviour and therefore do not make ideal companions.
Thats it for this episode.
Heres the Link
Bye RLA
