Introduction

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

Good evening, everyone. The R6 Amino is a place where many people, myself included, create OCs. Some are good, some are bad. Some are realistic, some are... definetly not.

Insert edgy anime OC

My personal preference is to go for more realistic OCs, keeping their background story believable, including as much information as I deem necessary, plus a few images as to maintain the post visually pleasing.

The following information is simply based on my opinion, and hopefully some other people agree. Don't take anything to heart, if you wish to ignore what I say, feel free to do so. If you wish to follow every single detail, go ahead, bud. If anyone wishes to have a respectful discussion, the comment section is open for everyone.

Now, onto business. This post will include not only information on how to maintain your OC realistic, but also other tips that might help you achieve that goal.

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

Content

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

To achieve a realistic OC, there are some base topics that must be included in the post, which are: Biography, Loadout, description of the Unique Gadget, Basic Personal Information (gender, date of birth, height, etc), and CTU information. You may also include: Operator Video, Psychological Profile, Past Experience, Relations while in Team Rainbow, Operator Icon. Some people like to include things like personality traits, personal preferences, and all that jazz, but I prefer to stick to basic information that could possibly be in an actual report. Images will help make your OC visually appealing. People like to see well organised posts, so make sure to make it pretty. Usage of the Bold, and Centralized ([CB]) feature of the amino is also a good idea.

Whatever topics you choose, they should probably align with what will be said bellow.

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

Coherency

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

We all make mistakes, but the fewer the better. Being grammatically correct, maintaining the same tense, explaining things correctly, adding enough information. These are all necessary. The people reading your OC need to be able to understand what it is you are trying to say. A stupid amount of grammar and punctuation mistakes would probably prohibit this, so watch out.

One more thing. Do not fear changing. If you post an OC, and someone points out a mistake, take the criticism and improve your post. Delete the wrong section, and replace it with a better one. Always be ready to be better.

Now some more specific information.

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

Age

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

In this amino, original characters are created as if they are a part of Team Rainbow, a fictional counter-terrorism unit. To enter this unit, there are rules. A person must have military experience, originating mainly from special forces, or very specialized units. For this reason, all OCs must be old enough to have, at least, ed the armed forces, be it the police, the army, or whatever else, completed their training, had some years of exprienced, only to then be invited into the Team. Do some research on when they could supposedly their CTU, or the armed forces. This depends on the country that the OC originates from.

Per example, Mute is the youngest ingame operator, being 27 at the moment. Anything bellow 24, I'd say, is probably not very coherent to what should be done.

Mental Stability

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

In real life, nobody is allowed to be out in the field, doing their job, if they have an extensive list of mental disorders. If you wanna give your OC a traumatic backstory, go for it, but do not overdo it. There is a limit to all things, but even though we all like some dramatic flair, too much is not good. Your OC can be closed off, anti-social, apathic, but they can never clearly show something that could be seen as a threat to the rest of the team, so please consider that.

Do your research on what mental disorders an actual person in the armed forces is allowed to have before being discharged. Research is very important.

On another note, mental illnesses are serious things. Keep your OCs respectful on that matter (and all others). People suffer through stuff in real life, make sure not to joke about it.

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

Background Story

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

Your OC's coming up story must be believable. To most, the biography is the longest topic on their posts, and for a good reason. It must be detailed, believable, and it must have all the information necessary for the reader to understand what this character is all about. The years and ages must add up, cliches are simply annoying to look at, and if you wish to give it a traumatic experience, once again, keep it believable. Your OC cannot be perfect, because realistically nobody is. Sure, for them to be on Team Rainbow, they must be very good on the military side, but they need to have bad personality traits. Speak about the good, but also mention the bad. Arrogant, annoying, overachiever, anti-social, anything, just do not make them 100% flawless. They may be good fighters, but don't make it sound like they're a superhero: invisible, unbreakable, untouchable.

Do some research on when they could the military forces, at what age certain ranks are reached, the training necessary, how long it lasts, what conflicts the country is on, and whatever other information you deem necessary. I'm one of those people that thinks that there is no such thing as too much knowledge, so go right ahead and learn as much as you want, including what is needed.

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

Loadouts

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

When I make my own loadouts, I prefer to stick to native weaponry, which just means that I always use weapons that the CTU I'm working with actually utilizes in the field, in real life. You may choose not to do this, but I'd recommend it. While making loadouts, they must have pictures of the weapons being used, and a list of stats, including what attachments could be put on them. Don't forget about the two utility gadgets each operator has ingame.

I'd also advise you to put the Unique Gadget in this section, including a picture of it, if possible, and giving a clear explanation of it. What it is, what it can do, the range of it, if there is an animation, where it can be put, the damage it deals, or whatever other questions should be included, depending on what the gadget is.

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

Conclusion

━──────⊹⊱✙⊰⊹──────━

I hope this information helped anyone that wanted to create more realsitc OCs. I'm aware that most of the information is obvious, but I think it's better to put it out here anyways. Anyone that wishes to discuss these topics, feel free to do so in the comment section, but please keep it respectful. Any spelling mistakes you see, please point them out.

That is all from me today. Happy I could help at least some people
