psa : amino removed from app store

i hope you're all doing well. today

i am here with a little PSA, and by

the title of this blog you may figure

it might be an important one. but

do not panic yet, just sit back and

listen while we get started!

it is confirmed that amino is no

longer available on the apple app

store. you can try to search for it

but it won't be there. this means

that if you're an iOS and you

delete amino from your device,

you won't be able to reinstall it. if

you're thinking "does this mean

amino can't be used?", no. you

can still use amino as usual, just

as long as you don't uninstall it.

now you might be wondering why

amino was removed from the store.

the reason has not been officially

provided or confirmed by amino nor

by apple, but it is widely assumed

that it is due to the violation of

apple's guidelines.

.. possibly having to do with sexual/

objectionable/insensitive/nsfw etc

content without them being hidden

by default. amino has constantly

violated the app store and their own

guidelines, and instead of taking

care of it they promote such content

in an app with underage minors who

shouldn't be exposed to such things.

but does that mean it is removed

forever? like permanently? no! it can

return! as long as team amino is

aware of what they are doing to their

app and makes the appropriate fixes

and changes.

tumblr is another app which you

may not have known was taken down,

but they were able to get their app

back up and running soon after since

their company fixed up their app to

comply with the app store guidelines.

so amino can do the same!

note that amino is not shutting down,

it just cannot be installed on places it

was removed from (ie. the iOS store).

it's best to be very careful, even if

you aren't an apple , just in case

andorid's play store is next.

but please don't panic, this isn't a

situation you should be panicking on.

we advise you to express the situation

calmly so many can understand and

false information isn't spread. share

the news so others are aware and we

recommend, for now, to not uninstall

amino to avoid losing access!!

the amino app also released an

update in the app store recently and

has iOS beta testing still going on,

which is a reliable sign that amino

plans to continue being an iOS app

and should be coming back to the

app store soon in the future. no

need to fear.

also note that it seems like the

standalone apps and the ACM app

are still available on the store, so it

is just the main amino app. there is

also the desktop version/website

that is still up and running. however

the desktop version does have lots

of restrictions including: no

creation, no moderating, no creating

other forms of content other than

blogs, no screening rooms, and no

voice calls.

that is why we want amino to be

restored again. for most of us, amino

is probably our second home. that's

why we sincerely hope TA can fix

whatever they've done to their app

and make amino the one we know and

love.
