Amino is Changing...: the Flag Center

I am bringing you this update from the Leader amino - a community run by team amino and used by many mods to share and learn to run their communities better.

I have been using this app since late 2015, and have seen many changes along the way.

A few updates were nice.

But unfortunately the vast majority have been sad, cold, corporate, capitalist updates to the app.

Allow me to explain further.

There used to be no ments or coin system.

Over the years, s of this app have requested changes to make running communities easier and more streamlined. For example, we long have been requesting the ability to have filtered notifications.

Team Amino, the people who run this app, like to pick and choose what features they implement and more often than not, they add features no one asked for and of which upset the base.

The latest change might dramatically change how much activity we see in this app in the future.

This means the workload for mods who already work hard in big communities will only increase. Back when I was Agent of the transgender amino, we had more than a few flags a day. Those were only flags that slipped past team amino's filter and reached my team.

Sexually explicit and violent flag reports would go to team amino.

I liked that because it saved MINORS from having to see those flags.

I cannot stress how much that this app is aimed at teenagers.

And thus it strikes me as severely irresponsible to forward sexually explicit flag reports to leaders who might be under 18. In this way, team amino is knowingly pushing sexually explicit material to minors to decide to remove or not. Minors who might run communities with even more minors.

You understand my outrage as an adult, yes?

Team Amino is being totally irresponsible and I would not be surprised if something bad happens to the app entirely with this careless decision they are making.

Plus, leaders already work tirelessly with zero compensation. With this update, they will have even MORE stressful, non-rewarding work to do.
