How did we come to have a cosmic perspective about humanity’s place in the universe?

According to Neil, a lot of this new way of thinking can be traced back to one iconic photo – Earthrise. Neil shares why, before 1962, we weren’t really thinking about Earth as a whole.

You’ll learn about the importance of Silent Spring, an environmental science book by Rachel Carson that alerted us to the adverse effects caused by pesticides.

Then, we reminisce on the iconic photo “Earthrise” taken by astronauts aboard Apollo 8 that showed “Earth for the first time.”
