This Nightmaren used to be the Recorder of Nightmare before Rolar. The rules keeper, and the person who keeps records of all Nightmarens. His name is Strictler and he is now a regular police officer and a book seller. Losing his reputation and became a grumpy loser. Living a life where he gets is sometimes unlucky.

. Strictler USED to be the Recorder of Nightmare, that was until NiGHTS got him demoted for going mad with power as Recorder. When he used to be the Recorder, NiGHTS was his apprentice before leaving Nightmare. It was a way for NiGHTS to understand the rules. But she always seems to find exceptions to the rules and correct Strictler's rulings. One of the only times where NiGHTS did something good for the people of Nightmare. Reducing Strictler to being an officer that doesn't have any higher ranks. With his job now giving him less currency than his position as Recorder, he had to find another job in order to keep on living. So he decided to sell books to people in the Dream World. Each box of books (124 to 130) would earn Strictler over a thousand Nightshards. It almost impossible to sell them because not everyone want to read something boring. That's why he was thinking of writing a book and try to get people to read it. But due to Strictler having the Dream World against him, he's always getting put into trouble. Even by people. Strictler not a slimy person, he just makes bad choices that hurts himself. But he does have some like Citrina, his daughter that he loves and cares for. Making sure she grows up to be a better person than he was. Shining Rai who are very close to each other. Even NiGHTS is kind of a friend to him.

Despite what NiGHTS did to him in the past and basically ruining his life. During and after NiGHTS was Strictler's apprentice, he has a crush on NiGHTS. But since NiGHTS doesn't like him that romantic relationship goal is never going to happen. Not even if NiGHTS was like Strictler or if he was nice to her. It'll never happen. And eventually the two would just be colleagues, and Strictler will move on from NiGHTS as well as find his true love.
