My Favourite Moment

I was trying to come up with my favourite moment for the weekend challenge, but it was so hard to narrow it down! We can't giggle it's a crime scene, Moriarty stealing the crown jewels, Sherlock and John eating breakfast in Baker Street, Sherlock high on the plane... There are just too many!

Thankfully, Victor helped us narrow it down with the birthday chart. My birthday is in October, so my character is Mycroft Holmes. I think Mycroft is a fantastic character, and he has so many wonderful scenes, so this was still a bit tricky... But my favourite moment has to be when he and Sherlock were playing Operation and then making deductions.

This is my favourite Mycroft moment because it revealed so much about their childhood dynamic, and about how his and Sherlock's priorities have changed over the years. It revealed what we already suspected - that Mycroft is just as capable as Sherlock at observing and deducing, but has chosen a different path. And it shows us that Sherlock has come to with being different, and knows people can have friends regardless. I also love the parallel to the scene in Buckingham Palace.

MH: Don't be alarmed. It's to do with sex.

SH: Sex doesn't alarm me.

MH: How would you know?

SH: He's different, so what? Why would he mind? You're quite right. Why would anyone mind?

MH: I'm not lonely, Sherlock.

SH: How would you know?

Series 3 did a great job of exploring Sherlock and Mycroft's relationship, with this scene at the start of the season, and with Mycroft offering to Sherlock on the plane at the end of the season. Truly an absolute gem of a scene, and one which spoke to my dramatic sibling heart. :purple_heart:
