Reasons You Should Most Definitely Watch "Sherlock Holmes" (2010)

I just watched the most beautifully terrible Sherlock Holmes adaptation and I loved it so much that I physically need to share some highlights. This post will be absolutely full of all the spoilers and plot twists but those are the most interesting parts of them and I just can't even talk about it without including them

Oh my gosh

So:

- 5 mins in they suspend Watson over a sheer rock face with nothing but a rope. Holmes casually smokes a pipe as Watson nearly falls to his death

- 10 mins in Watson insults Lestrade by calling him incompetent. Sherlock defends Lestrade's competence and looks distant for a moment as romantic music plays gently in the background.

- DINOSAURS

- Sherlock getting excited about telephones!! Look John isn't this amazing how I can speak to you even while you're at work and I'm at home!! Technology is amazing!!! PS come solve crimes with me

- Sherlock: "I grew up not far from here." John: "That explains a lot."

- Mycroft buILDS HIMSELF A ROBOT GIRLFRIEND AND USES HER TO TRY AND BLOW UP BUCKINGHAM PALACE

- Sherlock's name is Robert Sherlock Holmes. ROBERT.

- "Lestrade, you're about to blow up the Queen."

- HOLMES VS. HOLMES: THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN. Who will win? Will it be MYCROFT in GIANT ROBOTIC FLYING DRAGON? Or SHERLOCK in FANCY HOT AIR BALLOON/AIRSHIP? Tune in to find out!!!!!

- Literal Knight In Shining Armour John Watson rides in on horseback to save the day. Where did he even get the horse?? Who cares, he is Our Hero!

- The Houses of Parliament are still on fire, guys.

- It Wasn't Lestrade's Gun, After All

- Oh look it's Mycroft's robot GF again

Please please do yourself a favour and watch this movie. I was crying with laughter. It's genuinely the best thing I've seen all month.
