Charles decided to get a dog so it could protect the animals. A neighbor had a Border Collie who had just given birth to a few puppies, so he offered him one.

Meet Ethel! :dog:

Helen always tried her best to be a mother to Pearl, because she knew she grew up without one. It was weird to Pearl, because she didn't really know Helen, but she also tried to give her a chance.

One day Helen wasn't feeling well and she knew the baby was not okay, so she went to the local doctor.

Sadly, she had lost the baby.

She told Charles and he was devastated by the news, he promised himself not to care about an heir anymore and finally decided to make Pearl and her future husband his heir.

Pearl finally aged up!

Ethel grew up too!

Now that Pearl was old enough, she started helping more around the farm.

Charles wanted Pearl to have a secure future, so he arranged a marriage for her with David Wilson.

Pearl knew how much her father loved Florence, so she wanted that as well, and she wasn't disappointed when she met David 🤭

Helen told Charles that she was pregnant again! This time she would take it more calmly and Charles promised to be by her side every step of the way. He couldn't bear another loss.
