I'm sorry for the few fans that want Spring Man (or any Arms fighters) in Smash Ultimate. I have a sad theory to you. Its that Simon Belmont took Spring Man's place as a fighter. Belmont has the longest reach in the game, which would replace SpringBoi. Just think about it.
Sakurai starts making game plans right when he releases a game. In 2015, Sakurai ended his game plan for Ultimate. At this time, I assume that he looked at the Smash Ballot and said some Japanese stuff, which translated to "OH GOLLY GEE WE NEED K. ROOL AND RIDLEY!". But Arms didn't come out until 2017, 2 years after the game plan (and the ballot). And so why not take a retro character instead of thinking about a new series on a new console? I dunno. Simon Belmont has heavily requested, so Sakurai took THAT idea, and gave him an echo fighter.
Oh yeah legit.

Just like how Bowser Jr stole Daisy’s spot back in Sm4sh? At least you can argue Simon has good character traits and his voice won’t hurt the ears.
Plus Sakurai said that Simon has the longest reach in the game
As someone who occasionally plays arms and has never played castlevania, Simon deserves it more from an objective standpoint.
Arms is way too new to even be considered anyway
