I was thinking what characters I’d want Smash Bros. and decided I’d easily take any of the ultra beast from Pokémon Sun and Moon. Thinking about doing moveset for one of them I decided I would do all of them.
Honestly, I thought that the ultra beast are a little too awkward for smash and them getting in is a little too hopeful. There is no doubt in my mind however that they would make some badass fighters.
In their movesets I may integrate a fair amount of TMs and move tutor moves as they feel more comfortable seeing to me as a competitive pokémon player. Feel free to give your opinions on movesets as you see it.
The ultra beast all have extremely irregular and broken stats that point to a certain playstyle in the games(with some exceptions). I will try to capture their most likely movesets here.

In all of the movesets I will include beast boost. This is an ability in the games, but it seemed fitting to be a move.

This move takes about 4 seconds to fully charge and once charged the ultra beasts moves receive minor buffs. Normal moves only get all receive 1.1 percent extra damage. The ultra beast special moves get a power up, but will use up the charge. These power ups range from either: damage, knockback, stun, etc. depending on the move.
Beast boost charge will dissipate after about 20-25 seconds, but you can recharge it at any time before that(kind of similar to inkling’s ink and cloud’s limit). Getting hit while charging your beast boost at any time will halve your current charge. Any special move that doesn’t include a beast boost effect is inferred to have a damage or knockback buff.

Pheromosa’s level up moveset largely includes kicks. Her in-game stats point to a fast fighter with a massive Atk. and SpA., but subpar defenses.
Ground moves
Jab: two quick kicks. No finisher or rapid jab.
Dash Attack: the bug type move lunge. Pheromosa stretches its body for a long kick.
F-tilt: feint, a very quick poke of the hand with a blind spot at the arm and hand, but with the hitbox at about Martha tipper f-smash range.
U-tilt: a thrust of the arm out then up.
D-tilt: low sweep, a kick that swings low with good range.
F-Smash: U-turn, kick forward if it connects it will bounce phermosa back.
U-Smash: Bug buzz, a cyclone like hit box is sent upwards.
D-Smash: pheromosa does the splits.
Grab: very short grab range that uses the hands.
Aerials
Nair: kick that starts beneath, continues to the front then rotates over pheromosa’s head and to the back.
Fair: kick starts high and finishes low. Good for combos.
Bair: straight kick back. Hitbox lingers for a while.
Uair: kick starts directly front and curls over the head.
Dair: triple kick, last hit will soft spike.

Specials
Neutral Special
Focus blast. It take a bit to charge, you can shield to cancel it, can’t save the charge. Beast boost not shorten the charge time, but it also will not use the beast boost charge until focus blast is released. Beast boost causes the move to become a shield breaker.
Side Special
On the ground you jump up and kick forward. In the air the kick goes diagonally down. The kick will go faster if you press the attack button. With beast boost the move will ground or spike opponents.
Up Special
Agility. Unlike pikachu’s agility you can only pick one direction. Pheromosa will leave a hitbox behind her as she uses the move. Beast boost will give the move invinciblity and less end lag if used onstage.
Down Special
Beast boost, pheromosa make some kind of pose like a model while charging.
Buzzwole

Buzzwole’s offensive power is equal to pheromosa, but with slower speed and greater defense. His weight is considerably greater weighing about 700 lbs and measuring almost 8 ft. tall.
Buzzwole uses mainly punches, and only lacks the greater speed and coverage of pheromosa.
Crouching brings buzzwole nearly on his belly similar to bowser.
Ground moves
Jab: One of buzzwoles best ground moves, a three hit jab with the first hit pulling the opponent in,the second pushes slightly away, the third is a headbutt using his horn.
Dash Attack: Superpower, in the Pokémon games it’s a very powerful attack that comes at the cost of -1 to your attack and defense stat. In smash the dash attack will come out around frame 11 have high kill potential, but have horrendous end lag.(is given super armor)
F-tilt: a straight punch with good range.
U-tilt: buzzwole does a flex pose with both fists pointed up and then strikes upward.
D-tilt: a slow heavy swipe at the feet
F-Smash: dynamic punch, buzzwole punches the opponent with a concentrated fist
U-Smash: an uppercut that pushes buzzwole slightly forward.
D-Smash: hammer arm, buzzwole smashes his arm downwards burying opponents.
Grab: frame 8 with considerable range.
Dash grab: frame 7, but buzzwole will lose his balance on whiff.
Aerials
Nair: both arms are spun around in a circle similar to corrins nair
Fair: fell stinger, this is a multi hit move with the drill. It can be used to drag down as you fast fell them.(Cause fell stinger. No? I didn’t think so) Buzzwole’s body is behind him with the drill in front.
Bair: a backhanded fist with strong hitbox at the tip and weak at the arm. Low damage but good knockback and safe on shield if properly spaced.
Uair: one punch/elbow upward similar to ryu’s strong up tilt
Dair: legs are spun with a sweet spot and spike at the beginning

Neutral Special
Smack down, a rock is thrown that goes forward then falls. If this hits an opponent off stage then they are soft spiked.
Side Special
Comet punch, a short sprint is done before buzzwole unleashes a flurry of punchs.
Up Special
Bounce, buzzwole springs up and falls slowly with considerable air mobility thanks to his tiny wings. Beast boost will perform the normal bounce, but buzzwole will fly a bit higher with his wings and won’t be put into free fall.
Down Special
Beast boost, buzzwole is unique because you can use taunts while charging beast boost.
Nihilego

Nihilego is most associated with being the parasite Pokémon. It’s a rock and poison type with only a low attack and defense stat and exceptional others.
Nihilego
In smash I believe nihilego would have good movement/movement speed as well, and a decent mid range zoning game.
Ground moves
Jab:pound, an arm appendage is swung twice
Dash Attack: the ultra beast ducks it’s head and charges in a fashion similar to Rosalina.
F-tilt: headbutt, the head is shot forward before retreating back.
U-tilt: psywave, a psychic wave is unleashed upwards.
D-tilt: a spin swipe in front. This sends the opponent upwards.
F-Smash: sludge bomb, the longer you charge the bigger the sludge gets, it has good range in front.
U-Smash: Iron head, a lunge with the head upwards. (Has superarmor)
D-Smash: nihilego spins around on the ground.
Grab: The opponent is pireced with an appendage. Pummeling will inject poison into the opponent.
Dash grab: slightly slower than the regular grab and causes a small slide across the stage.
Aerials
Nair: poison is shot in all directions similar to greninja’s neutral air.
Fair: poison jab, a poison ended appendage is thrust into the opponent. This is nihilego’s fastest,combo aerial.
Bair: the head is lurched back to hit the opponents behind.
Uair: venoshock, poison is shot upward with range mirroring mii gunners u-air.
Dair: nihilego turns over and dives headfirst(will drag down opponents).

Neutral Special:
pain split, nihilego is a parasite which makes this kind of move necessary. A command grab with about the range of of wario’s bite/chomp and it will heal 2-3%.
Side Special:
Head Smash, the shoots forward like a rocket headfirst. The move has heavy armor that negates moves up to 9%. Head smash comes out frame 9, but it’s endlag will most likely give the opponent a good punish. With beast boost this move has high knock back making it an good combo finisher.
Up Special:
Gunk shot, nihilego shoots poison downwards(that explodes on )and propels itself up. Beast boost will lift nihilego higher as well as have more knockback for the gunk shot.
Down Special:
Beast Boost, nihilego do a vertical spin at the start then remain stationary and slightly curled up.
Xurkitree

Xurkitree is an electric type ultra beast with a average stats all around the only exception being it’s special attack stat being ranked 6th highest in the game.
Aesthetically it seems to be an orderly association between cords, wires, and lights. Like pikachu most of xurkitree’s moves will show sparks to visualize hitboxes better. Xurkitree’s dists are the length of a sword character with the sparks to show the end of his hitboxes.
Anyone who has any kind of wires or cords knows they get tangled up quickly, so xurkitree will have quick grabs and be moderately fast (really bullshit reason). Xurkitree will get a tether to aid in its recovery as well, because he’s made of wires.
Ground moves
Jab: frame 5 jab, it will have two hits and then a finisher. All of the hits will deal 12%.
Dash Attack: wild charge, an electric tackle with fast, large hit boxes but low damage.
F-tilt: a simple swipe with the arm.
U-tilt: xurkitree stretches up to strike the enemy with an electrifying blow.
D-tilt: xurkitree whips it’s tail and set the opponent up for combos
F-Smash: Thunder punch, Xurkitree delivers an electric punch.
U-Smash: Zap cannon, xurkitree launches an electric shot straight into the air, the bolt plummets down after a certain height. Shares properties to snake’s up smash, but goes a bit higher.
D-Smash: discharge, xurkitree releases an electric charge in the ground around him.
Grab: a standard tether grab with long range and extended endlag.
Dash grab: slightly slower than the regular tether grab but with less endlag.
Aerials
Xurkitree’s aerials have a tipper at the exposed wires that deal a tiny bit more damage and extra knockback.
Nair: the arms spin around with great range at any angle tilted slightly down.
Fair: a kick from low to high in front of the ultra beast.
Bair: Xurkitree’s arm is swung back at a 20 degree angle.
Uair: an arm is whipped up at an 85 degree angle.
Dair: a quick two hit down air.

Neutral Special:
Electroweb, when stepped on it causes the opponent to trip and take 2-3%. The web additionally can be detonated by pressing neutral special again for a small blast, so xurkitree can set up another one.
Side Special:
Hypnosis, like mewtwo’s disable it is move that paralysis the opponent momentarily. Xurkitree will have its lights flash in multiple colors to put the enemy to sleep.
Up Special:
Xurkitree’s up special comes from an idea of an electric current. Like Pac-man’s side special you will have a lot of freedom to control your recovery, do damage, not be put in freefall, but the differences being instead of following a pellet you follow an electric bolt and are not as easily gimped as the electric bolt does damage and does not disappear after being hit.
Down Special:
Beast Boost, xurkitree’s tail lights up resembling the move tail glow in the games.
Celesteela

Also known as the launch Pokémon it releases a gas that propels celesteela in the air. Celesteela is a little smaller than Ridley. Being practically the jet Pokémon, movement speed is close to pits walk speed and run speed is Rosalina’s.
The hard part of making moves for celesteela is that it’s moves seem so chunky. Sizing down the character makes everything seem a bit smoother, but still hard.
Ground moves
Jab: a pillar swung down then back up.
Dash Attack: a tackle done with a quick swipe from a pillar.
F-tilt: a long range poke with a pillar
U-tilt: celesteela pops upward hitting a opponents with its body and pillars.
D-tilt: pillar rotates on the ground.
F-Smash: a blast is shot from the end of a cannon much like samus F-smash.
U-Smash: Fire blast, celesteela turns upside down and launches a small blast.
D-Smash: Heavy Slam, celesteela hops up then slams into the ground. More damage is done from with celesteela than the pillars.
Grab: the opponent will be practically magnetized to the end of the pillar.
Dash grab: a slightly faster version of the regular grab with additional endlag.
Aerials
Nair: a pillar swings in a circle from the middle of celesteela’s body(so it’s not broken).
Fair: a pillar swipe in front of celesteela that goes low to high.
Bair: frame 15 back air with amazing range.
Uair: Smart strike, impales the opponent with a sharp horn.
Dair: a two hit spike from duck hunt.

Neutral Special:
Seed bomb, an exploding seed is shot from a pillar like a cannon, if you press the special button a second time(or hold) you will get a seed from the other pillar.
Side Special:
Wide guard, a reflector wall. It does 2-3% if it makes with an opponent and turns them around. Beast boost causes the opponent to be paralyzed for a brief moment.
Up Special:
Celesteela will propel itself into the air and fly. Sharing properties with olimar’s recovery so that you need to recharge the up special, but you can do attacks out of the move. Beast boost requires no charging and you will fly a bit faster.
Down Special:
Beast Boost, the move will resemble autotomize(that’s fun to say) where sparks will fly from under celesteela.
This was pretty fun to do and took a couple weeks, so I hope you enjoyed it. Part 2 will probably be somewhat simpler from this one, but I’ll guess you’ll have to wait and see.
