Howdy. Well, it's time for the finale of the seven-part Smash Amino blog! This will focus on the seven able content characters in Smash 4.
Now, because I couldn't find official renders of most DLC fighter costumes, I decided to tap into my artistic side and hand-draw my favorite skins.
They don't look nearly as good as the official art, and I might take some criticisms for my style, but that's fine.
Here we go! Enjoy this finale!

Mewtwo: Dark Purple skin
Let me begin by saying how happy I am to see Mewtwo back in Smash. As one of the people who initially believed that Mewtwo was replaced by Lucario in Brawl, it is great to see them both coexist in Smash 4.
What's more, Mewtwo is faster and stronger than in Melee, and his Final Smash is excellent. Sadly, he is also much lighter, but I can look past that.
This recolor appears to be inspired from Shadow Lugia in Pokemon XD: Gales of Darkness. It also may simply be an inverse of default Mewtwo.
I also like the orange (my favorite from Melee), light greenish blue (which I have a head canon of still thinking it's based on his Shiny color), pink, and blue colors.

Lucas: Gray recolor
Seeing Lucas return as DLC was nice. I enjoyed using him back in Brawl, and he looks happy to be back in Smash Brothers.
My favorite color for Lucas here is this gray color, taking over from the Claus palette swap from Brawl.
ittedly, I could have gave Lucas a more tannish skin tone and smaller eyes in this picture...
The Mother series isn't exactly my cup of tea, but even I can appreciate the fanservice with Lucas' costumes. In addition to this Masked Man reference, I also like the Boney, Baby Drago, Duster, and blue/orange striped color schemes.

Roy: Golden outfit
Roy is the third and final character to have skipped an installment of Smash.
I didn't think Roy was coming back, given that Lucina was a Marth clone and that we already had another Roy in the game. I am happy to be wrong; Roy is nicely improved since Melee, now being a semi-clone of Marth.
I like this gold recolor for Roy the most, as was the case in Melee. Roy looks great in a vibrant golden outfit.
Incidentally, this artwork uses Roy's inital design from Melee. I like that look more than the Smash 4 one, even though I kind of botched Roy's hairdo...

Ryu: Light Red gi
Having Ryu, the mascot of Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros. alongside Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, and Pac-Man is nothing short of fantastic.
It's great that he uses a moveset with the addition of button inputs dictating stronger of weaker attacks. Dedicated players can even pull off stronger specials with proper button commands.
In regards to my favorite costume, that would be this light red gi that references a character named Dan Habiki (sorry if I misspelled that).
All of Ryu's recolors are directly ported over from Street Fighter, which is cool. I like the black and Blanka green colors.

Cloud: Blue color
Ah, Cloud Strife. I still can't believe he managed to get into Smash Bros..
Between him, Ryu, and the four legendary stars of Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, and Pac-Man, Smash 4 features a dream roster for anyone who grew up with games in the 80s or 90s.
My favorite color for Cloud is this blue one. It's a simple navy blue palette swap that is based on Cloud's best friend Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII.
I like to think of Cloud as the Donkey Kong swordsman; he's pretty much good at everything and is one of my favorite fighters in Smash.
Incidentally, I didn't know that Cloud was a swordsman. I assumed he was some kind of magician or deity. Final Fantasy is not a series I am very big into, but I love that Cloud ed the battle.

Corrin: Pink costume
Corrin, the protagonist from Fire Emblem Fates, is the sixth Fire Emblem fighter in Smash.
I'll concede that I didn't imagine Fire Emblem would get six reps in Smash 4, but again, the series is more popular now than ever.
For Corrin, I dig this pink female recolor. It's a Smash original that uses beautiful, vibrant shades of pink and purple.
You'll notice that Corrin looks much more cartoony here; I tend to like having anime characters look a bit more goofy and less realistic in my style.
I don't have any issues using male Corrin; his green and blue colors are nice. I also like female Corrin's orange and black outfits. Even the default palettes for both genders look fine.

Bayonetta: Jeanne costume
Bayonetta, the title protagonist from her series, ended up being the winner of the Smash 4 Fighter Ballot.
I'm not very sure how she got in over characters like Wolf or King K. Rool, but I'm not going to make a mountain out of a molehill. Bayonetta is fun to use in Smash.
My preferred costume is this red-and-white color, referencing Bayonetta's friend Jeanne. I like the bright red seen throughout her outfit and this sort of reminds me of red velvet cake (albeit with a brighter shade of red).
While I don't quite see Bayonetta as iconic as other third-party guests like Ryu or Cloud, her series is becoming more closely knitted with Nintendo, similar to Sonic. I am not that into her mature-rated action, however...
I also appreciate that Sakurai managed to make Bayonetta work in a family-friendly game like Smash. Good work on him and his team there.
And that will do it!! I loved sharing my favorite costumes for each playable character in Smash Bros. 4. I know there are the Mii Fighters, but...I think I can on them. These articles are long enough as is.
Palette swaps are my favorite part about Smash. It's great to see references to older games and even some cute Smash originals thrown into the mix.
Thank you very much for reading all seven parts, everyone! 🤗

Funnily enough, I actually found renders of Mewtwo and Ryu before writing this article, but I thought it would be easier to simply draw all seven characters for consistency reasons.
We need to feature this for the art
