For those who want to know, this takes place between Monika’s perspective 2 and FFC3 Chapter 2. To understand what’s going on, go read Monika’s perspective 2 first.

Also, thanks to That Guy for letting me use Monika. And now, onto the story.

#FanFIghterClash3

Gaston’s Bar, The FFC Hotel.

The usually vibrant and bustling bar was silent. Grievous sat alone. The only other people there were either cowering and keeping to themselves in fear or were dead. Not all of them were at his hands. Most were, but some weren’t. He sat in the corner, mulling recent events over in his head. During the first round, he had won his battle against the little red creature, but that was the least of his concerns. What he was really thinking about was the girl.

He’d known there was something odd about her. From the moment he laid eyes on her to when he watched her match against the brute, something about her had felt wrong. And now he knew. She wasn’t really a part of this world, or any other physical space for that matter. She was just a computer program, and yet she had far more power than most could comprehend. He replayed her request over and over in his mind.

The Invisible Hand, The Past.

General Grievous, General of the CIS Droid Army

“So you want me too...wish your creator into existence?”

The hologram giggled in response.

Monika, Sentient Computer Program

“Pretty simple, right? If you win the tournament--”

Grievous

“You question my abilities? Of course I will win!”

Monika

“Sure you will. Anyways, when you win, all you have to do is go up to their special little ‘Light Realm’ thing, and when they take you meet your creator, you say ‘Actually, I’d rather have Monika be taken to see That Guy’, and boom! At least, I think that’s how it works...”

Monika had put put on her best impression of Grievous for that last bit. The general was just a bit offended. Did he really sound like that? He thought about her proposal. It certainly was tempting, summoning some random person in exchange for the death of the man he despised most...Still, he was reluctant to follow the whim of some child. After some thought, he replied.

Grievous

“What about my creator?”

He asked the question really as a test for the girl. He didn’t care for what she was prattling on about. He was only interested in how she would react.

Monika

“Sorry, Tin Man, but I think the higher ups would be mad with me if I told you about that.”

Grievous hadn’t expected this response. What “higher-ups?” As far as he was concerned, Lord Sidious was the highest authority in the galaxy. Could she be working for the Sith? No... If she was, she wouldn’t be nearly so stupid so as to make him look bad in front of Dooku. Besides, he didn’t really care about these so-called “creators”. He knew who he was. He ed every moment of his history in excruciating detail. No one person created him.

...

But why would she hold information back from him? Just the thought that something was being held from him infuriated the cyborg.

Grievous

“DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU’RE TALKING TO?! I DEMAND YOU ANSWER ME--”

The girl started giggling again. Grievous fumed with rage. He instinctively moved to attack. The ship lurched again. Monika kept giggling.

Monika

“You’re so cute when you’re trying to be intimidating! Weellll...I figure I could at least tell you about him. He’s some guy called…”

She paused for a moment, as if she was fact-checking something. I mean, she was, but Grievous didn’t know that.

“Fireredxy! Wow! He's waaayyyy too into some fantasy game. I mean, he’s got like 3 figures of the same blonde elf guy. 3! A shirt too! And his music playlist has 138 songs in it! Man, this guy’s crazy!”

Wow. That’s a bit hurtful. But back to the story.

Fantasy game? Blonde elf guy? Music playlist? What was she even talking about? Still, he was intrigued by what she was saying. He was almost excited by the prospect of meeting this...Fireredxy. He was considering turning down the girl’s offer in order to see whoever he was. The cyborg would probably kill him, but still. On the other hand, this girl was still in control of his ship, and one wrong move could spell his doom. Suddenly, he got an idea.

Grievous

“I’ll accept your offer, if you give me what I want.”

Monika

“Ooh! Now we’re talking!”

Grievous

“First, you have Dooku...dealt with. And second, you are to give me more information on this Fireredxy. Now.”

Monika thought it over. She really, REALLY wanted to meet That Guy in person, but was it really worth telling Grievous more about the real world?

Monika

”...I guess, but are you sure you really wanna know?”

Grievous

”OF COURSE I’M SURE!”

Monika

“...Alright. If you say so. Well, he really seems to like you. And judging by how many revisions he made, it looks like he worked really hard on your moveset!”

Grievous

“Moveset? What moveset?”

Monika

“You’re moveset’s the moves you use in the tournament! It’s supposed to be just like some game called Super Smash Bros. You’d never get into that one, since they don’t let people who aren’t from videogames in, but they’d let basically anyone into this tournament if the moveset’s good enough. He was so happy you got in! He had almost started to regret not submitting the edgy girl with the giant scissors!”

WAIT HOW’D SHE KNOW ABOUT THAT?! I really gotta set up better security measures on my Google Docs...

“And he really seems to like making movesets too. He’s made all sorts of ‘em! It looks like he’s already making another one about some explo-“

OKAY, I’m just gonna cut her off right here. I can’t let her give any spoilers as to what I’m working on. Let’s just say she tells Grievous the basic gist of who I am and move on, okay?

Grievous thought about his supposed “creator”. This Fireredxy was definitely odd, but it was nice to hear that someone actually respected his skills. For once. He started to wonder if he was possibly the benefactor Dooku had spoken of. But this was nonsense. He would not tolerate her presence any longer.

Grievous

“I’ve heard enough! I’ve agreed to your bargain. Now leave my ship at once!”

Monika

”Okey-dokey!”

The glowing blue image of the teenager dissipated, and the room fell silent. The general’s mind started to creep back towards Dooku. The girl had interrupted his conversation with him, had humiliated him. No. He didn’t care right now. Dooku would be dealt with soon enough. He needed to process what he’d heard. He called the bridge.

Grievous

“Plot a course back to the Fan Fighter Clash Realm.’”

Random B1 Battle Droid

“Roger Roger…

...Tin Man.”

: )

Back at Gaston’s Bar, the Present.

Grievous’ mind returned to the present. He looked around. There was no one else in the barnow, save for the dead bodies. He got up, still pondering the nature of these “creators”. He pushed those thoughts aside. He had a tournament to win, and some training to do. He left the bar and started for the training grounds. As Dooku’s pawn or as Monika’s, he didn’t care. He was going to win this tournament, one way or another.

And nothing was going to stop him.
