I was reading through applications when it finally hit me that:

1.) I'm old as shit lol, been on here for 3 and a half years &

2.) I've been modding for 2 of those years straight.

After reading through Emblems wonderful blog (that you should very much read as well), I've noticed that I've come quite the long way. So I'll be talking about my journey up till this point.

This blog is purely self indulgent! Idk how long it'll be or if it's even worth a feature but it's half past i should fucking sleep before 3am at the time of writing this and i feel nostalgic.

First ing (January 2017-August 2017)

First Crew

As most people, I learned about this place through an ment made by a popular smashtuber back in January 2017. I had goals to improve my shitty wifi 3ds tink lol so I decided to give this app a try. I quickly found the nearest DK and bodied them 2-0.

Looking around for different matchmaking chats when i saw a nifty looking crew. Had no idea what crews were or what they did so 🤷‍♀ I just looked around to be tested. Testing for this random crew I don't the name of anymore was weird afffff. I had to play 5 games against the learer's mii brawler and if I was good enough then I'd . There was a co leader spectating. I bopped their mii brawler games 1-3 pretty easy lmao. Game 4 they went their main and i bopped them too, then the co leader was like "bro you lol."

They got tired of watching me spam DX

Unfortunately, about a dew days later all of a sudden the chats were closed. I had no with any of them after that and i was just hella confused. I looked around some more till I found a new crew...

Iron Samurai

If you're a true OG you might this old crew lol. Tons of power players back in the day man. I ed their recruitment chat and fought a samus player named Owais and they shmixed me HARD. I kept the games as even as I could, but I think i still lost the majority of them.

After ing this goated team, I quickly met some amazing people like KP, Leo, Foofle, Iskander, Future,   Pekke, Derpy Walrus and Nira. I've lost with most of these people unfortunately, but I'll still them always :)

B l o g g i n g 👁👁

When i first ed amino, the blog I saw/read first was Matt's tutorial on tink combos or smth like that. I was like "wow i can just spew tink knowledge and get featured and be popular doing that?" And now, here we are 3+ years later :^)

I even had rad peeps like Hedgie and Buandon telling me things like "you have potential" to inflate my ego so i HAD to deliver somehow. My first feature was talking about Tink's up b in s4 lmao

Blogging Boom (August 2017 - April 2018)

Competition

During this stretch of time I didn't do much else except blog tbh. I found my groove and i just went with it. This is probably the start of my iconic tink pfp too lol.

I also started entering events and stuff, because i enjoyed the competitive aspect of blogging and always liked seeing my blog at the top of the feed. Before Matt or Spike take my spot anyway xd

Curator Apps!

I let people inflate my ego once again ! I had several people tell me "wow Jose you seem like a capable person pls try out for curator" and as the gullible level 12 I was I went for it.

March came around and OOPS i didn't get it :)) I half expected this, and seeing my friend Spike become a curator made me extremely happy. (Nokcha also became a mod at this time 👁👁)

Experimenting

During this time I also experimented quite a bit with blogging concepts. I started up "Tales of a Tink Main" to talk about my history with toon link and the difficulties I've endured with the character. I tried storytelling as well, with that one For Glory Falcon blog.

Moat notably however, this was when I made my first Jose's Tirade where i just went HAM on the cursing and insults. People liked it ig lol so i did it as often as I could. The first tirade was about amino coins when that was introduced

Applying for Event Team

I figured if I couldn't become a curator I'd just be pyatt if the event team ez ps lemon squeezy. I had a ton of ideas and figured I can still help the community that way.

I applied, put in some nifty ideas, and then all of a sudden bam I'm in the event team. I was brought on alongside Epicness, another old friend, and MasterRobin!

Event Team! (April 2018 - August 2018)

New Era

This was a whole new era for me, I was super excited and very quickly I wanted to bring out my ideas all at once. I was super motivated and looking back I was probably excited to the point of not letting others do their own thing with their own ideas xd

I made my first event, which was banning a single aspect of the game and then discuss how the meta changed. Iirc, I Am The Law proposed banning grabs and talked about how that affected the meta. Super super neat

TPL Experimenting!

At this point I'm now trying to expand my craft and just do better overall with them. When I get featured I want them to pop om the feed somehow and just look cool. I especially liked high resolution bgs during those times lol and you can tellll

E3 Event

Probs one of my favorite events I've created tbh. I made some ugly graphics and tpls and a lot of careful planning was involved in it dude, it was a fuckin blast for sure ^~^ that e3 was so hype too

PKA Crossover

I forgot what I did but it was some sort of crossover that actually had a decent amount of people ing in. It was really neat orchestrating am entire event b/w 2 aminos but i will proudly say that i might not do that ever again lol. A lot of stress :sweat_smile: god bless bat boi

Hand Picked Curator? (September 2019 - December 2018)

this is my life now

Shiny dm'd me one morning asking me if i wanted to be a mod and I'm like yeah sure and here we are now. Training for it was quite different than other trainings for mods because I was hand-picked as a mod. Apparently i did too much work or smth like that idk lol

But yeah, I trained within the mod chat itself practically. I quickly became friends with the people there like Sabergon, Vile, Bobber, and ofc Nokcha. I helped mediate and resolve issues the mods were having at the time about some drama that occurred (that i don't need to mention necessarily). I figured out how to mod relatively quickly, it was quite ez.

I WORKED MY ASS OFF THESE 4 MONTHS, I PUT IN #WORK! Like deadass i accidentally just started going in mf hard mode because i just picked up so much work WHILE doing difficult engineering homework. I'm a mess

September:

I was cleaning up around amino, all from the recent drama, while learning how to mod efficiently. I also had the pka crossover just finishing up as well. I also wanted to prove that I can be an active blogger AND moderate at the same time. I may or may not neglected meals...(i am legally obligated to tell you that that was a joke).

I had hella mod actions here oops

October:

Basically, smashtober. Deg all of the events and stuff and then running them all, working closely with event team and mods, all of it. Draining work but i loved doing it at least lol.

OH i also had the pleasure of working closely with the ferocious falcons :3 that was pretty cool. I TO'd that tournament specifically, and if I correctly, Omega (megaman player) beat Benny (a good wifi Rob player) that tournament. We popped off so fucking hard bro

November:

We saw that ultimate was on the horizon, so we knew that we needed more mods. Therefore z we opened up mod applications. This was the first time I got to see anything in action like that tbh, it was pretty cool. Iirc we grabbed people like Neko, Splat, Expand, Pichoco, and Robin at that time. Now only EXpand and Neko are mods :sweat_smile:

December:

We're just preparing for Ultimate at this point. We finally trained our 5 new mods and we were ready for the game to drop. We were prepared to be hellllaaaaa busy lowkey (we ended up not being busy that day lmao)

There was also the #WeTechThose event where the community had to figure out any new tech in ultimate. Or maybe even new combos too. Just something that can keep people busy playing the game while simultaneously blogging. It def worked and it was neat, I enjoyed it even if I couldn't find anything for tink at the time haha

Burnout + Promotions (January 2019 - April 2019)

OOPS! I'm burned out now

Haha oopsies! At this point i felt very tired lol. I've accomplished so much within these 4 months and i just feel... deflated ig? Like I couldn't think if doing anything else for now except moderate. No new projects, nothing to worry about, just playing the new smash ultimate game and v i b e.

Oh hey I'm a leader now! Spike was already promoted to a leader by the time I first became a mod, but now me and Nokcha both become leaders for the community. I trust them both dearly with everything and I'm so happy to have them around!

Overall, being promoted to leader at this point reinvigorated me :eyes:

PROMOTED UWU

Fast forward to like April or so, invy decides to retire as a and after some discussion and voting we've decided that I should be the next agent leader. This made me extremely happy and excited tbh, as lame as that nay sound lol. I suddenly saw a new world of opportunities before me, a new world of possibilities now that I'm *technically* the person in charge (even tho as i stated before that's kinda not true).

From here on out I've been putting in a l o t of work to clean up this place some more and try to improve our quality of life.

Corporate Ladder

It's amazing to me how much I've done and accomplished in a single year holy hell lol. April 2018 i started as the average and became an event team member. Then in 4 months i became a curator. 4 months after that I was promoted to a leader. And again after 4 more months i was agent. What a trip lmaoo

This just proves that I have a certain drive in me to constantly try to improve this place despite the hardships :muscle:

New mods! (May 2019 - August 2019)

New curator apps oh boy

At this time we're kinda lackin in the mod department, just a tad. We set out to find new curators. This is huge for me because while I've done mod applications before with invy, this is the first time where I've actually orchestrated the entire thing alongside my team.

Quite exciting but also kinda nerve-wracking as our decision on these new mods reflect on not only my judgement but om the judgement of the other leaders as well. *Sweats nervously*

We just be vibin. I learned how to do gif tpls without going thru the entire hassle of using Photoshop or pic collage or smth.

However, this method was a hassle as well xd. I've made a guide on how to do it of any are interested tho!

New Team

I have enlisted the help of bat boi, bassle, worlder ash, emblem, and salt king at this point in time. Now we only have bat, ash and emblem, so it's not that bad. Now I have to learn how to effectively lead these people to the best of my abilities. I don't think i did a terrible job at least :sweat_smile:

vibes (September 2019 - December 2019)

events!

From here on out, not much else has happened. School year is normal, life on amino is normal, not toooo much went on.

There was smashtober 2019 that had a cool twist to it, and I'll always be fond of those memories haha. Truly a fun time tbh. Right after smashtober there was Edge of Dawn (an event much like Twilight Wings) where my team became champions :muscle: . These two months were a wild ride for sure and I was pretty happy with everything :3

December didn't for much. I went away for a cruise shortly for new years. After that...

2020!

Now we're here. There's a lot to unwrap that some of you may want to see me talk about, like with the Coronavirus or with whatever happened in the smash community, but those topics are better as separate blogs. There's also a huge thing that happened with BLM and that's been given it's own blog as well.

There's more stuff like "amino politics" but that doesn't need a public discussion as it's a mod issue and not a community issue.

Otherwise, not much has happened up till this point. We're just grabbing new mod peeps as we go and I hope everyone will like the new picks! And if you've applied yourself well, good luck ;)
