How To Create Snazzy Gif TPLs w/ Jose.

Gif tpls require effort, but it would be shnice if more people can actually make em around here. Hopefully this guide will help!

Why A Gif TPL?

Glad you asked! Gif tpls or SPLs are neat because, well, they simply are satisfying to look at and overall just pretty when done correctly.

It's no secret by now that if you utilize a cool cover for your blog it'll het noticed more. In fact, scrolling through the latest feed, it's MUCH easier to distinguish a regular blog from a blog that may be in want of a feature.

Similarly, the more work you put into a cover, can show how much pride you really feel about what you wrote. You'll enjoy the final product more once it can be presented nicely as well.

This is why Gif TPLs/SPLs can be quite the solid option for your blogs. If yall noticed, i use gif tpls for really important blogs or announcements, like this one. The extra flash grabs people's attention nicely AND it'll look nifty.

Materials

I used the apps Phonto, PicsArt, Background Eraser, and Photolayers. They're all free on the Google play store. Here's what they look like:

You'll also meed a bit of storage, as we're saving quite a lot of images.

Step 1: Find a Background

Finding a background of some sort that you is a neat start to our little adventure. You'll want to make sure that it's high in quality. Here's mine!

Step 2: Use a TPL template on PicsArt

Using this template:

I will create the main image. However, you can skip this part if it's too cumbersome. If you do the TPL route, then click here for the guide. Idk exact dimensions for a cover image, so if you go that route I'm sorry xd

After all of that, here's the final cropped bg!

Step 3: Find a Good Gif!

(Whichever way you pronounce it, i pronounce it too dw :eyes: :sweat_drops: )  

Here's the one Ive picked:

IMPORTANT!

Pick a gif that is high in quality AND relatively short. Trust me on this, it'll make our lives easier later....

Step 4: Head Over To A Text App

PicsArt works here, but I find that Phonto works much better for text in general. I heavily recommend it.

Go to phonto and write what you want on it. , we're going to put a gif behind some or all of the text that we write. Ensure that the border is thick. Here's my image so far:

Notice that the color here is bad lol. It doesn't fit too much but it doesn't matter as long as it's bot white or black since I'm using those colors as shadows and outlines. That's SUPER important.

Step 5: Use An Eraser App To Cut Out Text

Use your favorite eraser app (there's quite a few). Cut out the text that you want the gif to be under. Here's what mine looks like afterwards:

Note, amino won't make it look transparent but it is!

Step 6: Turn Your Gif Into Individual Frames

Head over to ezgif.com. There, look for the option "Split" and open up your gif. You'll want to save as many frames as you can to make your gif look nice, but try not to sur 15. If you do, then you may need a new gif. :sweat_smile:

Step 7: Head Over To Photolayers and use the original image as your background

Pretty simple, here's mine as an example:

If you use the cut out version it's technically fine, but it may be confusing for you idk.

Step 8: Add The First Frame of the Gif on top

Put your first frame of the gif, and click the "fit" button. This ensures that the frame is centered perfectly and fits the overall photo better. DO NOT TOUCH IT FURTHER! If you do, click "fit" again. Otherwise you'll fuck up the gif we're making.

Here's my example right now:

Step 9: Add The Cutout Made Earlier

The photo that we erased some of the text on? Yeahhhhh we need that now! Grab it and add it right on top so it's over the gif frame and the background image. Click on "fit" here too.

It should look something like this:

If it's to your liking then perfect! You're ready to hit that save button on the top right. If you don't like how it looks right now then you'd probably have to change the text, gif, or maybe even the background. Fox whatever you need to until you're satisfied.

Step 10: RINSE AND REPEAT :)

You must've realized by now that since we've split up the gif, we're gonna painstakingly recreate it. Repeat steps 7-9 until you have finished using all the frames handed to you. You should now have several photos in your gallery.

Step 11: Making the Gif!

From here, we go back to ezgif.com and find the "gif maker" option. IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU PICK YOUR PHOTOS IN ORDER! You may have to click and hold the photos to select them. Go through with it and then you should see something like this:

From here you can actually speed it up or slow it down as you'd like, although i do recommend speeding up the gif just a tad so that it looks more fluid and dynamic. That's something you'd have to experiment with.

Once you're happy with it, go ahead and do a long click on the gif to save it!

Final Step: Adding it to your blog

Sometimes amino is glitchy, so at times you'd have to save it a few times in order for the gif to work. If it's too much for amino you might have to shave a few frames off as well. Add your images and voila!
