Hellu, I'm McHale and I'm going to be discussing improvement. Huh? What's that!? I don't know I thought I'd talk about it.

-Mindset-
If you didn't know a mindset is how you look at things, It also effects opinion. When it comes to anything your mindset can change the experience to either be more positive or negative. Here's an example: Man this boat ride is going to be so boring. or: wow I'm going on a boat! Two very different ways to look at the same thing. Just by reading my examples you can see that one person is going to have way more fun then the other.
I'm going to add this principle to smash now: I lost, I'm garbage, I'll never get better and should just quit. Or: I lost, I wonder why, maybe I can look to fix what I'm doing to win the next one. Too many times have I seen the first example. The first on being negative the other one positive. By using a positive mindset we can inspire ourselves into improving.

-Characters-
To play smash bros you need to use characters. (Common knowledge) But which character to use also effects your improvement. If I main half the roster then how would I go about improving? Simple answer, I can't due to the fact I can't use the characters to their full potential because I'm always switching and lose what I've been practicing. The best way to start actually improving is to pick one (One not two) character your going to main. It can be your favourite or somebody you like playing, and ONLY play that character. By only playing one character you can get a feel for their movement, air speed/fall speed, applications/technicality and style of play.

-Generality & knowledge-
Improving in anything is a process. If your not willing to put time or any real thought into improving don't start it's not worth your time. Knowledge of the game is another key component to improvement, If your serious about it you would want to learn more. Learn more about the character learn more about the game, learn more about the ledge and other characters. (Don't play them) We can learn by watching, if you watch the top player of your character your bound to learn something. So strive for it and excel through playing other people and experience. If you give up your not going to do any better and won't be respected by anybody. Fight for what you believe in!

-Practice-
When people think of practice they think of doing the same thing over again to perfect it. Most people think "Practice makes perfect"but actually this saying is flawed. Perfect is subjective. (Different depending on opinion) It is impossible to be perfect in this world, "Practice creates consistency" this I believe. With consistency you can improve by being able to do stuff consecutively that other people can't. If you practice ledge trumping to get it constant then I'd put my money on you getting that way more then any "Casual" player. Here's the catch, If you switch characters all your practice with trumping was in vain. (Pointless) The reason for this is because of a simple fact. Every character is different. Ledge trumping is a combination of movement, fall speed, and air speed the only exceptions to that is Pit with Dark pit, and Marth with Lucina. For this very reason practicing one character will improve you more then playing "just two." Fighting U's is also not a very efficient method of training due to the fact that they win 50-50s and always miss their tech. They also create bad habits in the neutral game. So find a friend or play someone online it makes no difference because now you start adapting and reading stuff you can't really do on a U

-Rewards-
From improving you start winning, you gain more respect from others and yourself. It makes you feel good that your efforts and time mean something. You can share and help others by feeding them knowledge or recommending was to receive it. (I suggest you check out "My smash corner" and "Izaw smash") You can improve the meta for your character and even win some money through locals. I highly suggest following my instructions and find your self improving too.
McHale out~
