Hello everyone! Luna here again with my irrelevant opinions on topics to talk about what the best Smash game really is. I'm keeping this short and simple because to put it simply... I'm lazy (but you knew that)
(Edit: I'M FEATURED?? I really thought this was garbage but umm the background may have got me that good feature huh? ·~· Thank you I feel honored!)
Table of Contents
I'll do this once I make the post. Oh wait I put my post up?

What each game has to offer
Super Smash Brothers 64
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Super Smash Brothers Project M
Super Smash Brothers Wii U/3ds
Conclusion
I'm expecting to trigger a lot of people including myself :D
Now this is personal opinion. You'll just have to see what happens when it happens :eyes:
The Audience
If we want to figure out what is really the best game, we of course have to address the audience right? So most of the games are targeted for 10+ audiences (yet clearly that doesn't get followed) and there are two community. This is for the event #wgbt but that doesn't mean we can't talk competitively as well. So the audience I want us to target on is really just the entire community!

What each games has to offer:
Now we have to examine and compare what we have right? Currently there are only 4 official Super Smash Brothers games. I personally will not include Project M. It is seen as apart of the Smash Community even if it wasn't made by the original creators but it was fanmade, which would also include Super Smash Flash games, so it makes me not want to speak about what the true Nintendo makers didn't make. I'll tell you though that they are definitely not the best for a casual and would only confuse people too much to play. Unless you are extremely dedicated, it's tough to get into these games and is for very competive players. Anyways let's get to the actual games.

Super Smash Bros. 64
Who can ever forget this original and classic start to the Smash series??? The original 12 all started here and this is the game that introduce the new fighting damage accumulation!!! I still find it so cool that life isn't a set life bar in Super Smash Brothers. This even became the fifth best selling game on the Nintendo 64!!! This game in general was a ton of fun but...
The quality/bugs/graphics
I mean for the time it was great, but for people nowadays it might be too old fashioned to just call. Also a huge problem in the game was the amount of glitches. With something inconsistent like this, it may be confusing and wonky for any player, casual or competitive.
It's tough but honestly the game wasn't like it couldn't function! There were just some little things that when preformed could really not look like what you inputted. Some of these glitches are exploited from those who figured out benefits to the glitch and it kind of makes it a mess. It definitely still requires skill to play competitively though and to pull of these bugs so it's tough to judge.

Super Smash Brothers Melee
Now this has one of the biggest Super Smash Brothers communities ever. It is still relevant after a full decade of it being released!! I personally have played it as a child and adore this.
Difficulty of movement
Looking back on this game, I thought it was never close to competive. It was always slow paced since I would casually play as a child and I realized how it just didn't make any sense for it to. Then I saw people play with wavedasg
Hing and to this day after attempting to do it I still can't do it! For someone to never understand after over a decade how to wavedash, any casual would find it just as difficult to deal with something like that.
Don't get me wrong, this game has a very fun style and I really enjoy how items would work, how stages would move. There are many pros to all of these games and I just want to remind everyone that I love all of these games even if I'm only talking about the bad parts.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Genuinely the oddest of them all. I felt iffy on this game personally. This is when I wanted to be better at games but this never really was what I looked into until later on (like yesterday *cough cough*). Still being a casual from here I never saw anything huge and I guess my expectations were just to high since I loved the past game so much. Then I hit that story mode.
WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS STORY MODE NOW
The story of Brawl will always be the best experience of my LIFE. It really open me up to gaming and made me feel like I got stronger. I grew attached to all the characters that I play to this day (please bring Ice Climbers and Wolf back...) because of this story. Everything was so cleverly created and I recently replayed it. The memories came crashing back like a tsunami. Everyone had there time to shine and it all came together by defeating the final boss together with all of your allies. It felt like you really did everything and saved the world

But we do still need to talk about the actual playability. There were many problems with playing even if the setup looked very professional. One huge problem was
It was TOO silly
You all saw it coming .-. The silliness of tripping and the weird hitboxes sometimes just taking a break from hitting people made it a really big problem. This made it enjoyable for many casuals but the game was more of a joke that had a story rather than a game with good replayability potential. Sorry Brawl :/

Super Smash Brothers for Wii U/3ds
Oh yes the most recent game and probably up there for one of the most popular. I saw this as my opportunity to start being coneoeyueb for the fact that there was no story mode in this (as sad as I was) and saw this as an oppurtinity to grow. Since I was attached to the characters but there is no story to distract I can be dedicated to my lovely characters. (*cough cough* had made like 10 Zelda appreciation blogs and infinite comments on how Zelda IS BETTER THAN BOTTOM 5... I got off track... *cough cough*) Though genuinely this game was very healthy to me. I felt like everything worked perfectly, there were no difficult techniques that made me stressed out. It was just a good relaxer and could be played always whenever. Then...
Boredom
Yep. This game in general just could get kind of boring quickly. Unless you genuinely like to game, and this unique style of fighting is for you, you probably will realize there isn't much to do. You get bored quickly and won't realize until after a couple hours then it just starts fading away. The mechanics were good, the characters were designed well. I guess it was just tough to hold on to since there wasn't something that shined.
Conclusion
Yet that said, it still is popular to many as well! The whole concept that Super Smash Brothers as a franchise brings is phenomenal and obviously the community appreciates that by ing the games. Now to answer the question. Is there a best game? Well it's simple. The answer is
THIS IS ALL OPINION
I'm not going to tell you this is better than that and you have to agree because that isn't the case  That's all really, this is just a recap of what all the games are and to help you think what you see as the best. Well everyone I have to tune out. Heres to hopefully a great Super Smash Brothers for the Switch! Farewell and enjoy this beautiful franchise as much as you can!
