As always, comments and criticisms to help make these better is always appreciated!
Hello once again, ladies and gents! That Guy here, back again with another of my Possible Character Movesets for a new character to the Smash Bros Roster!
————————————————————————
Ahh, February. The month of love, chocolate, and one of the most notorious acts of violent Mafia related crimes. But let’s stick with the first two.
I knew something special had to be in store for this month when making a moveset. The only problem was a problem many people face when making moveset concepts.
”Who the F@!$ am I gonna make!?”
After much deliberation with myself, I’ve decided a solution; to pull from a game series that has branched out to become a billion dollar franchise, and who’s characters can sometimes bring more fan service than all Shonen Anime and Fire Emblem games put together.
Of course you know what I’m talking about. We’re talking about Fate. For this one, I’ve brought in a character that’s possibly almost as recognizable as Saber, although besides a few TV specials and a few planned movies after it was made, still remains a video game character, in a franchise first started by 18+ visual novels. Grand.
Besides, if AwfulBeast is king of Movesets, I’ll be damned if I’m not at least part of the Moveset Cabinet/Parliament
Today, we’ll be looking over a possible Smash Bros moveset for Mash Kyrielight, one of the main characters of Fate/Grand Order.
Also, if you’re reading this 2Bands, I apologize for the extra data, kill percentages, and damage output to come. I’m keeping them on all of my Moveset Concepts so I have more options for Future Fan Fighter Clashes. I hope you understand, and don’t downgrade any rating you give me because of it.

History of Mash Kyrielight:

To say the Fate series has had an interesting history as a franchise is to be a large understatement.
Originally beginning it’s days as a visual novel (meaning it started as a videogame series. Fight me cowards, it counts and is still viable for Smash), it has since grown to be one of the more well known series hailing from Japan, boasting a wide variety of games, manga, light novels, etc. While it’s original visual novel iteration, the very first Fate/Stay Night, was most definitely not for little boys or girls (yea, the series started out as one of THOSE types of visual novels, if you catch my drift. They’ve since moved away from that stuff and have swept it under the rug), all of the following material, while fanservice-y at times, have been relatively tame.
Mash Kyrielight is the other major character (besides the playable character, Ritsuka) of Fate/Grand Order: a Mobile Game that is one of the more well known entities of the Fate franchise (besides the anime, of course), and is also most likely one of the series’ main money makers due to the Gacha mechanics that, no matter how many Saints Quartz you waste your real money on, keeps giving you 2 Star Leonidases and Blackbeards instead of the 5 Star Alter-Ego Saber you keep trying to pull for… oh, right, gotta get to the story.
Mash is the player character’s very first Servant (no, not in the weird way… well, it depends on how you think about I guess), a summonable entity that fights alongside you to protect you until it or you dies… huh, guess that does sound kind of weird out of context.
Anyways, usually Servants that are summoned by people are manifestations of the souls of either long dead historical figures (such as King Arthur, Alexander the Great, etc.), fictional characters (Sherlock Holmes, Edmond Dantes, etc.), or some other strange stuff that comes from entries in the Fate series I haven’t read or watched (I know an amalgamation of Pestilence incarnate shows up at one point). Mash, however, is none of these. Well, partially, anyways.
Mash is a Demi-Servant: a genetically engineered human (called a Homunculus in this series) that is forcefully fused with a summoned Servant to harness it’s abilities. While not finding out until aways into FGO’s story, Mash is fused with the soul of Galahad, one of the Knights of King Arthur’s Round Table. Contracted to Ritsuka (the player) for their tasks at hand (some normal save the world type stuff involving time travelling to different areas of time, such as Medieval Orleans, Camelot, and even ancient Babylonia), Mash becomes one of the playable characters to beat the tar out of creatures with.
Mash is a Shielder-Type Servant: the only kind of her Class, and is rather self-explanatory in of how she functions. She’s basically a walking tank; utilizing a large Shield with a Cross shaped blade on the edge of it to do battle with, and providing many defensive buffs and abilities to herself and allies. She travels with you on your save the world shenanigans, saving your rear on multiple occasions due to being assigned to literally do that task, until during a rather large ‘final battle’ type scenario she gets literally eviscerated by an amalgamation of 72 demons that were sealed inside King Solomon’s body… yikes. At least her sheer willpower resulted in her Shield being left behind to protect you from it. Don’t worry though, with the power of anime powers of some weird dog thing, she comes back. And after that battle, the world is saved… until the next game update comes.
Look, despite my sarcasm throughout this whole bit, I actually really like this game. Despite me skipping the cutscenes at first and having to Google what I accidentally missed, the characters and plot are well done, and the combat system is a unique one that I rather enjoy. Sure, Gacha games can be a hell of a drag, but at least the game gives away it’s currency like hot potatoes for you to invest in spamming the summon button. I highly recommend you play it yourself, as my cynical description cannot even begin to describe the depths of the game’s story or characters.
Additionally, Mash is not only the best girl, but is one of the only two characters that could make it to Smash if Fate is chosen as a represented series, the other being Saber from Fate/Stay Night. And because I’m a good boy and haven’t played that visual novel (even though they re-released it without the funky bits), Mash is who I’m most familiar with of the two. My love for the series, and Mash’s chances of getting in, are why you’re about to waste a few minutes of your life reading this blog.

Mash Kyrielight’s Playstyle
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2F62f7a9346ffe95954cb93fb0f1680154679221d6r1-1114-1529v2_hq.jpg)
———————————————————————-
As stated before, Mash is a Shielder-Class Servant, meaning that her main goal of existence is to go through a fight with as little damage possible done to her or her team. Due to this, Mash playstyle will take inspiration from her class.
Despite her typical anime female body proportions, Mash will be a Heavy classed character, as lugging around a Shield that big will tend to add a few pounds to anyone when they’re being launched around like a ragdoll. Obviously, this will make her a tankier character to fight, being much harder to launch and KO than lighter fighters. However, this will also make her slower movement and air wise, meaning she’ll have to keep her guard up against more versatile characters.
Luckily for her, keeping her guard up is her specialty. I’d say gameplay wise she’s a combination of a Bait & Punish, and a Turtle. Her gameplay would be very defensive, keeping and applying certain buffs and abilities in order to survive any onslaught her way, and striking at an opportune moment. Many moves in her kit are useful due to the disted hitboxes they have, allowing her to distance herself from opponents while still keeping up her own defenses. In certain situations, she’d even be able to survive blows that would normally KO her. Her damage potential would also be rather impressive, and catching an opponent off guard can be an early end for them. Certain advantages for her include her Shield’s hitbox, which is similar (and longer than many) to sword characters, in that you can safely attack from a distance without worry of enemies being able to hit back due to the range, as well as the armor that is prevalent in a few of her moves, and even the ability to bunker down against projectiles fairly effectively.
Additionally, she is somewhat similar to Shulk in her dynamic Neutral Special, utilizing her Command Cards to shift from a defensive Turtle, to a faster Rushdown esque (which pairs well with some of her ive Abilities), to a high damage dealing juggernaut. Due to this, her flexibility as a fighter can appeal (and possibly be a counter) to a few different Styles of fighting, as she can turn the tide of battle for herself with just a few button clicks.
However, her downsides are prominent. Generally being a Turtle-ish character, her movement game and aerial play is laughable compared to some lighter characters. She also has literally no projectiles whatsoever, making it difficult at times to pressure the opponent (although reflecting their projectiles can work just as well). Her heavier attribute may also make it easier for her to both get comboed and get attacked without being able to retaliate. Also,
Strengths
-Extraordinary defensive capabilities
-Decent offensive output
-Can shrug off things like projectiles and even some KO-potential moves
-Dynamic flexibility as a Fighter
Weaknesses
-Slower movement and air speed compared to lighter characters
-No projectiles
-Can be comboed easily if unprepared
-Getting caught in the wrong Command Card can be bad news

Traits
———————————————————————
-Similar to Cloud, Mash will only be speaking in Japanese in Smash. This is due to Grand Order, despite having English text, having all of the voice acting done in Japanese (unless I’m absolutely blind and there’s a way to switch it to English VAs in the settings, though I’d probably still keep it Japanese anyways). Any words written here that she says in combat or animations will be translated into Japanese for the voice.
-Ritsuka, the playable character in Grand Order, appears in the background while Mash fights, similar to the Pokemon Trainer being in the background when Squirtle, Ivysaur, or Charizard are fighting. They’d probably have to be there due to the Servant Contract, and are only there for animation purposes, and nothing related to Mash’s toolkit. Ritsuka may be a male or female depending on the Palette chosen, similarly to Pokemon Trainer.

Special Attacks
———————————————————————
Special Attributes:
-When Mash is standing idle or facing forward while running/falling in the air (or during certain moves, such as dash attack), her shield reflects projectiles that would normally hit her (instead of simply absorbing them like Link and Hero). This does not work for beam projectiles like Thoron. Moves reflected travel 3/4s their original speed, and deal 3/4s the damage they originally would have. Mash can be hit with a projectile if she is in the air (jumping or in free fall), turned away, or attacking (except with certain moves) when hit by one. I thought this would be fitting, due to other characters with shields having similar properties (though maybe not the reflecting part… oh well.)
-Mash’s Smash Attacks, Up Special, and Dash Attack all have Super-Armor on them during their startup frames, reducing damage taken during this armor’s activation by 50%, and causing no knockback for Mash during the armor’s duration.
Neutral Special: Command Cards
In Fate/Grand Order, attacks for the characters are chosen via the Command Card System: where 5 total cards appear randomized from the 3 characters in play, and must be chosen. These cards come in one of three attributes: Quick, Arts, and Buster. Certain bonuses, depending on the Type, can be collected if all three are the same Card Attribute. Additionally, if all three Cards chosen come from the same character, the character also gains an extra attack against the opponent. Due to this system’s importance in Grand Order, I just had to incorporate the system into Smash somehow. And I believe I’ve found the way to do just that.
This ability works in a similar manner to Shulk’s Monado, in that activating it (holding down the button to keep it up until a selection) will result in a menu to pop up. Here, Mash will be able to choose one of the three Command Card Types for use in combat; Quick, Arts, and Buster (no, not related to Shulk’s Buster in any way). Upon activation of the Type chosen, that Command Card wll flash above Mash’s head, before appearing next to her damage percent (the same size as it was before) for the duration of it’s activation. Each of these effects lasts for 10 seconds, and after use cannot be used again for 20 seconds (the timer for cooldown starts as soon as that Command Card becomes inactive). These Command Cards cannot be stacked with each other, and if one is chosen with a different one already active, the cooldown for the activated Command Card begins as soon as you select the second one.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2F7e05f5d3bf22b6d0c5805ef2f56ed51b0520b8f2r1-639-257v2_hq.jpg)
The Command Cards are as followed:
-Quick: A small green aura appearing around Mash (as well as the Command Card appearing above her head for a bit, as well as next to her damage percent), this option is used if you want to take a more offensive approach. In this state, Mash’s movement and air speed is increased by 50%, and her moves (except for Specials) are 25% faster. However, the moves deal 25% less damage, and she no longer has armor on any of her moves during this state (the armor is re-applied to the moves when it ends). Useful for approaching/rushing down the enemy to rack up damage, before switching to normal or Buster for the finishing blows.
-Arts: A blue aura appears around Mash’s Shield (with a similar effect for the Command Card itself as before). In this state, Mash’s Specials are overhauled, each having different effects take place depending on the Special used (will be listed in the respective Specials), as well as Side and Up Special occuring at 1.25x the speed. However, in this state she receives 1.3x normal knockback if attacked. Useful when playing her normal, more defense oriented playstyle, as her Defensive Abilities and Counter-Attacking capabilities are buffed immensely in this state. However, being caught off-guard can leave you in a bad spot with a higher chance of being KOd.
-Buster: A red aura surrounds Mash (same effects to the Command Card itself as the other two). While using this Card, all of her attacks (except for Specials) deal 1.3x damage and knockback, and have super-armor over all of them during their frames of startup. However, all of her normal attacks are 30% slower, and her movement speed and airspeed is decreased by 25%. If you’re tired of that one Captain Falcon constantly harassing you with faster attacks, hitting them with a super-armored Forward Smash when they try to Dash Attack you for the 3,000th time can be satisfying, as well as dealing with higher-percent opponents and other faster characters. However, this form can leave you much easier to evade and guess, meaning that a more Bait & Punish style of gameplay during this form is recommended.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2Ffed0ec9aada6b17b91be2a84e13be7f8d8409632r1-2048-1231v2_hq.jpg)
Additionally, if a Command Card is picked while the other two are in cooldown, a special triggered event known as an ‘Extra Attack’ will occur. The Extra Attack Command Card will flash over her head for 5 second, which if you don’t activate it during that 5 seconds it disappears and can’t be used until the next time it appears.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2F01052341621cd73855dc0a3f3815cc8250fbdb00r1-817-391v2_hq.jpg)
-Here, the next move after that connects with the opponent (that’s not an aerial or Special) will leave them in a stunned state akin to Ryu/Ken’s Down-Special, and with which after a special sequence will occur. While the opponent is stunned, Mash will automatically rush to the opponent, delivering a powerful three-string combo of a shield bash forward, a spearing motion with the tip of her shield, before finishing it off by jumping into the air (slightly higher than Ganondorf) and slamming the shield’s blade into the ground on the opponent, sending them flying. This string is unavoidable if hit with the attack that prompts it, however you can tech out of the final move’s launch if you’re quick enough.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2Fea3df8bfabf0c2d21f23abcf1c11f5e76864371er1-1024-2048v2_hq.jpg)
-The Extra Attack Chain deals 24% in all, and KOs at 120% from center stage if not teched. The event will not trigger if attacking an opponent with an aerial or Special, so bringing them down to the ground to land it (usually via a Side-Special Counter, Up-Special Spike, or Down-Air Spike) is a must if you want to use it. You can perform a combo of a Side-Special or Down-Air, the triggering Jab, Tilt, or Smash, and the Extra Attack itself, to deal massive damage in a short amount of time. However, you may become predictable at trying to land it during that time, so don’t over-rely on trying to land it.
These forms are all High-Risk and High-Reward, each having their various strengths and weaknesses. However, the mixup game of these is undeniable, as well as having some fluent chemistry with each other (racking up damage in Quick to finish off with Buster, Using an Arts buffed Side or Up Special to lead to a Quick Combo, using Buster as the final Command Card so that the Extra Attack is buffed in damage, etc). But be warned; as using a certain Card in the wrong situation can be potentially KO-worthy (getting smacked around in Arts before you can use your Specials, being predictable enough in Buster to waste the opportunity, etc).
Voice Lines:
-”Your Orders?” (Upon Menu Activation. Referring to Ritsuka, as they command the attacks in the game)
-”Understood”, “Here I go”, or “Yes” (Upon selection of a Command Card, randomized)
-”Go down… with this!” (used during Extra Attack, first part is on the move that prompts it, and the second part is during the final Shield Smash into the ground)
Side Special: Lord Chaldeas
In the Fate Series as a whole, summoned Servants each have 1 or more ‘Noble Phantasm’: an ability unique to them (and usually relating to that character’s history, such as Excalibur for Artoria), that can change the tide of a battle. Saying the full name of the Noble Phantasm releases it’s full potential, with the results varying depending on the Noble Phantasm’s themselves. However, activating it without the name results in a ‘Partial Activation’, providing smaller and less powerful variants of the NP. Mash’s Partial Activation of her NP is simply known as ‘Lord Chaldeas’ (named after the company that created her, the Chaldea Security Organization). For a long time (mostly when she didn’t know who’s soul she was fused with), she was forced to only be able to use the Partial Activation in fights, however she later learns her Full Activation. Due to this version being much swifter to use than her Fully Activated Noble Phantasm (which is being saved for a much bigger, flashier move, wink wink hint hint), this Partial Activation is her designated Side Special, and a damn good one due to it’s properties.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2Fa26b21123b8e90fbfc1caa8dfd8854df1f59566fr1-2048-1152v2_hq.jpg)
Upon activation, Mash will quickly stick her shield into the ground by it’s blade (or simply hold it in front of her if used in the air), and stand behind it. An ethereal blue-green symbol will appear in front of the shield (about 1/4th the size of the one in the picture), and stays there until either an attack hits it, she dodges out of it, or the move ends. This ability, while active, results in a different scenario depending on whether a projectile or melee attack hits it.
If a projectile hits it, the move acts as a reflector, sending the shot back in the direction originally launched from. However, instead of dealing less damage and being slower, the projectiles travel 1.5x the speed back that they originally came from, at 1.25x the amount of damage as before. If a melee attack hits it, the opponent bounces off the shield instead, an audible deep bell like noise being heard as the move connects with the shield. Opponents bouncing off the shield take ¼ the damage of the attack they were originally doing, and are popped up in a similar manner to Mewtwo’s Confusion, resulting in a chance for Mash to counter-attack with devastating results.
The usefulness of this move is fairly noticeable. Acting in a somewhat similar manner to Mewtwo’s Side-Special, it can be used as a setup for a decent combo chain (or even a kill confirm), and can even be considered a bit of a command grab due to the small window the opponent can’t do anything for after hitting Lord Chaldeas. It is useful against both more aggressive or rushdown type opponents, or if the opponent is constantly trying to zone Mash out. However, due to the window the shield can be left up for, it is possible for her to be grabbed out of it or attacked from behind while the move is up fairly easily, so you should be sure the opponent is trying to attack by getting up close before using it. It can also surprisingly be used quite aggressively, hitting an opponent and using it when they try to counter-attack, or even being able to edgeguard or ledgetrap opponents (especially if they like to ledge attack).
When powered up with the Arts Command Card, the barrier extends over her head, protecting herself from most attacks from above as well as in front. Additionally, projectiles are shot back at twice the speed and 1.5x the damage, as well as melee attackers taking half of the damage they were originally dishing out.
2 frames of startup for the ability, the barrier itself lasting for 3 full seconds before dissipating (or faster if Mash dodges out of it or his hit from behind). The Shield’s protection is 1.5x the height of Pit’s Barrier, and faces the direction Mash is facing upon activation.
Voice Line:
-“Noble Phantasm!” (Upon Activation)
Down Special: Servant Skills
Along with Noble Phantasms, summoned Servants also receive designated Skills for use in combat and ive situations alike. While in the visual novels, anime, and other media, these Skills were activated at all times (call it being part of their personality), in Grand Order these Skills can be activated on your combat turn for use in duration for a specific amount of turns after (it depends on the Skill). I decided to bring Two of Mash’s Three Active Skills over for use in this moveset, as Shield of Rousing Resolution’s purpose was to taunt opponents to attack Mash instead of her team, something that would be utterly useless in Smash’s more competitive scene. Additionally, I didn’t bring any of her ive Traits over either, as all three affected stats unique to Grand Order, and wouldn’t translate well elsewhere unless there was some serious leniency in of what the Skills meant.
This Special is a relatively simple one, although it has two different button prompts, providing different effects based on whether the button is either pressed quickly, or held down for a third of a second or longer.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2F8fa66047b51af4e2dd55bafafc64af4899c74aber1-1872-860v2_hq.jpg)
-If the Down-Special Command is pushed quickly, and not held, Mash will instantly activate Illustrious Wall of Snowflakes. After a short windup of Mash plunging her shield into the ground for a split second (or simply raising her shield into the air for a bit if in the air during activation), a small translucent barrier can be seen around her, as well as the symbol for the Skill appearing above her head and next to her damage percent. While this barrier is up, Mash takes 25% less damage and knockback from opponents’ attacks, as well as reducing opponent’s melee attack damage to her by an additional 25% (projectiles are not affected by the latter). In total, Mash takes 50% less from melee attacks, and 25% less from projectiles (a reference to the Defense and Damage Cut buffs that this Skill gives upon activation in Grand Order). This effect lasts for 10 seconds at a time, or will dissipate prematurely if Mash takes 40% or more in that time. Mash can use this effect 3 times per stock. Additionally, if Mash is in a team battle, this buff will affect her ally as well, reducing all of the enemy team’s attack prowess.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2F8619e1eab64d520b4dc4320da57c7f86ac586507r1-513-273v2_hq.jpg)
-Alternatively, if the button for activation is held for a third of a second or longer, Mash will instead activate her other Combat Skill, Obscurant Wall of Chalk. After the very short animation of Mash raising her arms to release some sort of power (similar to Mewtwo’s Neutral-Air), a bubble like shield appears around Mash, as well as the Skill’s symbol appearing above her head and next to her damage percent. While this ability is active, if Mash were to be hit by an attack that would normally have KOed her (or at the very least cause the big zoom in effect at the end of battles), the knockback of the move is negated, and Mash instead only takes ¼ of the damage she would have, the bubble like barrie disappearing as she slides back a bit instead of being launched (similar to a grounded opponent being hit by a Ryu Side Smash). This barrier is active for 5 seconds, and can only be used once per stock. Once again, this Skill also affects allies when activated.
When powered up with the Arts Command Card, Illustrious Wall of Snowflakes gains both 3 seconds of runtime and an extra 15% defense against attacks and projectiles. For Obscurant Wall of Chalk, the bubble barrier will be able to survive one KOing move, and will instead pop on either the second possible KOing move, or until the time limit is complete. It also gains an extra 2 seconds of runtime.
Voice Lines:
-”Deploying Maximum Firepower”, Status boost!”, or “I can’t fall yet!” (when a Skill is activated, randomized between these three voice lines)
Up Special: Chaldea Rush
This move is actually one whose properties are unique to this Smash moveset, as I had to take some liberties due to her lack of a concrete ability that could be used for an Up-Special. However, I at least made sure the attack was one of the animations she was capable of in Grand Order, so I hope that makes up for it.
This move actually works in a similar manner to Incineroar’s Up-Special. Here, Mash lunges herself up into the air quite a distance, before angling her shield so it faces diagonally downwards, and gets behind it. She then travels diagonally downwards at incredible speed, either slamming into the ground/ledge, or ending the move while still in the air to enter freefall. One change to it from Incineroar is what it does to opponents hit by it, as instead of carrying opponents down with it, the shield smacking them both spikes the opponent (at 70% or higher, although it still smacks them diagonally downwards at lower percentages), and causes Mash to exit the move upon hitting the opponent, allowing her to use it (or any jumps/airdodges she had left) once again after. A similar bell like sound from Side-Special can be heard when the shield smacks into the ground or an opponent.

It’s functionality is similar to Incineroar’s, providing both a functioning recovery tool, and a way to gimp opponents at the edge/ledge. In certain situations, she can even use it to start a combo, by smacking them into the ground with it before landing fast enough to get a move in, such as an F-Tilt, U-Tilt, or Smash Attack, which in turn can be a prompt for an Extra Attack. Additionally, the first few frames (listed below) are super-armored, making it a good candidate for beginning some combos, even when used on the ground. However, it has a similar problem with Incineroar’s in of being piss poor in of how well you can recover with it.
When powered up with the Arts Command Card, Mash travels 1.3x higher up into the air than what this move lists, as well as beginning to spike opponents down hard at earlier percentages, beginning at 40% and above instead of 70%.
It takes 8 frames for Mash to first jump into the air, travelling the height of 2 Ganondorfs in the process, and having Super-Armor for the first 5 frames. After staying in the air for a frame, she travels in a downward diagonal motion (similar in speed and direction to Incineroar’s), dealing 16% on the shield’s impact of an opponent (or 8% if they are hit by the small shockwave surrounding the shield on impact with the ground), KOing at 150%. The hitbox is similar to Incineroar’s as well, however instead of carrying the opponent with it, it bounces opponents off the shield in a spiking like motion. Apologies for the blandness for this one.
Voice Line:
-”I’ll defeat you with this!” (Upon activation. ‘I’ll defeat you’ can be heard while she’s rising, with the ‘with this’ occurring as she zooms downwards).

Moveset Summary
———————————————————————
Basic Attacks
Jab:
A two string combo. Beginning with a short bash forward with the shield, pressing it again results in a swipe forward with the shield’s cross blade. A decent and swift bout of damage, with a rather impressive range for a jab. Use it when a need for an attack quicker than your others is needed, such as a rushing down opponent, as well as being able to Jab Lock with the first Shield Bash.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2Fa6ee71f06212b1256e20e0b3fc89f2f7e86f4bb8r1-1949-747v2_hq.jpg)
The small chain deals 17% in total (*% for the shield bash, 9% for the swipe), KOing at 190% from center stage. 3 frames of startup, with damage active on frames 4-5 (bash) and 9-10(swipe). Hitbox is similar to Bowser’s Jab, with the final swipe’s disted hitbox being slightly longer.
Dash Attack:
Tucking herself behind her shield, she charges forward, plowing through anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in her path. As useful as any other Dash Attack, however the ability to reflect projectiles while both dashing and Dash Attacking, as well as the few frames of armor at the beginning of the move, make it a powerful rushdown tool if you’re looking to break through the enemy’s defenses, while still keeping your own. However, there is a bit of end lag that they make you vulnerable if you’re not careful.
Deals 11%, and KOs at 170% from center stage. 10 frames in total, with damage active on frames 3-8. Hitbox is slightly larger than Banjo’s Wonder-Wing, and travels a Bowser’s width in distance. Attack has Super-Armor for the starting 3 frames before she charges.
Tilts
Up-Tilt:
After a small windup frame, Mash slashes upwards vertically with the cross blade on the shield. Covers a wide area in front of her and above her, with the disted hitbox of the shield’s slash ensuring the opponent most likely can’t counter-attack due to the sheer size of it, as well as providing good cover against enemies rushing down or approaching from the air in front of her. It can even be used to launch opponents upwards to follow up with an aerial. However, the small windup may clue the opponent in, dodging out of the way to attack her during it’s short but noticeable end-lag. The Quick Card is useful for this move to all but negate it’s startup, and provide great coverage with less chance of being punished for using it.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2Fbe3640ce481bf07e3ae7ff344445f0956e948074r1-2048-1152v2_hq.jpg)
Deals 12% in total, and KOs at 210% from center stage. 5 frames of startup, and the swipe upward has damage active on frames 6-8, with 3 frames of end lag. Hitbox is similar, but slightly wider at the top, to Shulk’s Up-Air.
Down-Tilt:
Mash, while crouching low to the ground, swipes low to the ground horizontally forward with the cross blade. Useful for the same reasons as many other Down-Tilts, popping opponents up for some aerial foreplay before the Up-Special or Extra-Attack finisher. Another disted hitbox as well, albeit smaller than most of her others.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2F2c53c9f39245c8e195db21ecfc32d2abbf2b24b2r1-2048-1152v2_hq.jpg)
Deals 9%, and KOs at 290%. 2 frames of startup, with damage active from rames 3-4, and 1 frame of end lag. Similar hitbox to Marth’s Down-Tilt, but slightly longer horizontally.
Side-Tilt:
Mash spears the cross blade of the shield out forward in front of her. Acts very similar to Ganondorf’s Side-Tilt, launching opponents horizontally sideways away from her. This makes it good at both poking at opponents from a safe distance, and even gimping some people off the ledge with it. Also aiding with this move is it’s disted hitbox, allowing her to attack with it relatively safely. However, the small recoil makes it possible for Mash to fall victim to enemies that dodge or shield the strike.
Deals 12% damage, KOing at 160%. 3 frames of startup, with damage active for frames 4-5, and 4 frames of end lag. Hitbox is 30% longer horizontally than Ganondorf’s Side-Tilt, and 25% wider. Also a disted hitbox due to the shield.
Grab, Pummel and Throws
Grab:
Mash grabs and holds the opponent with one hand, while the other arm holds the shield out, as if ready to attack with it. Grab reach is similar to Bowser.
Pummel:
Mash smacks the opponent upside the head with the horizontal part of the cross blade. Your standard pummel, dealing 2 hits of 1% every second the pummel button is mashed.
Up-Throw:
After a short windup backward, Mash launches an upward slash with the shield’s cross blade, sending opponents flying upwards. A rather far-launching grab, and is useful for flinging opponents away so you can have time to set up your own defenses for the next time they come nearby.
Deals 8%, KOing at 190%.
Down-Throw:
After throwing the opponent onto the ground, Mash hops a short distance into the air, and tucks her body into her shield, letting the weight of it drag her down as the shield’s blade slams onto the downed opponent (similar look in animation to Link’s Down-Air, except she’s facing slightly forward instead of at the camera). Her most damaging grab, and the slight pop up of the enemy afterwards (most similar to Dedede’s Down-Throw) can set you up for a Quick Card combo, or even an Extra Attack prompt.
Deals 12% total, KOing at 250%.
Forward-Throw:
Shoving the opponent away a short distance, Mash hops backwards a bit, before proceeding to charge forward with the shield in front of her, bashing the opponent with the face of the shield as she charges, and sending them flying. Her main kill throw when the opponent is at higher percentages, as it acts in a similar manner to her Side-Tilt at launching opponents horizontally forward, making it a reliable one. It can also be used as a decent spacer between Mash and the opponent for her to recoup and prepare with Specials.
Deals 10% in total, KOing at 100% from the edge of most stages.
Back-Throw:
Similar to Forward-Throw, except instead of shoving them forward, Mash whips around to toss them behind her before shield-bashing them. Similar functions as to Forward-Throw, with slightly higher damage and slightly reduced knockback.
Deals 13% in total, KOing at 120% from the edge of most stages.
Smash Attacks
Up-Smash:
First tucking the shield close to her chest to charge up the smash, releasing it results in Mash shoving the shield upwards, in a similar manner to Marth/Lucina’s Up-Smash, and damaging any enemy caught in the shield’s hitbox. Due to the shield’s massive size, this move is a great tool for dealing with aerial enemies above you, such as those trying to Down-Air you from above.
Deals 14% uncharged/28% fully charged, KOing at 160% and 120%, respectfully. 3 Frames of startup upon release, with damage active on frames 4-10 (the shield stays in place during this time), and 2 frames of endlag as she lowers the shield. Hitbox is similar in height to Marth’s Up-Smash, and about 1 ½ Kirbys in width, directly above Mash’s head. Disted hitbox, and had Super-Armor during the starting 3 frames.
Down-Smash:
Seeming to be ready to jump by tucking her knees to almost her chest, releasing the button results in Mash hopping swiftly into the air, before diving to the ground and slamming the face of her shield into it, creating a shockwave around the shield’s impact that damages enemies around it. A great spacer for opponents trying to pressure Mash with melee strikes, as well as a good counter-attack, as hopping into the air for the small amount of time can allow you to dodge Down-Tilts and other low to the ground attacks. It is, however, her slowest Smash Attack to recover from, giving enemies ample time to attack if you miss, so she should use it sparingly.
Deals 15% uncharged/24% fully charged, KOing at 180%/110% respectfully. 5 frames of startup, with damage active for frames 6-7, and 4 frames of endlag. Hitbox is similar to Charizard’s Down-Smash. Super-Armor during the starting 2 frames, giving some enemies the ability to stop her from doing the attack by hitting her out of it before she hits the ground.
Side-Smash:
Drawing back the arm holding her shield, releasing the button results in Mash driving the cross blade into the ground, and a large blast wave appearing in front of Mash, blowing enemies hit by the blast away from her. Due to the distance between Mash and the move’s hitbox (as it’s her largest disted hitbox), it is another fantastic option for spacing herself away from the opponent, as well as a good kill move for higher percentages. It can even be used as a prompt for Mash’s Extra Attack, combining with her safeness of the hitbox to be a very dangerous situation for the opponent to be caught in.
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2F0c57b074f0e5edc3d99e0c0b22f500babcf23c62r1-2048-1152v2_hq.jpg)
Deals 15% uncharged/32% fully charged, KOing at 150%/90%, respectfully. 3 frames of startup, with damage active from frames 4-6, and 6 frames of endlag as she re-adjusts to her normal stance. Hitbox is 1.5x the length of Terry’s Power Geyser, but only being 3/4ths the height at the end of it, and 1/4ths the height right next to her. Mash has Super-Armor during the first 3 frames.
Air Attacks
Neutral-Air:
In a similar manner to Marth/Lucina’s Nair, Mash spins in place, using the cross blade to form a circle shaped slash around her body in the air, before returning to her normal position. A quick move for dealing with those attempting to smack you around in the air, or a possible portion of a Quick Card combo.
Deals 11% total, KOing at 210%. 2 Frames of startup, with damage active on frames 3-5, and 1 frame of end lag. Hitbox is 1.2x longer horizontally than Marth/Lucina’s Neutral-Air.
Up-Air:
Mash jabs the shield upward, it’s cross blade resembling Link’s Up-Air in of damaging opponents directly above her. It’s large disted hitbox is a good deter against those wanting to spike her, however the short windup before throwing it out may give the opponent the opportunity they need if they can read it properly.
Deals 12%, and KOs opponents at 170%. 4 frames of startup, with damage active on frames 5-10, and 2 frames of endlag. Hitbox is a similar height, but 3x the width, of Link’s Up-Air.
Down-Air:
Tucking herself against the shield, Mash launches straight vertically downwards towards the ground at high speed, the move ending with the cross blade being driven into the ground below before she pulls it out and returns to her neutral stance (if it doesn’t hit a ledge, it can be cancelled out of with a jump after travelling three Ganondorf hurtboxes in height downward). A great move for catching opponents trying to juggle Mash off guard, as well as a way to reach her much more advantageous place on the ground faster if launched. It can also spike at 80% or higher if the enemy is hit with the tip of the cross blade on Mash’s way down, but I wouldn’t recommend trying to go for that unless you catch the opponent off guard with it, or if you just want to be a dick.
Deals 13% in total, KOing opponents at 260% (by spiking them into the ground first). 3 frames of startup, and damage is active throughout her trip down to the ground. Similar fall speed and hitbox to Link’s Down-Air.
Forward-Air:
Mash slashes forward in the air with the shield’s cross blade. Nothing too fancy regarding this one, however it is both a good spacing tool and can be a decent part of a combo with it’s speed and disted hitbox.
Deals 10% in total, KOing at 240%. 4 frames of startup, with damage active for frames 5-6, and 1 frame of end lag. Hitbox is similar to Marth’s Forward-Air.
Back-Air:
Mash turns around in the air to slash with the shield, before turning back around to face her normal direction. Deals more damage and launches farther than Forward-Air, but is somewhat slower, so using it as a small combo ender in the air can be a viable option.
Deals 13% in total, KOing at 190%. 6 frames of startup, with damage active for frames 7-8, and 3 frames of end lag. Hitbox is similar to her own Forward-Air, just behind her.
Final Smash: Lord Camelot
Her Noble Phantasm’s name finally known, Mash’s abilities come to fruition as she can finally reach her maximum potential.
Upon activation, Mash plunges the Shield’s cross blade into the ground, before charging forward in a cross-map sweep across the ground (slightly slower than Joker’s but crossing the entire map).
Upon activation, the cutscene below plays.
However, a new twist happens as part of this cutscene. After finishing her quote and standing with her now giant ass shield (in case you’re wondering, the translation means ‘That which heals all wounds and grudges, our glorious homeland. Manifest yourself, Lord Camelot!’), she will then charge forward at a blinding speed, colliding with the opponent and sending them flying, before she returns to her normal stance.
Deals 45% in all, KOing the opponent off stage if they were at 50% or above before getting sweeped with the bash.

Mash Kyrielight‘s Animations
———————————————————————
Entrance:
Seeming to Dash in from out of nowhere, she says to Ritsuka (who is in the background, similarly to Pokemon Trainer) “Entering combat. Please watch me, Master.” (I pinky promise that the title isn’t meant to be creepy in any fashion).
![Mash Kyrielight is Summoned for Battle! (Smash Bros Character Concept)-[BCI]As always, comments and criticisms to help make t](https://image.staticox.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F7481%2Fdc17d8dc0bb4dbc78873d8e77771b819b8ed0c3br1-563-227v2_hq.jpg)
Up-Taunt
First holding out her shield diagonally upwards in front of her, she then takes a small slash diagonally up to down in front of herself, and stands ready with her shield aimed to the side of her as she stares valiantly forward, stating the phrase “I will not fall!” Ritsuka in the background holds out a fist in front of themself in a sort of small fist pump motion as she does this.
Down-Taunt:
Closing her eyes as she puts her non-shield holding hand on her chest, she almost silently repeats the phrase “Calm down… calm down.” to herself.
Side-Taunt:
Kneeling to the ground as she plants the shield’s blade down in front of her, a white translucent barrier appears around her for a short bit, before it disappears and she takes up arms once more. Ritsuka in the background points towards where Mash is facing, almost as if saying a command to her.
Idle 1:
Mash glances around the battlefield, seeming to look for Ritsuka around her, before readjusting her shield and returning to her normal stance.
Idle 2
Seeming to glance off to the side, as if addressing Ritsuka, Mash says “Awaiting your orders, Master.” (It’s still not weird, I promise).
Victory:
Dashing into view of the camera, Mash jumps into the air to launch a slash, before landing on the ground while simultaneously plunging the cross blade of the shield into the ground. As she launches the slash and lands, she says “Battle Complete. We managed, somehow.”
Victory 2:
Mash once again dashes into frame. However, this time the camera focuses on Ritsuka, whom Mash dashes in to appear alongside. Both strike a pose next to eachother: Mash holding her shield up slightly as if ready for combat, and Ritsuka doing one of the poses below (depending on the gender)
Victory 3:
Landing on the ground, Mash will ask Ritsuka (who is out of the camera’s frame) “Umm… was I helpful?” as she sticks the cross blade into the ground, and stands next to it in her normal pose when outside of combat.
Mash Kyrielight‘s Color Swaps
-Default
Her default color-Palette. Male Ritsuka is used.
-Alternate 2
A white palette replaces the black on Mash’s outfit, as a nod to Ritsuka’s normal attire. Female Ritsuka is used.
-Alternate 3
Mash’s black on her outfit is replaced with a deep pinkish red, with her gauntlets and shoes remaining a bright white, and her hair retains a white look. A reference to one of the main Casters of Grand Order met, Marie Antoinette. Male Ritsuka is used, with his outfit being black instead of white.
-Alternate 4
A purple palette appears on her arms and shoes, and a dark teal replaces the black on the rest of her outfit, as well as her hair turning a much deeper purple. A reference to the other main Caster of Grand Order, Mephistopheles. Female Ritsuka is used, with a black color palette for her outfit.
-Alternate 5
Mash’s outfit gains gold instead of the normal black, with her leg guards getting a dark purple like tone, and her hair being all black with some small white highlights. A reference to the Main Berserker of Grand Order, Darius III. Male Ritsuka is used, with his pants being black and his shirt being a dark red, in reference to one of his outfits in FGO.
-Alternate 6
Mash’s top and arms are a duller white than Alt 2, her leg guards are a dark blue, and her hair is black. A reference to the main Rider of Grand Order, Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Female Ritsuka is used, with her pants being black and her shirt gaining an orange palette, in reference to one of her outfits in FGO.

Before I continue, I must say that there were a few choices in of outfits for Mash, and that one of them would be her ALt 7 and 8 ones. There were three to choose from:
Casual/Chaldea Outfit:

Alright, fine, fine. Anyways, I decided to go with her casual look, since I don’t think running around with a giant Oculus Rift strapped to your head would be much fun, and for obvious reasons regarding the third option.
Anyways...
-Alternate 7
Casual/Chaldea Mash. Male Ritsuka is used, back in his default white color palette.
-Alternate 8
Casual Mash, and both Mash and (Female) Ritsuka are wearing black color palette swaps to their respective outfits.

-A Temple existing out of the limits of time, and in a sea of imaginary numbers, this stage is King Solomon’s Second Noble Phantasm, ‘The Time of Crowning has Come, He is the One who Begins All’, as well as the scene for the Final Battle against Goetia: the amalgamation of the 72 demons inhabiting Solomon’s body. Here, the Fate of the World, as well as the entirety of the Universe, hangs in the balance. And of course because of the Power of Friendship, you pull through (although Solomon helping you really made a difference).
The normal version of this stage is just as how you see it, flat ground for you to fight on, with the unmatched beauty of Solomon’s Reality Marble formed Temple in the background. Occasionally, you will see Goetia’s corruption begin to seep in, turning the background red and having darkness crawl towards it. However, Solomon will appear in the background, and a flash of light will appear, before it return to normal. While Solomon could only do this once in the game (mostly due to literally erasing himself by doing it) this flash will occur occasionally, as to keep the stage fresh, and doesn’t do it in the other forms.
Battlefield and Omega forms are self explanatory, the flat ground originally fought on being replaced with a floating platform(s) of the same material, the temple still being able to be viewed in the background.
Music
Woo-whoooah boy, do we got a doozy.
Namely the fact that Grand Order has an almost ridiculous amount of songs to choose from. Not only does it have it’s own soundtracks made just for the game, but it has the music from just about every other Fate adaptation (that’s nor a book or light novel) known’s library of songs. That’s flipping crazy!
Seeing this, I’ve decided to show you just some of the songs from the collection. While I’m not sure if these are the most popular of the songs from the game, they’re sure a blast to listen to, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
-And many more that I can’t even begin to put here due to the sheer amount.

Finally... the anime shield fighter.
Interesting thought. We don't have that yet. I haven't played this before.
I’m not gonna review this bc char concepts are getting rlly boring to talk about, but I do wanna say one thing— you don’t have to apologize for anything :p I don’t wanna be this fear-instilling person just because Im not afraid to criticize things. Plus, I do understand putting stuff for FFC3 in and here’s nothing wrong with that. I believe that in one of your recent movesets I did dox points for it just because I was reviewing the blog from the standpoint of it being a moveset and not a ffc3 moveset but I actually don’t really understand why I did that :p that was a pretty stupid mistake on my part, my apologies
Awesome idea, you should check out the movesets I made for Artoria and Nero
Ah, another fate/go fan
