Or if you prefer, you could call this blog "Matt's Statts."

Dang. That's a good idea.

Seems like Spike and I come up with a lot of ideas when we’re talking with each other. On the same day we realized we should revive Cirno’s Idea Pile (go pin the catalogued version if you want to use it in the future by the way), we also started wondering what the statistics for our blogs looked like. So that’s what this blog is about.

Today I’m going over the word count, character count, readability level, likes, and comments, on all my featured blogs. At the end of the blog, I’ll present the averages I found. I'll also be grouping the blogs by month because why not. Without further ado, let’s begin.

Actually, more ado. All the data and facts about it are at the end of the blog. So if you want to skip to the good stuff without being overwhelmed by numbers, scroll down to the Trivia section.

Data

So now let’s take a look at the data. Being the lazy guy I am, I punched all the numbers into a statistics calculator so I could get all these statistics at the same time.

Trivia

Matt's Blog Stats-[BC]Or if you prefer, you could call this blog

So here are some things I noticed about the data:

-My two featured posts with the fewest comments were the ones about why top and high tiers are good and why mid and low tiers are less good, with 4 and 2 comments respectively. This could be thanks in part to the fact that the featured feed hadn’t been updated very much for several days, so when those posts got late features, they got buried under other posts rather quickly (including two of my own)

-My blog with the most words by far is the one where I criticize Dash’s tier list, with a whopping 3,346 words, which is far more than I would have been able to include in one blog before an update increased the character limit dramatically.

-With all the featured blogs under 100 likes, I’m surprised the average turned out to be 106.

-The post with the fewest likes is my BTFFD: Civil War announcement, with only 39 likes. I’m not surprised by this at all, considering it was an announcement not too many people cared about anyway.

-Out of my 62 features, a cool 56 of them were written at a readability level above my own grade, with only 6 being written at a 9th-10th grade level. Man, you’d think I’d get somewhat better grades on my essays with that kind of statistic.

-My shortest featured blog is my CCReview announcement, with only 308 words. This is pretty darn short compared to my other blogs, especially the one about Dash’s tier list, which is nearly 11 times as long. Sure, some drawings get featured with... no words. But hey, a picture’s worth a thousand words, so a few WIP pictures could easily blow all my blogs out of the water.

-Excluding December, as of posting this blog, I’m averaging exactly 10 features per month.

-With 15 features, March is the month I got featured the most, but I have ample time left in June to sur that. Heck, there should be another blog going up alongside this to potentially bring up my total to 15.

inb4 Matt go on hiatus now that you’ve been featured 15 times

-My two most liked blogs are the top 10 grab games and the top 5 worst explanations for tier placements, with 180 and 160 likes respectively. Perhaps I should make more list blogs. People seem to like those.

Conclusion

Whaddaya reckon? More list blogs maybe?

Welp, that's all the stats I've got for now. A ridiculous amount of work went into this blog, and I'm surprised I was able to finish writing it within 24 hours.

Would I recommend doing this? Well, depends. Do you have fewer features than me? Like, a lot fewer? If so, yes. If you have more or slightly fewer than me, don't torture yourself. This is Matt, g off.

Damn, you're catching up to me with all of your features. Nuuuuuuu!

Fr tho, I do like statistics. Just one question, how do you calculate the reading level of blogs? Because tbh I don't think any of your blogs would be very hard to read for any competent person regardless of age, maybe a difficulty scale out of 10 would be more appropriate?

The way I calculated it was by copypasting the whole bto charactercounttool.com, where it would give me a grade level, which I just took at face value. Bad idea maybe?
